Drops from Major Nanners (a rare elite in Vale of Eternal Blossom).
When you use this whistle it casts Summon Helpful Wikky and summons a small hozen to you. When Helpful Wikky appears you can open a dialogue box with him and say "Forage for me, Wikky!". This causes him to run off and gives you the buff Helpful Wikky.
Shortly after summoning him, he will actually die if you dont talk to him fast enough, so you have limited time to interract with him.

The buff lasts 2 hours but doesn't persist through death. While killing and looting enemies (seems to be after exactly 50 of them Helpful Wikky Kill Counter) Helpful Wikky will reappear and allow you to talk to him again, after which he gives you Bag of Helpful Things.
Much the same as when summoning him, if you dont talk to him with in a short period of him appearing and offering you a reward, he will die without giving you anything.

Regardless of of your success or failure in using the whistle and/or getting a bag of things, you can only do this a maximum of once every 2 hours. So if you use it and die before killing 40 mobs, you'll have to wait before trying again.
Unfortunatly the bag currently contains no loot.

Ok so I got one today and used it. Guy brought back a pack with ~50 silver, 2 random elixirs, 2 motes of harmony and a healing pot. Ill keep using him and update.

I've had issues with this as well. It seems that if you are in a party, anyone can talk to Wiki and get the 2 hour buff. Sometimes nothing happens at the end of two hours, but if successful he comes back and you can talk to him to get a bag, as mentioned. I suspect that if you don't watch the buff timer, he may try to show up while you're flying, zoning, etc. or otherwise busy and just be missed. It also may only function in Pandaria zones (confirmed to work while in instances though).

You do get a few nice items and elixirs from this guy. The best way to use it is to just blow the whistle when you start doing your dailies and he should appear before you finish. He usually gives out a one or more of a healing potion, random Pandaria quality elixirs, motes of harmony and some junk (i.e. old banana peels).

I found the best place to get the 50 kills for this is from the Sapfly in Dread Waste. They're grouped up, have very little hp and are everywhere!
EDIT: Even better, Zijin Hollowfly. They're already in large groups in a small area and they're just over the wall from the Sapflies.

Three important things,
Watch your buff! the buff goes away and you'll whistle, that is when you know Wicky has returned.
Watch the ground! Wicky is small and be sometimes hard to see. You can /tar helpful if you lose him.
Watch your bag space! If you have full bags, you won't be able to get the bag but Wicky will run off, essentially wasting the 2 hour item.

Double EDIT: Despite the Bag of Helpful Things not being labelled as Unique, I was unable to obtain a 2nd one today due to already having one. Beware.

I'm going every 2 hours to Paoquan Hollow, in Vo4W.
There are packs of 10 Zijjin hollowlies - they have 21k health each.

For me: 3 x multishot on 5 groups - 50 mobs down in 2 minutes. Quickest place to farm ever.

Killed him and got the item today, not sure if a bug or intended but my friend tried to steal the bag and in the process I got 2 and he also got one so I don't know if he can return with multiple bags or it was just an error.

A good place to farm your 50 mobs is in Paoquan Hollow (Valley of the Four Winds, top left forest). Killing 5-7 packs of Zijin Hollowfly should do it.

Make sure you have a spot open in your bags or else you won't receive the Bag of Helpful Things and he will despawn.

If you are in water when he spawns he drowns and dies.

Helpful Wikky Whistle buff AND bag can be shared if you have someone else other than the summoner talk to him, but don't take too long as he will despawn and be careful because you can only have one bag in your inventory at a time.

It is possible to get 2 bags per whistle. Of course this depends on how fast you autoloot the bag. Using the addon Turn in you can just skip through the dialog to talk to him. I autolooted it and then used my interact with target keybind and got a second bag at the last second!

Bag of helpful things is unique, even though it lacks it in description. Attempting to accept another from Wikki when you have one already in backpack will result in error (Can't have more of those items). I tried to save some space by not taking elixirs out, and on next collection, Wikki just run off wasting the cooldown.

So the first couple times I used this item I never received the bag. Then I used it today and after I had killed the required 50 mobs I heard a whistle and looked around for Wikky. You only have a limited time to click on him after he comes back or you will lose your bag. Hope that helps.

You can add the Helpful Wikky return npcid to NPCScan and have it trigger when he comes back, assuming you're willing to reset your cache every 2 hours if you use this consistently.

npcid 65096 is the npc when summoned.
npcid 66198 is the npc when he returns to you with your bag.

Note that you probably won't have the 3d portrait thing show up because you'll likely be in combat when he returns, but you will get the sound notification.

They seem to have fixed the issue with full bags with Wikky. Seems that he won't actually respawn even when you've killed your 50th mob until you've cleared at least one inventory space from your bag. Had killed literally 73 mobs before I tried clearing an inventory space, he popped up soon after. No word yet if they made it so the buff persists through death.

I just used Helpful Wikk'ys Whistle, talked to the hozen, farmed 40 level 86 mobs (im level 90) and the hozen reappeared. after talking to him he gave me a bag of helpful things.

I recieved

2 motes of Harmony
1 Mantid Elixir
1 Elixir of Peace
about 26 gold

from the bag of helpful things.

I created a very simple addon called Wikky's Whistle Helper.
It will display a raid warning and play a warning sound every time Wikky appears (or more specifically says anything, which always happens when he spawns).
No need to reset cache!
You can get it from Curse website. Hope you will find it useful!

A friend of mine got this from Major Nanners and summoned him in the water pool next to his body. We tried talking to him but he didn't do anything so we figured the water bugged him for some reason. While we were discussing it he suddenly died and I instantly came to the conclusion that he had drowned. I laughed pretty hard on skype.

Sapfly's in the Dread Wastes are quick & easy to kill in order to get the 50 kills. They are in groups of 5-6, often with multiple packs on the same tree, and only just over 16k hp

Adding to the long list of annoyances: Try to time it so Wikky doesn't return while you are swimming. He drops to the bottom of whatever water you're in, and even if you reach him in time, you can't open the dialog window.

Kills made while in a vehicle do not count for Wikky, so feel free to do those quests with the buff still active.

Edit for a 5.1 warning: The Enemy of My Enemy is... Is Still My Enemy! IS NOT a vehicle quest. Wikky will spawn down on the battlefield if you get up to the 50 kills while you're doing this.

I can confirm that Helpful Wikky will appear for you in Cataclysm level zones! I was farming level 84 mobs for mats (also boosting an alt in party), so I gave the whistle a go. His drops did not appear to be affected by zone, as I received the usual potions along with one mote of harmony (he must have foraged quite a bit to dig up a mote in Uldum). So if you are farming in Cata and don't have any other plans you can get a quick bag off of Wikky; I have not tested any Northrend or lower level areas.

hes hard to spot when he returns you have to pay extra attention if ur jus farming and not keeping a good eye out for em. he doesnt talk or do anything noticeable but theres a vague sound which is kinda low unles ur really paying attention. so when u use the whistle make sure ur paying attention for the next 50+ kills or so or make/find an identifying macro or addon

For those of us who want to know these things: The bags do NOT scale with the character's level. This means you get the same thing on a level 1 as with a level 90. Those of us professionally-minded can pick up one of these at a low level via some friendly assistance with a summon or port and flight, pick up a Whistle via 1 or more Nanners kills, and by the time you hit 90, you'll have a healthy supply of Spirit of Harmony.

Due to my own observations, it would seem that you only receive credit for monsters high enough to give you experience. I was in the Searing Gorge on my 90 farming for a tailoring pattern and my whistle came off cooldown. I blew it, spoke to Wikky and he ran off saying he would find me presents. 40 minutes later of farming he still hadn't come back. So I hearthed back to the Shrine of Two Moons and headed over to the Paoquan Hollow. And it took the full 50 fly kills for him to reappear and give me my bag.

It takes such little time to do that you should now be able to go get a satchel say after raid before bed? Whats an extra 4 minutes! Make it one of the first things you do every time you log on and the last thing you do before you log out!

Another great spot to get your 50 kills is the Silken Fields in Vo4W. The Tiny Mutated Silkmoths have less than 28k health and are in groups of 7-9. If you're a tailor or live at Halfhill (I know a lot of you do!), this spot is incredibly convenient!

I've noticed a few things about this - one it's very useful if you have a DK tank, as the bag often contains Monk and Mantid Elixirs (mastery and armor) which is better for raiding than a flask and when using the whistle often, I rarely need to make any with alchemy.

You can also save time by using the whistle before logging, playing another toon, etc. When you log back in more than 2 hours later, you still have the 2 hour buff but the whistle is usable again, so you can go to the Dread Wastes, kill 50 sapflys, summon him again and repeat. But as a previous poster said make sure you open the bag from the first time before attempting to collect the second as you can only have one Wikky bag at a time.

You can also generally get the required kills from doing any of the landing invasion quests to summon the rare elite mob for an extra daily (tiger, crane, etc).

Wikky can and will return in PvP environments, as HKs seem to count to his counter. The downside of this is that you can basically die at any point before the counter and lose the buff.

Don't judge me, I forgot I had the buff (had previously logged with the buff on, obviously with some counters on it from somewhere) and queued for my usual TB / arenas, and this is how I discovered it.

And yes, this also means that the buff WILL persist through logouts, with the kill counter, and the item will reset by the time you're back. So if you have to leave somewhere and the item is available, use it and spend the buff when you're back.

Another great place to quickly bag the 50 kills necessary for Helpful Wikky to bring you your Bag of Helpful Things is the Terrace of Ten Thunders in The Jade Forest (44.50, 15.40). The Ancient Spirits that continuously spawn from the two little pylons die quick to AoE. Can have your loot in less than 5 minutes from the time you whistled the whistle. :)

I have yet to be able to get a bag from Wikky. Will someone go through the steps for me of how this works. I just killed about a hundred sapflies, mushan calves and an occasional bull but no Wikky do I see, no Wikky in my chat dialog showing he returned. Does he silently spawn and could he have been hidden under the massive piles of mushan?

Here's a tip for all of you fellow WoW players that i found to kill the required amount of creatures for Wikky's Whistle a bit easier and faster too! Simply fly to Paoquan Hollow located NW in Valley of the Four Winds where Bonobos (rare hozen elite) may also be found, there you will find groups of Zijin Hollowfly up to x10 per group and can be easily AoE down in less than 2 mins. Just 4 of these groups and Wikky will appear again and you talk to him to receive your reward! I hope my information helps many of you =) Have fun!

I don't see any comments being clear about this, sorry if there is one already, but the buff is removed as soon as he re-appears so you can only get one bag for each use of the whistle. Makes sense but I kinda wanted to farm Zijin flies and get rich in a couple of hours. My first use I got:
1 elixir of mirrors
2 elixir of the rapids
1 mote of harmony
1 master healing potion
1 banana peel
I'll update this post with my next 2 bags.

Best place I've found is a mob called Skiggit located in a virmen burrow at 23.21, 30.63 in Valley of the Four Winds. He's a quest mob that respawns fairly fast, and he is surrounded by 6 one shot-able virmen mobs with only 3939 HP that also have instant respawns, most of the time they keep spawning after Skiggit is dead. You can get wikki to return in about 30 seconds.

Just confirmed that the Sapflies in the Dread Wastes still work, but it's unclear whether the requirement to make 50 kills has been completely removed. I got the bag from Wikky. . .and I'm pretty sure I didn't kill all 50!

Had just popped over the wall from Dread Wastes doing my rare scan there, and accidentally used the whistle while still on flying mount.
Fell to the ground taking about half health in damage.
Around the same time I hear Wikki ask, "What you want?",but on looking around to find him, couldn't.
Did /tar wik and found his corpse floating about 20 feet up. 2 hours til he can be re-summoned...

I've been doing the bugs method for getting 50 kills for quite awhile, but this morning, it only took 30 kills for me to get Wikky to respawn again. Anyone else get the same result?

On a whim, I tested Wikky's foraging skills while killing the packs of Tiny Mutated Silkmoths in the Silken Fields. Doing a full circuit, and killing about 8 eclipses (that's what a group of moths is called) he came back. It was quick, easy, and rather painless.

Greetings and salutations!
As you may have read above, Helpful Wikky will reappear once you've gotten 50 kills.
But fret not! I have discovered the most efficient way to top off your kill counter and look your Wikky within a few minutes!
In Vale of Eternal Blossoms, you can engage Bloodtip(http://www.wowhead.com/npc=58474#comments), and use her ability to summon adds to your advantage.
She has an ability named Call Swarmers, which summons spiders to fight for her. Lucky for us, they count toward the Wikky's kill counter, so after only three summons, you'll already have your Wikky anxiously awaiting you with his bag.
All in all, it only takes about 5 minutes. No more losing your bag because he runs off into the distance.

I'm glad I came here to read the comments because the kill count requirement isn't even so much as hinted upon, on either one of the tooltips - for the whistle itself or for the 2-hour buff you get after sending Wikky off to forage. Honestly, I just assumed that he would come back after 2 hours of play time (sort of like when you upgrade Sunsong Ranch, and it takes 15 minutes). I'm not sure how I was supposed to guess it... Regardless, once I read the comments, though, I got the 50 kills in under 5 minutes in Paoquan Hollow, by killing packs of flies.

Also dont forget the Fairlands Gazelle easy to find, easy to kill, and are in packs of 4-5. So while Bloodtip is nice when she is up.... you cant count on that. The only time these aren't an easy kill is when the Golden Lotus daily to kill them is active. Which is also only a problem if someone is actually running the quest at the time.

If you are in a group when you summon Wikky, the counter that follows will not work. We were in a group of 2, and I received 100 grisly trophies after Wikky went away. Thus even if the system have counted every 2 mob as "mine" he should've returned, but that was not the case and he did not show up. So, should be a solo effort this farming of mobs.

Be aware as with anything else concerning your bags. If your bags are FULL you will not receive his Bag of Helpful Things and it will not appear as a recovered lost item in your mailbox.

I'd say that the silken field killing the groups of little moths is definitely the best place for this as a mage i can just hearth to halfhill every 2 hours knock out it a minute or 2 and get back to what i am doing

Drops from the hozen rare 'Major Nanners', located in a small area between Valley of Four Winds and Vale of Eternal Blossom. The area also contains other elite hozen.

What happens is you will blow the whistle, a hozen (about the size of a baby vermin) will go to you. Speak to him and say 'Forage for me Wikky!' and he will bounce away and a buff of two hours will be put on you. You will have this time to kill 50 NPCs.

When you feel that you've killed around 50, watch your log in case Wikky says something, as he is sometimes hard to spot due to his tiny size.

Talk to him again, and press the 'Thanks, Wikky!' option. He will run away again, and a bag will go into your bags. I find that the bag usually consists of Elixir(s) of any sort, Master Healing Potion(s), a grey item, and some money. Also maybe a beverage/food.

After opening mine today, I received:
76 silver, 35 copper,
1x Master Healing Potion
1x Banana Cocktail
1x Old "Pirate" Map
2x Mad Hozen Elixir

Admittedly, I have gotten better contents. The other day, I received 3 elixirs, 2 healing potions, one grey and 24 gold.

Wikky is so adorable but very small & so very easy to miss. Make sure when you've summoned him & he runs off to forage for you, look in your chat box or next to your leg to see if he has returned. I almost missed him by a mili-second. Just a heads up.

EDIT: ALSO, when he comes back, HE DOES NOT MOVE WHEN YOU MOVE, SO.....be VERY careful to not strafe around because if you're busy killing something & running around & he's reappeared, if you move away from him he WILL NOT follow you & will de-spawn within a few seconds after he returns & you will have wasted his summon & will have to wait 2hrs to call him back!

With the release of Timeless Isle, you can now abuse this item to the max by killing Spotted Swarmers - little neutral caterpillars in packs of 10, near Old Pi'jiu, these fellas have very little hit points, kill 4 packs and you can collect your free bag of stuffs.

this drops from the rare , you use it, talk to the little hozen that appears and youll get a 2hour buff. if you kill 50 pve enemies WITHIN THE 2 HOURS little wikky will return and stay where you killed your 50th enemy. You then talk to him and you'll receive a bag with some elixirs and (for me then) some motes of harmony...
note: this works in raids too! i used it in firelands and after 50 mobs of trash the little fella popped up :p
i have no idea wether this works in pvp. Wouldn't try it tho unless youre very good because the buff REMOVES AT DEATH so don't try any stupid ideas xp

- the buff removes after you talk to wikky so you can only get the bag once
- if you move on and didn't see wikky talk when he came back he'll despawn and your item has a useless 2hr cd

There doesn't seem to be anything that says the use and effect of the item is limited to pandaria.Does this mean that i could take the whistle and kill 50 low level enemies in say durotar and get the foraged item?Or is the fact its limited to pandria meant to be one of those unsaid things that everyone knows?

Good news everyone! It appears Wikky credit is awarded from this daily http://www.wowhead.com/quest=30243. Very easy and safe! Just hop into a cauldron and then proceed to oil->light up 50 mantid, you'll even get some bonus gold for sure with doing the daily and have a high enough kill-counter to know when Wikky will reappear in case you miss the whistle.

Just wanted to add another location to the helpful areas for using "Wikky" if you are Alliance.

I have found the BEST PLACE BAR NONE based on time to kill is The Tahret Grounds, just South of the Obelisk of the Stars in Uldum.

It's in the same area as the quest for Thieving Little Pluckers so it's easy to find. Portal from Stormwind to Uldum, then 5 seconds flight time.

If you are on the daily quest above, then the kills do not start to register until you have "Smashed" 30 of the little pluckers with your hammer.

Once that's done OR if you are not doing the daily - you're free to run around annihilating the Pygmy's - and the respawn rate is awesome !

With my Mage running round AoE'ing with Arcane Explosion, it takes just over a minute for Wikky for return !

So any of you with decent AoE - let me know how u do.

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!

Killed #50 PVE mobs in Vale of eternal Blossom / Tu shen Burial ground and he did not spawn. :/

(in fact did it twice) Stood absolutely still on 50th Kill both times and nothing.! I killed a few extras to make sure.
seems I have to wait the 2 hours ;/

No longer works. Used this many times over a few weeks. He did not spawn once. I was killing things in Pandara. I think it may be a level 90 only item. Once you hit over 90 then it no longer works.

Since I don't see any current posts about this item, I thought I'd share my recent tests with my 120 mage.

Results from killing 50-60 mobs in the following areas:

Pandaria - Vale of Eternal Blossoms - no Wikky
Draenor - Frostfire Ridge - no Wikky - attempted in Magnarok (assault area) and in a nonassault area
Legion - started in Azsuna, ended on Argus - Wikky appeared and gave me a Bag of Helpful Things. Loot = 21 silver, 2 Mote of Harmony, 3 Pandarian elixirs/potions
BfA - Vol'dun - Wikky appeared and gave me a Bag of Helpful Things. Loot = 14 silver, 1 Mote of Harmony, 5 Pandarian elixirs/potions, 1 junk item

As cparle87 stated in a comment above, "it would seem that you only receive credit for monsters high enough to give you experience." So at max level that would be mobs from the current and the most recent expansions (i.e. BfA and Legion at the moment). It does not seem to matter if they give you rep for killing them or not.

You do have to be in Pandaria to do the initial summon of Wikky. When Wikky returns to you, you should hear a sharp whistle as he runs up to you and says something. Talk to him to claim the Bag of Helpful Things.

Just killed about 200 things, 100 in Vale and 100 in Valley, and he didn't come back. Still have the buff. First time using it and it doesn't work :/

With MoP Remix around the corner, it might be worth looking into some of these items that are limited to Pandaria only.

Battle Horn An AoE that does no damage but will aggro everything in a 40-yard radius around you. Useful for rounding stuff up
Salyin Battle Banner Works a bit like a Rogue's Vanish, if you find yourself in a tough spot, and will drop you out of combat
Eternal Warrior's Sigil 90% of health and mana regen over 6 seconds
Cursed Swabby Helmet Makes you swim really fast and gives underwater breathing
Aqua Jewel An inferior version of the above
Essence of the Breeze Whenever you press jump you go forward about 5 yards. Makes you a little bit faster and useful if your class lacks mobility
Hardened Shell World PvP
Helpful Wikky's Whistle (which gives Bag of Helpful Things which can contain potions)

This works in Pandaria remix, FWIW, although the potion bonuses are so low they won't make much difference!

(I'm also the proud owner of some motes of harmony, which I don't think have any use at all in Remix. Shame you can't trade them for bronze!)
