Easily solo'd at level 9 as a Shaman. She seems to have a smaller aggro radius than your own, and when she does aggros, only aggros one at a time. The quest is very simple and does not require two people.

Very easy to do solo. (Level 9 Shaman) If you can kill those owl's by yourself one at a time, you can escort this lady.

If you have the quest The Lost Fisherman, do the escort first, the escort ends at that guy.

I spent all my time running around trying to FIND this chick... I found the guy she leads you too before I found her... Maybe I'm just SPECIAL... Oh well...

How to EASILY FIND HER!

She's on the lonely island that is in the most western/southern part of the map
((I did a mistake and on the screenshot I posted I said western/eastern... oppsies hehe))

She is beside (on the west side) this giant driftwood log in the most northern part of the island.
She is knelt down with a big yellow ! above her head.

Her escourt takes you directly through the centre of the island down to the south part of it.

Do this quest along with "The Missing Fisherman"

I soloed this quest as a level 9 shammy. Eeeeeeeeeeeeasy!

For whatever reason, Magwin always falls through the dock into the water at the end. Pretty amusing.

She aggros ~5 owlbeasts as you run through, but not more than 2 at a time, from what I can tell. Pretty simple quest.

umm...is this quest even worth it, exp or reward wise?? Cuz I would rather just run around and kill a few things to get the EXP...why would they bother with a quest this low??

soloed at lvl 9 hunter... 7 attacks all seperate quite easy i still think they should send u around the edge instead of straight down the middle - would be alot easier then... lol

I'll echo Silma. Why is this a group quest?

Note for wand-wielders: Use your wand to finish off the mobs. It saves a lot on mana by not using your spells full-blast and you won't have to drink at all throughout the entire escort. That's for priests and mages, of course. No warlocks start on Azuremyst Isle. Shamans, use melee weapons for the exact same reason.

The reputation for this quest may be awarded based on race. I just completed it (Gnome) and received 150 Exodar rep and 63 Gnomeregan Exiles rep. Can any other races confirm?

Soloed with ease as a lvl 9 priest. I don't know why this has a Suggested 2 Players tag on it, but, as one pster said if you can kill a single owlbeast at a time you can do this quest NP. And, Magwin is actually not a completely stupid AI escort for once, she never aggros more then one mob and moves in a straight line.

Magwin's Lines:

Help me! (Only phrase she said while attacking the Owlbeasts)

My poor family. Everything has been destroyed. (Upon seeing the wrecked house)

Father! Father! You're alive!

Cowlen: Daughter!

Magwin hugs her father.

You can thank <name> for getting me back here safely, father.

Sweet ending to a pretty sad quest cluster.

As of 4/1/09 a Draenei priest received all of the rep listed at the top (63s with the various factions etc)

Just rolled a hunter for 4.0.1 and I noticed her pathing changed from the last time I did this quest (I think thats was 3.2) and I noticed it is now suggested to be a group quest. Magwyn now goes to the west a bit and heads towards the back of the house before she heads to the dock. 4 owlbeasts were all I had to kill and She only pulled one at a time. They were easily dispatched with her beating my pet to the mob for a kill shot every time so it I'd say it's still solo-able.

For those w/o coordinates. She is on the coastline just above the M in Silvermyst Isle. You can miss her easily as she is hidden behind a large piece of driftwood on the beach.

Tried it today, I escorted her all the way but when you get close to Cowlen you phase out and in. It's quite annoying it looks like it consumes a lot of memory, the computer moves very slow when you get close to him and as you get to the end of the dock you phase out from Azuremyst Isle and phase in to "The Veiled Sea". Then Magwin disappears and you can only see Cowlend but can't finish quest. Shame for the waste of time.

Take care with this quest. Fighting at lvl 8 or above is easy enough, and she won't die if you keep her eye on her, but when you're finally done, and get back to her father, the screens transition to "Veiled sea" area.

At this point, she will sometimes randomly vanish, and you will be unable to complete the quest. You can abandon, and pick it up again, but failing over and again due to the same issue is a nightmare.

Figured I'd edit this a little and help out those who keep having the same problem I did.

To complete this quest first time without the "Vanishing Magwen" problem, walk behind the girl when you get to the pier. If you stay a little way further back, she will stop, and the "quest complete" will flash up, shortly before she runs forward to her father.

Even if she vanishes when you make the screen transition to Veiled Sea where he father is yourself, you can still hand in the quest without an issue. :)

1. A Cry For Help
• Accept A Cry For Help from Magwin at coords 13.6, 73.2 (she is located on the beach near a log). If she isn't there, just wait as someone else is doing the escort quest already.
• Escort Magwin south to a pier at coords 15.8, 93.1.
• Walk out to the end of the pier and turn in the quest to Cowlen.

Back at the start of TBC this would not have been trivial. My level 13 Shadow Priest had to play well, play smart. Take a rough guess at the path and clear the way a bit to Cowlen on the other side of the island.

She likes to run quick but YOU will draw aggro along the way. I had my stamina buff drink, my spirit scroll and of course my Fortitude and I had to self heal and grab a quick drink of mana a couple of times. I was well fed too.

Like all escort quests make sure she gets to Cowlen alive AND you do to. A final Fade to ease my way down onto the beach helped no end.

Was very confused initially, but it appears that characters who are on the intro to Argus questline cannot see or do this quest.

Just completed this quest today on the bc prepatch. It's so weird though, of all my years of playing I never knew this quest was there lol. I always did the remains quest and assumed they all died.. It was kinda neat to complete for the first time.

Description
