He starts immune to all damage and attacks, there are 4 statues in the 4 corners of the arena that do constant damage of different types. If you run up to one and start to deal damage it will change form and stop dealing damage. You most likely must kill all 4 statues to kill him or at the very least 1.

You need the Digmaster's Earthblade in order to challenge Mingus Diggs.
You get this item from archeology and so far the only drops that have been found were from Tol’Vir dig sites so it’s possible that you specifically need to search in Uldum.
You can also get the item from buying Tol’Vir crates from Bran Bronzebeard at the Seat of Knowledge.
To buy a crate you need a Restored Artifact which you can create from a solved Pandaren, Mogu or Mantid artifact.
You can also buy Restored Artifacts with Spirit of Harmony from the Spirit of Harmony vendor in your main city in Pandaria.

Oh for the love of God talk about impossible on a Warrior! You have to constantly run back n forth to let the stacks drop off, while barely getting in any DPS since we have no ranged abilities, and even using heroic leap/ double time charge isn't enough to repeatedly move and DPS all 4 statues before the enrage timer. This WILL require either absolute insane DPS and full ToT Heroic Gear (still iffy) or a giant nerf.
Was pulling 124k DPS and it wasn't enough with our inability to ranged attack

This is probably the hardest boss in the Brawlers Guild at the moment. The dps and survival requirements are much harsher than Ahoo'ru for example. Multidotters will likely find it far easier than melee dps, especially slow melee specs.

Don't try to move between the statues too soon unless you have very mobile ranged dps. Your best bet is likely to nuke down 2 statues without resetting the other 2, and only then reset once on each remaining statue. You'll lose too much dps on travel times otherwise.

Killed yesterday on my rogue, had about 2 seconds left on enrage with 160k dps, definitely the most gear dependent fight in brawlers excluding maybe blind hero which nobody has seen.

The best tip i can give melee at this point is swap as little as possible, i know the damage ramps up but with current tier gear you don't have time to run around if you intend to beat the timer.

I would recommend using CD's early to nuke either the first or second and time any spell immunities (cloak, bubble, ams) to clear a large stack in order to stay and nuke another. You may or may not have to swap for the last 2 but it should be doable with around 530+ ilvl

The item: You get it by doing Tol'vir digsites and hoping that you're lucky enough to get it. I got it on my second digsite in Tol'vir. IIRC You need 450+ Archaeology to do Tol'vir (in Uldum).

It's a very hard fight, requiring in the region of 170k DPS to complete within the time limit.

It's a four-horseman type fight where you have to destroy 4 mobs in each of the four corners of the arena.

When you stand near one, it hides away and doesn't do damage to you, however the other three corners will be nuking you constantly. They apply a DoT which does x damage per second. This can stack to over 100 per DoT from each corner.

When you kill one corner, that mob is entirely disabled so you won't take any damage from that one any longer.

There are two tactics:

1.) Nuke down one by one (Killing first one -> Killing second without touching or hardly touching the others, depending on how fast you can DPS and what cooldowns you have to survive). You will probably have to swap early on the 3rd and 4th corner because of the crazy high stacks (90++)

2.) Some damage on all (e.g. Multi-DoT)

I completed this fight as Wind Walker monk by using Strategy #2 as you can see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfJxE3QEJ68 . I used Storm Earth and Fire to my advantage here to take 2 down at the same time, while weakening two, to clear myself of debuffs. Last phase is a simple 800k~ nuke. The dwarf can be stunned even though he's in the bubble so you can reduce the damage you take by a tiny amount if you stun him. Looking at the video now, I could have potentially just gone back and forth between the first two and skipped the last 2 if I held out for a couple of seconds longer (and delayed my CDs a couple of seconds) which would have saved 5-10 seconds~ of useless movement.

You have to keep several things in mind:
Maximum DPS -> Minimize movement -> Your EHP (Effective Health Pool) for the encounter -> Cooldowns / Jammy mechanics -> Anything you can setup before the fight starts while standing around in the arena (e.g. teleport / portals / health orbs)

Just beat it from several tries. My DPS at the end was 160k as BM with spirit beast and 525ilvl.
What find useful is to go for max self heal.
Talents:

Use glyphs:

to heal up when go from statue to statue.
to jump off, even when use diagonal range, when there are 3 statues.
to get max heal from all of above + pet heal.

I kill statues by order from begin. And start directly on top of the first. Pet stay on next that will kill all the time, while I walk to fall off debuff. My self heal and heal from pet was enough to keep me up. I switch statues on nearly 30stacks.

edit: was alone, so only have my self buffs.

Did this as a fire mage with 526 ilvl, 4pc t15, no legendary meta gem.

talents i picked were:
PoM
Ice Barrier
RoF (3rd tier talent doesnt matter)
Cold Snap
Nether Tempest
Invocation

tactic:
Start the fight off in the center of the room. Pop mirror images and time warp, then put nether tempest on all 4 statues. choose one, dps it down. if you get your combust procs lined up too late on the first statue due to bad rng, swap to a different statue and use your pyros+combust on that so you don't overkill the first.

Keep refreshing Nether Tempest on the statues, preferably before Time Warp wears off so that the DoT gets the 30% haste.

When your Ice Barrier wears off and you start to take some damage, ice block to remove all debuffs. Cold snap as soon as you can benefit from the heal and then ice block again when your debuffs get high. The ice blocks will save you a lot of time because you don't have to run around and reset your debuffs.

I had about 3 seconds left on the enrage.

Big tip here for any physical dps that can't get an attack speed buff (Ret pally here.) because they're almost all auras (Which you don't benefit from while in the area.) I kept falling just short of dps on this, so I got a hunter with a hyena pet to use Crackling Howl RIGHT before I got teleported in. Made all the difference and beat it with 10 seconds to spare.

528 ilvl feral druid doing 138k on this (no buffs because my server is dead) and I cant even get the fourth statue down let alone kill mingus before the enrage. Closest I've gotten is 1 million left on fourth statue

Being melee, and having a complex system of resource management that gets screwed over by constant target switching, this has got be as frustrating as hexos.

I really think they should have made it so that you may only self-buff, and then scaled the health down to compensate, rather than REQUIRING you to get a set of raid buffs just to complete these. It really is blatant apathy, and that's not even mentioning the fact that the mechanics of this fight (and most other fights) FAVOR ranged over melee by a large margin.

Only advice I can give is target switch as little as possible and beg people to come and buff you if you are only missing it by a small margin, it is a much better alternative than waiting months and months for 20 more ilvl to make up for the lack of buffs. That or reroll something that isn't consistently CRAPPED ON by blizzard's encounter designers.

Just completed this as a 553 asn rogue with legendary cloak on the first attempt.
Popped potion before combat started and waited in corner, opened on one statue with cooldowns, sprinted to next, smokebombed, then cloaked once stacks were around 45. Once 2nd was down I rocket boots'ed to the 3rd corner, dropped my stacks, then ran to the 4th corner, finished it, keeping feint and recup up. Prepped and sprinted back to the 3rd corner, finished it, by this time vendetta was up again, popped it on boss and finished, not sure how long was left on timer.

Few tips for shadow priests;

Mingus himself can be feared to save a bit of extra damage on you while you kill the statues
Start with a Shield/Pom/Renew on yourself and keep these up when you can
Halo works best for this fight, stand in the middle of the room so it hits all 4 at the start
After halo dot all 4 up and focus one down with your pet, then repeat on next etc
Use 3 orb DP to heal yourself up when you can
Keep VE for when you're low and possibly dot the last one up and dispersion and let it die to dots
If you're a bit low on dps, dont forget to pre pot and you can also use bloodlust drums.

I did this at 564ilvl and it took me 2-3 attempts as i needed to know when to use self heals & shields. Mingus himself only has around 800k hp, so use everything you have on the statues, once they are dead is pretty much a win unless you are really tight on the berserk timer.

Just beat him today as a 541 Feral Druid, ran with the Misty Noodles (300 agi) Agi flask, and brawlers bottomless agi pot. During the fight I used SotF and Natures Vigil talents, Drums of rage and engi gloves at opportune times to increase my damage and regain some health. Also had warrior shout and BoM as buffs. killed it half a second before the enrage timer doing 153.8k DPS, hope this helps!

An item that's really helpful for this fight is Cursed Talisman . It drops from this rare, Spelurk, in the Timeless Isle. It wont be easy to get, but it really made a huge difference.

Beaten today as a 536 Retribution Paladin.

Very difficult fight, took me about a dozen attempts. I'll explain how I went about it and hope it's of any use to you.

First of all (I haven't seen this explained in any comment, so I thought it might be useful to put it out there), the main boss, Mingus Diggs, is invulnerable to any form of damage until you kill all four statues in the corners of the arena. Your goal is to take these down, before finally finishing off Mingus Diggs himself.

Buffs I had on me were:
Dark Intent
Legacy of the Emperor
Blessing of Might
Visions of Insanity (gained from Crystal of Insanity, which is looted from either Sulik'shor, or an Eerie Crystal found in a cave on the Timeless Isle).

Tactics:
Start in either of the corners closest to Boss Bazzelflange (west side of the minimap). Just before combat starts, pop your Bottomless Potion of Brawler's Might and your Guardian of Ancient Kings. Now, nuke the hell out of that first statue, using all your offensive and defensive cooldowns as necessary. This first statue should be going down fairly quickly.

Run to the statue on the east side of the mini map, the one closest to you. Do some damage to it, but run to the other statue on the east side once your stacks fall off. Do the same with the next statue, let your stacks reset and afterwards return to the west side of the arena.

Here, go for the kill. You will get a lot of stacks. Use your defensive cooldowns and use your Divine Protection to drop stacks when they get too high (don't forget to use /cancelaura, or you will deal 50% damage for the duration).

Run to the east side, drop your stacks at one of the statues and go for the kill on the other one. After this one, finish off the last one. If you have the Evil Eye of Galakras, your Avenging Wrath will have reset around this point. You could combine this with your potion, as you've pre-potted.

After this, kill Mingus Diggs.

This is vastly more difficult to melee.
I am not in heroic raid gear (which would make this possible for me) but in fully decked out LFR gear and only maybe 1 or 2 items from heroic/normal.

So, this Mingus Diggs is pretty impossible for me... i have the brawler title, no doubt... but this challengs is by far the impossible one if i dont acquire full heroic gear.
I have killed Blingtron for example.

My closest attempt was having all statues down or below 5% hp... pretty much last hit wouldve killed the last statue but i got killed by the enrage timer, then theres ofcourse Mingus himself left...
So as a fury warrior do not expect to get this down as a casual player.
I was using 1000 strength potion nothing else.

Took a few attempts to get the perfect rhytm to change target and heroic leap/charge... first statue died during burst and then there was only 3 left... the usual tactic.

Pretty disappointed at how it requires gear rather than skill. :P
Atleast some of the bosses in brawler arent all about gear... i think.

EDIT: the downvoting is pointless, brawlers guild has always been about gear... theres no question about it, at later date i was easily able to clear brawlers when i was raiding and fully decked out in the best possible raid gear. If youre in quest greens youll be very hard pressed to clear brawlers guild. Not sure if that has been changed throughout the years. Mage Tower was much better skill related challenge.

The hardest boss of all other card bosses for achievement Deck Your Collection (Season 1).. Boss is DPS, speed and cooldown distribution check, where itemlevel is recommended 525+. Delete Vendetta glyph, Leeching poison is recommended. Use Combat Readiness + 2 Evasions, Blind and Smoke Bomb. Use 2 prepots. Burst first monument with ShadowBlades, the second with Vendetta. Then put Rupture on the 3rd and switch to the fourth. Delete stacks by Cloack on the 50% of second statue. Sprint/Shadowstep is obligatory .To understand the rotation of cooldowns you need to check my video kill and make some tries:

Possibly obvious, but because nobody has mentioned it yet: If, like me, you discover yourself vastly out-classed by this boss and realize it's going to be a long time until you can tackle him, you can safely drop the quest to free up space in your quest log; Card Trader Ami will offer the quest again whenever you're ready.

One thing I wanted to add to all these tips, the main part of this fight is surviving and dpsing the statues. The guy himself goes down in seconds. When I beat him I actually finished off the last statue right when enrage hit and was able to dps/kite Mingus to the other side of the room away from the rain of fire. I got credit and lived through it :)

As an arms warrior, ilevel 556:

I used a Potion of Brawler's Might, Recklessness, and Skull Banner to destroy the first statue, waiting in the corner to kill it the moment it went live.

I Charged the second statue and used Dragon Roar/Bloodbath on it to bring it down.

Then I Heroic Leapt across the room and destroyed the third, then hit the fourth. Brought them all down with about 40 seconds left and killed Mingus.

Has anyone tried him in WoD yet?

I tried today on my Feral Druid and was pretty much dead before I could get the first statue down. Granted I only had about 17k dps so the easy answer is "do more dps".

But just wondering if anyone else has had success. Since it seems like most of the success with the last expansion was from fairly (relatively) high ilvl players and even then some classes faired better than others.

Hilariously easy as a well-geared moonkin. Pop celestial alignment + incarnation and dot up all 4 statues. Once all your dots are up, starfall (alternatively, use starfall at the start). Spam starsurge when you don't have an empowered moonkin buff up and spam starfire when you do. If you start to get low, put up nature's vigil. Mingus Diggs was dead in about 30 seconds and I never fell below 50% health.

I've been stuck in this battle for months, hoping that new patches with higher gear lvl cap will let me win.

Sadly, as of patch 6.2 and a 704 geared Beast Hunter, while some classes manage to beat him, it seems to be tactically impossible to win. Increasing dps will give you some extra seconds, but after taking down the first and second statue, by the time you start hitting the third one, the stacks are too high and eventually, even using all kind of healings that a hunter could have, you'll die.

so i get stuck spamming heals, till the stacks are too high and i die anyway.

For warriors; you can use Second Wind. Kill the first one asap, after that dps the 2nd one a bit. When you have the 2nd on about 50%~75% (depending on your dps) switch to the other 2 to reset your debuffs. When you reset your debuffs from the 3rd and 4th, go back and kill the 2nd one. The last 2 remaining shouldn't be an issue by then. Second wind is amazing here!

At 6.2.3, my Paladin is fairly well gear. Still takes a full lay on hand plus all of my cooldown to burn down all 4 statues. I'm going to wear the shirt from here on out.

Playing catch up with these achievements and am just starting/completing the guild as a 710 BM/Marks Hunter.

Beat Mingus in BM spec with a spirit beast, with the thought that I can focus on getting from statue to statue quickly and my pet can stay on the statues while I move and get in a few shots on the way. I specced into blink strike so my pet could also move between statues fairly quickly. The spirit beast heal was helpful in this fight as well.

So what you basically want to do is try not to let any statue's stacks get too high (i set a goal of 25 to 30). This means you're going to be almost constantly running between them (sorry non-hunters) and standing near the statue whose debuff you want to clear for ~3 or 4 seconds. Also keep in mind that the statues are rather far apart and you should try to make sure you stay in range of your primary target statue until it's dead if you can. Make ample use of disengage and a rocket belt if you've got it, in order to get from one statue to another quickly.

Mingus himself is wimpy and if you can get past his statues you just gotta burn him down.

Did this as an i701 Feral druid just now. Used Ysera's Gift and just ran from one corner to another, putting dots up (getting to 5 combo points as best I could) before applying rip and running to the next. The instant healing touch from 5 CP is very, VERY useful. Rake, shred a few times, rip, leave for next target.. I didn't drop below 70% health (343k max health right now), and the instant HT brought me back up to 90% several times.

Not sure if this has been advised before, but kill the statues which are on the side the berserk/fireballs comes from. I only had one statue left, but it was on the side where the fireballs start raining down from, and I died before I could finish off Mingus. Swapping sides I was able to kill him just as I died from the fireballs.

As Fury my strategy was to focus one on the fireball side, and kill it, then move on to the other on that same side and bring it down to around 50%. After that, run over and clear stacks from the others. Return and kill the 50% one. Then just choose one of the other two and kill it. No need to swap as you should be able to out heal the damage with Second Wind, and if things go bad just pop Rallying Cry. Be sure to use Victory Rush after each statue kill as well.
