Hot air balloon should be floating above the pile of rocks at . If the balloon is not there the phasing may be bugged. If this happens close wow down completely and reload. This should fix the problem.

And what if you die? So happened to me! :-/

Unfortunately I am struck with frequent disconnects now, when I try to login and play that char to recover the body.

(a little later) I managed to access the location of my tombstone, but no body and no way of resurrecting myself. Any ideas?

Very aggravating as a hunter. Your pet despawns and you can't recall it. You are also confined to melee range and can't use any of your normal ranged attacks; you are locked into place.

I have done all the quests from south ashenvale to get into Stonetalon mountains, I am stuck at 10/55. there are no more quest available to me in the whole region. is this bugged. what should I do to get the 45 quests left that I need to my loremaster?

Just did this quest twice, to see whether you can fail it by leaving the power core up. The first time I used Fan of Knives (as 85) and destroyed all adversaries on the spot. This lets you dismount The Bomb with quest completion, and you have to fly to Windshear. Second time, I killed the Overseers only and took the ride to Windshear.

That's probably the true quest objective, cause when it was near Windshear, The Bomb stopped and I dismounted it, with quest completion; if you're lazy you can thus kill the Overseers, and as you're then piloting the thing you can afk for a minute and end up at Windshear. Leave any of the Overseers up probably fails you the quest as said below, needing you to retake it.

Quest is bugged for Panda's in Beta. can't click on the rope to fly the balloon.

Found similar bugged quests where panda's couldnt do them, or interact or see an npc. It was just because they weren't flagged for pandas yet. For the other ones you just needed to have another non panda help with the quest. Don't know if it'll help with this one.

This quest is bugged for my Night Elf monk in beta. Cannot click the rope to get up to the balloon.

There will be hijackers coming on board to distract you but to accomplish quest target the center structure of the balloon and attack it.

The balloon wouldn't appear, so I logged out as one of the comments suggested. It didn't work. So I followed another comment's suggestion and flew to another zone (northern barrens is right there) and flew right back, and the balloon was waiting for me. Just click the rope at the bottom and it'll bring you right up!

Broken in 5.3 as a 28 draenei warrior. Balloon is there, rope is clickable but nothing happens on click. Tried relogging to no effect; same with exiting the game and reloading.

Come on, Blizz, focus! This quest is sort of important!

I have my Draenei Hunter doing this quest, but no matter how I click, right click or shift click or any other click the ladder, it wont let me climb the ladder. I have quit and come back a day latter and it still wont work. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Has anyone else had this issue and been able to solve it?

Although the balloon is there,clicking the ladder doesnt seem to have any effect at all.Tried everything but didnt have any result.It's really a shame as its impossible to complete the Stonelaton Mountains quest for the loremaster achievement without it.

The rope to the balloon does not appear.
I have tried:
-Flying in and out of the zone
-Logging out and back in
-Restarting WoW
-Leaving zone on foot and walking back in, then leaving again and using my hearthstone in windshear hold.
-Killing nearby mobs
We pay for this kind of service, people have been reporting this bug for four years, and still nothing has been done. Pathetic.

I tried everything flying to another place and return, abandon and retake the quest, close and open the game again nothing worked.

then did a last attempt by restarting the computer and voila la it worked!

BE AWARE:

This quest is bugged, and has a chance for the rope ladder to either vanish too quickly, or not appear at all. The devs have known about this issue since 2013 (see links below) but as yet the quest is NOT fixed. If the quest is bugged for you, submit a ticket asking that your character have the quest flagged as "completed" so you can carry on with the zone story-line. Some people have reported that the rope ladder has a chance to appear "after the next day" (possibly after maintenance?) so if your ticket isn't answered quickly, you may want to check if this has happened for you "the next day".

Addendum: Not entirely sure what fixed this, but for the Horde version I played on another char for a couple hours, got to the same zone, and during the Mr D quest, the balloon's rope appeared. After completing the Mr D quest on this alt character, I quickly switched to bugged character, and the rope was still visible - so I grabbed it, and voila. Sorted. A similar method may be viable for Alliance.

Please note - this quest is still bugged, but can fix itself apparently, provided some unexplained circumstances occur. My guess is, it's something to do with the volume of characters questing in the area. Last time I went through here I had no issues

Ride the Krom'gar Hot Air Balloon and attempt to stop it from destroying Windshear Hold.

Description

We don't have a moment to lose, <name>. You're going to have to commandeer that hot air balloon and stop it!

How? I have no idea! We don't have time to argue details! Grab onto that rope ladder and climb up! Just start banging on stuff once you're inside!

If you somehow manage to stop the balloon and survive, report to Lord Fallowmere at Windshear Hold in the west.

Good luck, we're all counting on you. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to RUN FOR MY LIFE!
