Just hit revered and this opened up. Very simply quest; just run up to the Roaming Jormungur, throw the adamantite ore at it, DPS it down a little then the king runs in as a ghost, throws it up in the air and eats it. It's an extremely cool quest, pretty quick to do and will fit in nicely with the others.

Oh, and Wowhead is wrong about the reputation. It gives 350.

As a hunter you might be having problems with this quest.
Reason i believe is you are using pet. If the jormungar is targetting PET when it goes down to the state where it gets eaten, you will not get questcredit.

What i do is simply put pet on passive and solo kill it in melee range.

This is a great quest to stack up with Spy Hunter, since I found that my Ethereal Worg would frequently bump into the Roaming Jormungar needed for this quest anyhow. I can usually get at least three or four of my worms fed to Arngrim by the time I find my third Stormforged Infiltrator.(##RESPBREAK##)258##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

Use the item on the Roaming, dps them down to below ~40%, but don't use too much dps, you can actually "kill" them, as in normal mob kill, not counting for this quest, as the event takes a few seconds, so be careful with powerful DoTs or finishing moves.

Any hunters who have tried some of the suggestion above yet failed to get credit, put pet on passive, throw the charge, shoot the worm while it runs in, then melee until Arngrim shows. You may take a few hits, but you'll get credit for the quest.

I've gotten credit 100% of the time doing it this way. Anything else and it's about 50 / 50 if I get credit for the quest, even when the worm is still alive when Arngrim comes to feed.

Very simple fix for the current hunter bug, just shoot the worm with a distracting shot around 55% so that it targets you before the quest part happens.

You will not get credit if the target is stunned when Arngrim would come out. Do not stun it when it's low on health or you risk this.

Do not kill the worm. You will not get credit. It gets eaten by Arngrim's spirit when its health reaches 25%.

(Naxx geared ret pally: The worms die a lot from Judgement -> Crusader strike -> Divine Storm.)

As a warrior I wasn't too bothered about the worms dying from dots etc and they need to be down to 20% for execute but beware you can still kill them with an ill timed 4000+ crit. Steady away

As a hunter, I find that if I turn growl off and use AotD, it works just fine. It usually gets weakened before it gets to me.

PS. If you can pull a mob off your pet when it's a 50% health with just distracting shot, your doing something wrong.

I disagree. If your pet has enough time to build that much aggro against these mobs that a Distracting Shot doesn't pull aggro, then you're doing something wrong.

make sure Angrim is done feeding before engaging another worm, or you wont get credit for the second one. it'll just reach the point where he would feed, but he'll not show up.

First important thing to know is that you need to be Revered to get this Daily quest

Second of all the best thing for doing this quest is to do it with the two dailys west of Dun Niffelm.

When you see a Roaming Jormungar cast the quest item Arngrim's Tooth and nuke the worm down to 30-20% and done.

I can confirm, at least as of today, that hunter's will still get credit even if their pets have aggro. Never done this quest before today, so it might have just been fixed in the small patch that just came out, but either way, there's no need to melee them down anymore.

This quest currently has an issue where you sometimes do not get credit for a mob. As a Death Knight, I am experiencing it as well even when I have aggro and my pet does not, which would seem to contradict earlier theories. I have two of my own:

My killing blow does so much damage that the mob doesn't give me credit because its health is never in the proper range.
My pet is getting the killing blow.

Another possible reason that people don't get credit is that you kill the worm too fast, before Arngrim appears and eats it. In fact you shouldn't kill the worm, as Arngrim would eat the worm when it is low in health and gives you the credit. Sometimes I need to stop attack completely to make sure I don't kill the worm before he comes.

Ok, I am 8K+ rep into Rev. And for some odd reason I am unable to get this quest ? Any ideas on why this could be, or maybe I may have over looked a quest from the past, that acutally is a pre-req to receive all of the daily's ?

Without a doubt, the most annoying part of this quest is that the worms take a couple seconds to go immune and the event to start. As a fairly well-geared mage, I can take them from 60% to dead with one spell if I get a crit, thus killing the mob and robbing me of quest credit. The killed mobs also despawn, so you don't even get loot as a consolation prize!

Damn I hate this quest. My lightning bolts crit 7-9k and have the chance to proc lightning overload which crits 3.5-4.5k. :P Quite annoying how quickly these worms die...

The Roaming Jormungars does now look slightly darker (a bit like shadow form, only slightly lighter) and transparent when getting hit by Arngrim's Tooth.

It's really annoying how quickly these Jormungar die, as others have stated. So, as a mage, I just throw up Ice Barrier and Molten Armor and wait. I'm using it to level up wands. :D

I finally made it to revered, and saw this great new quest. So I came here read some of the advise for hunters, so I dismissed my pet and went after my first Jorgumar. Well? I hit him with the tooth then wittled him down to 20% then Arngrim shows up and eats him! Sweet right? NOOOO! No credit? okay did it a couple more times? No credit? Any ideas? he shows up EVERYTIME but i get no credit for the feedings?

I can't find Amgrim anywhere in the Storm Peaks. This quest is bugged. He's not at all where the SS shows. Someone please clarify this for me, I'm nearly exalted with Hodir.

I do like the ghost/spirit beasts that hunters can tame and have for a pet, so with 20 stable slots for pets in patch 4.0.something; I had to get this one.

I'd like to add a warning for hunters who want to tame this pet:

Tame the lvl 79, it stays as a ghost, not the lvl 80 one.

I am lazy, so I thought I'd tame the lvl 80 and not have to worry about lvling it later.

I did the quest, the worm turned "ghost" I tamed it. I dismissed the worm, it came back "normal", not "ghost". Tried this 3 times with the lvl 80 worms, same each time.

Then I tamed the lvl 79, it remained in ghost form.

I had the WORST time with this quest because I collected all the Sons of Hodir quests together (had been grinding the snowdrift plains, so I had turned in all the relics I had before starting the quests and was Revered). If you get all your Sons of Hodir quests together, you'll have another one that has an ACTUAL tooth next to the description of it, which is for a completely different quest. I was clicking on THAT tooth instead of Arngrim's Tooth (which basically looks like a white circle with a black dot on it - not very tooth-looking). Unfortunately those two quests were right on top of each other in my quest list so it was a matter of not paying attention (just in case someone else has this problem).

Once I realized I was using the wrong picture to activate the tooth, it made sense. I never hit the worms, I just highlighted them (left mouse key) and right clicked on the tooth. Once they were disembodied (which was immediate), I attacked them with the same spells (priest) I use to kill anyone else and at some point Arngrim showed up and ate the Jormungar (i.e. I didn't have to control when to stop attacking them). I had four disembodied Jormungar following me around because I had read the comments and thought I might kill them too quick. I will say I only got credit for two of them in the beginning because there were too many for him to eat at once. I imagine it works a lot better if you just do one worm at a time (which is probably what most people do).

As a level 90 Frost DK I used Death and Decay after throwing the tooth, it worked slowly enough that Arngrim was able to eat.

At 90 this is tough, because you need to have them between 1-20% for an instant. As a lock I used drain life and sometimes got lucky with getting them to 20%. Everythign else did too much damage. I tried a green wand from wraith and it only did 250 damage, so that was not enough. Maybe a cata or MOP green wand would be good.

As a 553 Ret Pally what i did was, gather 6 worms, had , and just hit once Exorcism. It was a instant complete.

If you kill the others, you just have to remove your weapon, and it should work.

As of patch 6.0.3, the worm has 5,500 hp. As a Windwalker, my lowest damage dealing ability is just melee, which is 18,000. You do the math.

Ok, so this obviously suffered from the Legacy content buff.

Even whilst completely naked my auto-attacks were one-shotting these mobs, however I forgot one vital thing. De-buffing.

Unfortunately for some of you out there you will still probably hit too hard for these poor creatures. I have submitted a bug report for it and hopefully it will be resolved.

As for now, all I would suggest is getting naked, de-buffing and trying your luck at not killing them. Took me about 20 attempts before I finally managed to get it completed.

As a level 100 feral druid all of my attacks were too powerful, even when completely naked using only Faerie Fire or auto attack (no weapon). I had to just kill myself with fall damage and take rez sickness to do little enough damage.

As a 100 protection warrior I took off all my gear and still did massive overkill. Maybe it'll work with resurrection disease but using Relic of Ulduar is cheap and quick anyway.

Now I have to go back and it's impossible to complete these stupid "hurt them but don't kill them" quests. And there are a bunch of them in the game. Usually involving some kind of rep grind. I really hate doing quests where I have to remove all my gear and get "rez sickness." Can't these somehow be scaled for higher level players. Better yet give us some kind of toy or device that would weaken but not kill mobs. (Think Terrible Turnip with its Weakening Blow for pet battles.)

Today at level 100, I found just one way to make this quest. It is removing all items from my character (being naked), committing suicide, resurrecting with the angel to have resurrection sickness in order all attributes and damage caused decreased 75%. After doing that, I was able to hit Disembodied Jormungar to cause damage without kill them.

If you are having trouble with completing this quest duo to too high damage, then be sure you are on the quest Spy Hunter. On that quest you summon an Ethereal Frostworg which is tracking some npcs that is connected to the Spy Hunter quest but while it is tracking it will help you and attack if anything is attacking you. So use the Arngrim's Tooth on the jormungars and the worg will come to your aid and slowly damage them. That means Arngrim can spawn fast enough to eat them before they get killed.

I found this quest fairly easy to do at level 100 as a warlock without striping.

I popped my Whole-Body Shrinka' which nerfs my damage by like idk 99% or something makes my chaos bolt only do about 1k damage to level 76 players.

Yeah I guess people who missed out on Whole-Body Shrinka' had WoD rough when it came to no kill quest.

Try G91 Landshark if you have trouble one shot kill them, about half the time it works to get them low enough(~1500hp), use EZ-Thro Dynamite if you need to weaken them more.
And always weaken them before disembodied them, if you happens to kill them you still get the loot from them.
EZ-Thro Dynamite II works to.

Try different combinations to get them low enough, on my Priest its only 1 G91 Landshark, and on my Warrior i need 2 EZ-Thro Dynamite for it to work best.

PS. and there is always Resurrection Sickness (don't forget to place your armor & weapon in the bank to not get them damage)

Found an easy solution to one-shotting everything! Soft Foam Sword.

Sold by many NPCs like Jepetto Joybuzz for 50g, this toy works perfectly and has no cooldown.

Unfortunately wasn't able to complete this at level 110 now in Legion because even with ressurection sickness, you one-shot the mobs that you're supposed to feed him with.

I just tamed this today.

Some clarifications:

- The quest chain to unlock the phase/quest these guys are in starts @ the flight path K3 from the girl goblin in a building.
- The last quest you have to do in the quest chain says something about an anvil; you have to talk to the "king" and get a second quest about the anvil and when you complete that quest you'll complete the first one. Once you turn them both in, there is a frozen throne guy who will give you a blue quest, which is where this pet is from!
- The worms aren't naturally transparent so don't panic, you have to use the quest item on them.
- If you don't have a foam sword, you can turn your back to the worm before using the quest item to prevent your auto-attack from 1-shotting the worm; trap, tame.

Feeding Arngrim

You are to feed Arngrim 5 Disembodied Jormungar, then return to Arngrim's frozen image in Dun Niffelem.

You must go to the Valley of Ancient Winters and use Arngrim's Tooth on the Roaming Jormungar there. Once they have become disembodied, you must fight them until they are weakened.

Description

Arngrim's hunger was legendary.

Even in death, his expression is one of famished yearning. You find that just looking at him is making your stomach growl.

It is said that throughout his life he was never truly sated, and that there was absolutely nothing he wouldn't eat. You wonder to yourself if there might be a way to feed the old king.

No sooner does the thought enter your mind than one of the massive frozen teeth falls from Arngrim's head, bounces off of his beard and lands in your hand.
