This battle pet, along with Brutus, is one of the visiting pets you will encounter in your garrison while doing Scrappin'.

Paired with as one of your Garrison pet battle daily battles. They both have the passive ability Hearty Meal.
To start the encounter, click on the Challenge Post that has the legendary paw icon above it.

Both of these Legendary Pets are Beasts with Beast abilities (with the exception of Winter Spirit from the first pet).

I was able to beat this consistently using the following comp:
1 - Dragon Kite with Tail Sweep Call Lightning and Lift-Off
(OR-- If you don't have a Kite) Skywisp Moth also works, with Slicing Wind Cocoon Strike and Call Lightning
2 - Darkmoon Glowfly (a Breed #9 H/S is a HUGE plus!) with Slicing Wind Glowing Toxin and Confusing Sting
3 - Tranquil Mechanical Yeti with Metal Fist Call Lightning and Ion Cannon.

Start out with Call Lightning from your Moth/Kite.
Immediately swap to your Darkmoon Glowfly and put up your 2 dots (Confusing Sting then Glowing Toxin)
Ideally you haven't been crit yet, so you have a chance to use Slicing Wind once or twice before you die.
Once your Glowfly dies, swap back in your Kite/Moth.
**Double check Brutus hadn't just used Pig Out. If he just used it, you are safe to refresh your Call Lightning. If it was NOT just used, use Lift-Off/Cocoon Strike so he doesn't get off a big heal.
You should be able to finish off Brutus with your Kite/Moth still alive.

For Rukus, simply whittle him down with the remainder of your Moth/Kite's HP.
Once your Tranquil Mechanical Yeti is your last remaining pet, use Metal Fist and Call Lightning until he is sub-1k HP.
Finish him off with Ion Cannon!

Video of their demise! Brutus & Rukus making a mess in the Menagerie

This was a simple win with the popular strategy of changing their type to the Undead family via the Rot ability and then using Stampede to wildly great effect.

Team:

Apply Wild Magic and then Rot with your Sen'jin Fetish and then just Shadow Slash til he's dead, setting up one more application of Wild Magic on his resurrection round. Then bring our your Infected Squirrel and just Stampede - it will kill Brutus. Once Rukus is out, you can debuff him both with Rabid Strike which applies the Rabies debuff and then debuff him some more with Stampede until you're dead. The Cogblade Raptor makes excellent mop up work of him with just two Batter.

Two pet combo for these two wittle piggies, but it's a bit risky. You will likely need a backup pet just in case a nasty crit comes in or both of your pets die on the last round.

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry
Fel Immolate The middle ability is up to you. Call Lightning

and Clockwork Gnome
Metal Fist Again middle ability is up to you. Build Turret

I started off with Sunreaver Micro-Sentry casting Call Lightning.

Next turn I swapped for Clockwork Gnome and cast Build Turret using Metal Fist till Build Turret comes off cooldown and placed down another turret.

Brutus should be down by now, and Call Lightning should have 1 round left.

Switch to the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry and cast Call Lightning and if Sunreaver Micro-Sentry can survive the next hit cast Fel Immolate. After you cast Call Lightning the turrets should be eating away at him fairly fast. For me by the time the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry was one hit from death, Rukus was dead.

I call this Howl Bomb Overload!

Pets needed: Pandaren Water Spirit, Chrominiusx2 (EDIT- I guess now it only requires one Chrominius 02/01/16)

Start with your PWS
> Geyser
> Whirlpool
Switch to one of your Chroms
> Howl
> Surge of Power

Your Chrom will die after that.

Bring out your PWS
> Geyser
> Whirlpool

Your PWS will die here.

Your last Chrom comes out.
> Howl
> Surge of Power

Boom!

You can keep repeating this and work towards the Draenic Pet Battler to get your Pet Menagrie Level 3 blueprints. :)

My team to beat this.
Slot 1: Iron Starlette (Iron Starlette) (i do not have 2 max level iron starlette's but in theory 2x iron starlette could get the job done)
Abilities:

3. Supercharge

Slot 1: Darkmoon Zeppelin (Darkmoon Zeppelin)
Abilities:
1. Missile
2. Bombing Run
3. Decoy

Slot 3: Any pet that can deal decent damage and can take 1-2 hits in all my fights with different pets the 3th slot only took 0-2 hits.
Abilities:

3. ?

Fight stage 1 Brutus vs Iron Starlette:
Pre note: This only works when you do not get critical hit. If you do end the fight walk to the npc and heal yourself free of charge.
Turn 1: Wind-Up
turn 2: Supercharge
Turn 3: Wind-Up

You will oneshot the enemy. IF you have a second iron starlette you can repeat the proces for the second pet since this iron starlette wil now k.o.

Fight stage 2 Rukus vs Darkmoon Zeppelin:
First turn cast Bombing Run the piggy will now use Bloodfang) you will now use 2x Missile and the piggy will use 2x Hunting Party to negate the bigger damage now cast Decoy then follow up with Bombing Run whenever possible otherwise Missile now this is a close call either you or him will make it.

So if you do not make it make sure you have a pet that has atleast 1000 health (preferably more) and can do a little bit of damage.

My particular recipe is a 2 Iron Starlette smash down.

Each with Wind up & Supersharge.

A simple windup, supercharge, windup and you will one shot each little piggy.

Easy way to do this with reasonably easy to acquire pets. You can consistently beat these guys with only two pets (Raptor and Gnome) so the Tonk is just a bonus pet.

Clockwork Gnome(Speed)
Metal Fist (1)/ Repair (1)/ Build Turret (1)

Cogblade Raptor(Balance)
Batter (2)/ Overtune (1)/ Expose Wounds (1)

Darkmoon Tonk(Power and Health)
Missle (1)/ Shock and Awe (1)/ Ion Cannon (2)

1. Start with Gnome and Build Turret
2. Switch to Raptor and cast Expose Wounds.
3. Back to Gnome and Build Turret.
4. Cast Metal Fist.
5. Switch back to Raptor and Expose Wounds.
6. Switch back to Gnome and Build Turret.
7. Back to Raptor and Batter. (Or, if Gnome is alive, simply Metal Fist him).
8. If the last enemy is still alive, finish it off with your Tonk (usually not necessary).

Done and done.

You'll need the following:
Iron Starlette Any type ?/? except H/H - Everyone should have at least one of these from the Pre WoD opening quest chain.

My aim here is to develop solid strats so as to utilise and benefit from the massive XP gains these fights offer, whilst carrying pets as low level as possible.

I went with a strong hitting darkness team:

SS Crow (Alpha Strike, Call Darkness, Murder)
Dread Hatchling (Peck, Call Darkness, Nocturnal Strike)
Raven (Alpha Strike, Call Darkness, Nocturnal Strike)

Start with Crow, use Call Darkness then Murder. Depending on what happens, it's important to keep the murder buff going, if it looks like you'll have time to get in another call darkness, go for it, but Murder is the more important thing.

When the crow goes down, bring in Dread Hatchling, for me, a single call darkness was enough (because of the 100% damage buff left by Murder). The rest of the fight was simply using big hits.

This worked first try and wasn't very close at all.

I didn't have any of the full sets of pets mentioned, so I tried a combination of the strategies mentioned.

Sunreaver P/P (Fel, Plating, Lightning)
Crow S/S (Alpha, Call, Murder)
Bling S/S (SMCK, Plating, Rain)

My idea was to use Lightning to buff Murder, and both to buff Rain.

It seems a bit tricky, as the Sunreaver takes a lot of damage.

I did plating first, may have been a mistake.
Then Lightning, and Fel.
Switched to Crow, and went straight to Murder. (maybe should have done Call first)
The first opponent went down with Murder.
I did Call on the next, and went back to Murder until the crow died.
Brought out the Sunreaver again and did lightning. Sunreaver died to make that happen.
Then bling, and did rain and SMCK to win.

If you have three speedy Zandalari pets, Hunting Party spam is a simple, reliable strategy for Brutus and Rukus.

- pet 1: Black Claw, then Hunting Party. Your first pet will probably die before Brutus.
- pet 2: a Leap or two should finish Brutus. Black Claw, then Hunting Party.
- pet 3: Hunting Party will finish Rukus.

UPDATED for Legion! (with an option for quickly leveling alts 500-600K XP per hour!)

This is a FAST 100% reliable 2 pet strategy with a level 1 carry pet)

This new update uses the same cast of characters as before but includes a big explosion at the end that one of my commenters was so good to recommend., This will now allow a level 1 carry pet with pretty much 100% results. (i can not get this strat to fail)

Pets used:

Iron Starlett (1,1,1)
Darkmoon Zepplin (1,2,2) (*New and Improved* Now with explosions!)
any level 1 carry pet

Brutus:

Turn 1: Wind Up
Turn 2: Supercharge
Turn 3: Wind Up

Rukus:

Turn 4: Wind Up (keep winding up until the starlette dies)

Turn 5: Select Darkmoon Zeppelin
Turn 6: Missle
Turn 7: Missle
Turn 8: Missle until rukus gets to at or below 600 health
Turn 9: EXPLODE!

ALT Turn: Decoy (if zeppelin gets low on health -- i NEVER had to do this)

Turn 10: /dance

ALT LEVELING OPTION: As a side note, this is such a FAST pet run, it can be used to level ALTS if you are tired of the legion zone quests! The run takes a little over a minute and my lvl 102 (now 107) death knight was scoring around 11-12K xp per run. I was averaging 100K every 10 minutes -- a level about every hour to 1 1/2 hr with bathroom breaks, plus I am getting a few new lvl 25 pets to play with! (they nerfed the pet xp so that part is slow)

This method worked very easily :)

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry - use Call Lightening then Fel Immolate then Haywire
If your companion is still alive use another Fel Immolate so you keep the dot up. Next pet..

Lil' Bling - and use Make it Rain then Inflation then Blingtron Gift Package (If the combat pet isn't dead by this point) use another Inflation

If you got unlucky and need a 3rd companion use:
Clockwork Gnome - and use Build Turret, followed by Metal Fist

By using this method you should have completed the battle before needing to use a 3rd companion :)

2 pet strategy only (no pet leveling)

I like to level pets when I use the menagerie, but some people may not. I've since leveled up a 2nd Iron starlette to play around with different strategies. If your goal is to simply kill Brutus and Rukus for the daily then the following is by far the most efficient strat. If you want to level a pet then see my other strategy on this page. it works exceptionally well.

Pets used:

Iron Starlette (1-Wind Up, 1-Powerball, 1-Supercharge)
Iron Starlette (1-Wind Up, 1-Powerball, 1-Supercharge)

Brutus:

Turn 1: Wind Up
Turn 2: Supercharge
Turn 3: Wind Up (you will die but you will come back and kill him)

Rukus:

Turn 4: Wind Up (do this to kill off the first starlette)
Turn 5: Select second Iron Starlette
Turn 6: Wind Up
Turn 7: Supercharge
Turn 8: Wind Up (you will die but you will come back and kill him)

Turn 9: /dance

My Lil' Bling and Cogblade Raptor (S/S breed) completely destroyed these piggies. Blingtron starts out with Extra Plating, Make it rain, Inflation and then again Make it Rain. This finished off Brutus. One more Inflate on Rukus and my Bling was down. Cogblade raptor then used Exposed Wounds and one Batter, which, like this, deals almost 700 damage a tick, for a total of well over 2000 damage. Even if it would not have been enough, a second batter certainly would have.

Because I didn't have the pets that other folks have been mentioning, I had to come up with a plan of my own. Using hints from other people, I found a combination that works.
Clockwork Gnome
Chrominius
Tiny Harvester

Use the Gnome to Build Turret, then immediately switch to Chrominius. Use Howl, then Surge of Power. If it's still alive, then hit it with Arcane Explosion. Brutus should be dead Switch back to the Gnome, use Turrets again, then Metal Fist, until Turrets come up again. Then the Harvester's Overtune and Metal Fist until Rukus dies.

Start with Pandaren Water Spirit;

Geyser, Whirlpool
-switch to first fox
Howl, Bite (just repeat Bite until Brutus dies and you can use Bite on Rukus -untill your fox dies)
-get the Water Spirit in again
Geyser, Whirlpool (it might prolly die here - np, you need fox now)
-switch to 2. fox
Howl, Bite until Rukus die..

I did this with only 2 pets. I read the other comments about Blingatron and Sunreaver Micro Sentry being so good for this fight, but both of these are level 1 for me. I had a 25 Clockwork Gnome which works great, and I chose a Wild Golden Hatchling, that you get from pet battles in Pandaria, because it was already level 21 and I just had to use a couple leveling stones on it. For my 3rd pet I used a level 23 that was only there for experience.

Wild Golden Hatchling uses Call Lightning
Switch to Clockwork Gnome
Clockwork Gnome uses Build Turret > Metal Fist > Build Turret and dies for good.
Wild Golden Hatchling uses Call Lightning > Tail Sweep

When Brutus is about to die, I switch to my leveling pet. All it does is take one hit from Brutus and the turrets and lightning kill Brutus the same turn.

Unfortunately I have limited pets available (at least at a reasonable level), so wasn't able to follow a lot of the strats here.
But was able to put one together going through the comments. This was my strat (though relies on a little bit of luck):
Wild Golden Hatchling
Disgusting Oozling
Cogblade Raptor

Started with the Hatchling, used Call Lightning and Cyclone
Then switch out to Oozling.
Oozling uses Acidic Goo and Creeping Ooze (as my Oozling is slower he dies after this)
Bring out Cogblade Raptor
Use Batter (Brutus is down)
Use Exposed Wounds on Rukus
Switch to Hatchling and use Call Lightning (he died after using this)
Back to Cogblade and just keep using Batter until Rukus dies.

I hope this someone may find this helpful, I tried using a Glowfly and it's toxins, but it just wasn't doing enough damage, so the Oozling helped with that.

2 pet powerleveling strategy with H/H Iron Starlette

Mr. Bigglesworth x, 1, 1
Iron Starlette (H/H) 1, 1, 1
Leveling Pet

Follow this exactly:

Start with Bigglesworth.
1. Ice Tomb
2. Ice Barrier
3. Swap to Leveling Pet
4. Swap to Iron Starlette
5. Wind-Up
6. Powerball
7. Supercharge
8. Wind-Up (You should be at 50 health)
9. Wind-Up (Starlette 1st death)
10. Swap to Bigglesworth
11. Ice Tomb (Biggles may or may not die)
12. Ice Barrier (Biggles 2nd death) and swap to Starlette
13. Powerball
14. Supercharge
15. Wind-Up

If Biggles doesn't die in round 11, Brutus may get an extra shot on you before you can Wind-Up. If it's a Pig Out it shouldn't kill you unless it crits. If it's a Winter Spirit or Horn Gore it will. But the strat should work most of the time.

Opened with Sunreaver Micro Sentry, call lightning.

Switched to Darkmoon Tonk. Shock and Awe, then Ion Cannon.
At this point Rukus and Brutus swapped,

Switched to Clockwork Gnome. Build Turret

Switched back to Darkmoon Tonk, Missile, Ion Cannon when it comes off CD.
Tonk died at this point

Swapped back to Sunreaver, Call Lightning, Sunreaver diead

Gnome Metal First and Build Turret when off CD.

Barely won but this is the only combo that has worked for me.

Was struggling with these two for quite a while, but after looking at the top post and being reminded about call lightning i quickly figured out a strong strategy for them but it requires a little rng with the 3rd hit from Batter =)

The pets i used were:
Wild Golden Hatchling
Cogblade Raptor
, I didnt even use my backup pet.

Rotation:
First up, Wild Golden Hatchling with Cyclone, followed by Call Lightning, this makes for a solid start as every cyclone that hits either pet does additional mechanical damage (think it was around 61 dmg extra per hit)

Then i switched in my Cogblade Raptor and used Exposed Wounds for even more extra damage per hit, and then the multi hit beast buster Batter!

From that point on, just keep smashing them up with Batter and they'll both go down pretty quick!

The Cogblade Raptor died when the 2nd of the boars was at low health, at that point, just bring the Wild Golden Hatchling back in to finish him off with the hard hitting Call Lightning

- Call Lightning
- switch to Clockwork Gnome
- Build Turret
- Metal Fist (gnome dying, revived)
- Metal Fist (Brutus dies: if gnome dies instead, forfeit here)
- Build Turret (gnome dies)
- switch Sunreaver
- Call Lightning, dying and revived
- pass, Sunreaver dies
- Ruckus dies
- levelling pet the only survivor→profit

So someone suggested to use Explode from the Zeppelin to kill Rukus, but that always fell short by a few hp, so my husband and I started experimenting. This is what we came up with:

Use
- Lil' Bling (2, 2, 2)
- Darkmoon Zeppelin (1, 2, 2)
- ANY pet.

You can use any level 1 pet you like, since it will not take any damage. You don't even have to swap it in!

Start with Lil' Bling
Round 1: Extra Plating
Round 2: Launch Rocket - this readies the rocket, but doesn't fire it yet
Round 3 to 5: Inflation - this will put a debuff on him to take double damage. By round 5 Lil' Bling will die and resurrect with his failsafe. Don't worry though, since he's faster than Brutus he will kill him next round with
Round 6: Launch Rocket - this actually fires the earlier rocket, killing Brutus

Rukus comes out.
Round 7: Inflation - Lil' Bling is also faster than Rukus, so he will get off one round of inflation, thus applying the double damage debuff. After this round he will die for good.
Bring in Darkmoon Zeppelin.
Round 8: Missile
Round 9: Missile
Round 10: If Rukus has more than 618 health, do one more Missile, otherwise go right to Explode -> WIN!

Sometimes it might be necessary to adapt the last rounds a little. If your Zep takes too much damage before Rukus is at 618 health, (either from crits on Rukus' end or if your MIssile hits are too low), you can postpone the Explode a little, use Decoy, one more Missile and then Explode to still make it work.

Since the Zeppelin self destructs with the Explode, only your leveling pet will be left to take the fame and glory of the kill. This means it will get exp even though it was never in the fight!

Brutus and Rukus is my favorite leveling fight, this never takes more then 8 rounds, and leveling pet can be any level 1-24.

I use two Iron Starlette, the first a P/P the 2nd a P/S.

Round 1 Wind-Up
Round 2 Supercharge
Round 3 Wind-Up
Round 4 Pass, your first Iron Starlette goes down, switch in your leveling pet or Elekk Plushie in the free swap.
Round 5 Switch to the 2nd Iron Starlette
Round 6 Wind-Up
Round 7 Supercharge
Round 8 Wind-Up

I done so many fights and leveled so many pets with this, it's great, it almost never failes, very very rarely Brutus will on his 2nd attack kill your first pet , it shouldn't happen until the 3rd attack, if he does reset the match. Other then that very quik leveling.

Failproof strategy - Tested sucessfully on all 6 of my toons lol.

Pet #1: Pandaren Water Spirit
Pet #2: Alpine Foxling Kit (Any pet with howl will suffice)
Pet #3: Darkmoon Zeppelin (Any pet with decoy works)

Strategy: Water Spirit first!

Round 1: Geyser
Round 2: Whirlpool
Round 3: Swap to Howl pet
Round 4: Howl (Geyser and Whirlpool will erupt)
Round 5: Bite/scratch (anything that does damage, first pet dies here)
Round 6: Swap to decoy pet
Round 7: Cast one good attack (doesn't matter much, doing this for ability timing)
Round 8: Cast Decoy
Round 9: Swap to Water spirit and repeat steps 1-5 and win.

Water spirit and Fox most likely won't survive till end, if third pet comes out a second time it will only take a small hit 100-200 damage to win. (easy since howl will still be up)

Levelpet (stufe 1):

I start the fight with Sunreaver Micro-Sentry.

1. Fel Immolate
2. Call Lightning
if the Sunreaver Micro-Sentry should be dead at this point, you can cancel the fight.. it is again required. but in rare cases happened. otherwise.
3. switch to Clockwork Gnome --> Build Turret
4. Metal Fist
5. Metal Fist
Clockwork Gnome dies and comes back with 20% HP. so Metal Fist again and Brutus dies Rukus enter the fight. because is slower than , the gnome can act as the first and can do once again
6. Build Turret
Clockwork Gnome goes away and we switch to Sunreaver Micro-Sentry again.
7. Call Lightning
Sunreaver Micro-Sentry must die now. so:
8. pass
Sunreaver Micro-Sentry dies. Thus, our lv pet is active on the fight involved because it is the last surviving pet. but it is not to perform an action, because the last Build Turret gives the rest.

So far this works 100% of the time. I've tried it on all 6 of my level 100 characters that have a level 3 menagerie.

Pets: Pandaren Water Spirit H/S - <whatever>, Whirlpool, Geyser
Alpine Foxling S/S- Flurry, Howl, <whatever> - I would think any pet with Flurry, Howl would work here.
Chrominius H/H - Bite, Howl, Surge of Power

Round 1: Geyser
Round 2: Whirlpool
Swap to Chrominius
Round 3: Howl - (Geyser, Whirlpool trigger)
Round 4: Surge of Power - Brutus should be dead
Chrominius will be recovering for 3 rounds. But this is ok because Brutus will waste his CD abilities.
Round 5: Switch to Pandaren Water Spirit
Round 6: Geyser
Round 7: Whirlpool
He should die at this point and your Foxling should swap in
Round 7: Howl
Round 8: Flurry (Geyser, Whrilpool should trigger - Brutus may die at this point. Depends on if you crit or not)
Round 9: Flurry

Just a friendly reminder that patch 6.1 will be releasing the 24th, this coming Tuesday. To make use of the experience, be sure to do everything you can before the release of the patch as it will significantly reduce the experience gained as well as downgrade all pet battles.

Best method for Brutus and Ruckus is using Timain's strategy below using Lil' Bling and Darkmoon Zeppelin as you can level any pet you desire. Just with the hat alone, you can level a level 1 to level 8 in 1 battle.

This fight is a Mech Fest.

For the lead off slot I have had success with Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (call lightening/ Ion cannon), Cogblade Raptor (Mangle/Overtune/Batter) as well as Lil Bling (Make It Rain / Inflation). All three leave a buff that holds over to the next round really adding to the punch of Clockwork Gnome..

Clockwork Gnome (build turret / metal fist/metal fist/ build turret) owns the middle slot. It finishes off the first hog and does heavy damage on the second.Turret remains to assist as third pet fills in cleans up the mess.

The DPS needed from 3rd/leveling pet varies with RNG through the later part of the battle. Sometimes the turret will clean up the scraps, sometimes the level pet needs to have some Bite. It's a good spot for a Beast or a third Mech.

Two Pet Battle w/o Carry

25 Rare Iron Starlette (Wind-Up, Powerball, Supercharge)
25 Rare Darkmoon Tonk (Missle, Stun and Awe, Ion Cannon)

Open with starlette. Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up. Brutus dies.
Enter Rukus. Powerball, Wind-Up , Wind-Up. Starlette dies.
Enter Tonk. Shock and Awe, Ion Cannon. Rukus dies.

8 rounds.

Because XP bonus was nerfed with 6.1, I wouldn't recommend using a carry. However, this strategy can be modified for a carrry. It adds 2 rounds for 50 XP. Bring the carry pet in for one round after the Starlette dies. It must have more than 450 health.

One shotted both Brutus and Rukus with the Iron Starlette. I used Supercharge and Demolish. Rukus killed the Iron Starlette after Supercharge was used, then it rezzed due to it being mechanical. Popped Demolish again. "Work Complete"

I'm really liking these two pets for this fight:

Ikky(x,1,1)
Zandalari Kneebiter(2,x,2) - I guess any zandalari with bloodfang should work.

vs Rukus: Ikky starts with Black Claw followed by Flock, this will kill Rukus.
vs Brutus: Ikky uses Black Claw followed by Flock. Once Ikky dies he should be low enough and be debuffed for Zandalari to one shot Brutus using Bloodfang(it hits for around 1k). If Brutus has more than 1k hp left use Hunting Party instead.

Why use Ikky? I like the speed advantage against Rukus(he's 309) the Zandalari I have are 305, otherwise I guess they would be fine if they're faster than 309.

TWO-PETS, LIMITED SWAPS vs. Brutus and Rukus
- Usually 8-10 rounds.
- Less pet swaps and RNG than other strats.

Tranquil Mechanical Yeti (1,1,2)
Lil' Bling (2,2,1)
Any / Leveling / Derp

Call Lightning with Yeti
Swap to Lil' Bling
Make it Rain
Inflation (3 rounds)
Repeat Lil' Bling's attacks until it dies
(optional) Swap to Leveling Pet
Bring back Tranquil Mechanical Yeti
- Rukus < 439 HP: Metal Fist
- Rukus < 1098 HP: Ion Cannon (only use when it will kill)
Otherwise: Call Lightning, Metal Fist until Ion Cannon will kill

Note: Don't be discouraged if you can't fully repeat a 2nd round of Bling's attacks before it dies, your Yeti packs enough of a wallop to finish the fight.

Updated with a better strategy, as the leveling approach only works about half the time.

Here's a team that worked for me:

Clockwork Gnome lv 25 Rare S/B 1/1/1
Cogblade Raptor lvl 25 Rare B/B 2/1/2
Darkmoon Zeppelin lvl 25 Rare H/B 1/1/2

Open with the gnome. Basically, build a Turret, then spam Metal Fist until Turret is up. Keep refreshing Turret when it comes off cooldown, so you have 1-2 turrets hitting all the time. This should get you well past the first boar.

Send in the Raptor. Overtune, then Batter until Overtune is off cooldown; repeat until someone is dead.
Note that if you time your Turrets right, one of them should still be up for the first turn with the Raptor.

Finish with the Zeppelin. Decoy first, then Missile until the boar is dead.

While these fights really aren't good for leveling pets, I thought I'd see how the cub did. Substitute the zeppelin with

Anodized Robo Cub lvl 16 Uncommon H/P 2/1/1

This works only if your Gnome kills Rukus. If so, throw the Cub at Brutus for a turn or two, using Demolish. I got lucky, and the first of the Cub's Demolish hit for over 800 hp. I pulled the Cub with about 460 hp left.

Gave my Cub 77 hp for the victory, which really wasn't worth the effort, but at least I finished.

Anyone can easily destroy this piggy duo with just 1 pet now, the rare P/S version of Crimsonwing Moth
Using Slicing Wind, Counterspell, and Call Lightning did the trick.

If you want to bring in a backup, I'd recommend a mechanical such as the Lifelike Mechanical Frostboar for Missile's mechanical damage increased thanks to Call Lightning, and of course Decoy to avoid a few attacks.

So if you don't have this moth already, I strongly suggest you do get it. Not only can it handle this fight easily, it will make many other encounters easy as well. I personally rank this pet in my top 10 favorites, both for combat and appearance.

The only drawback is farming this moth. It's only found in Talador, Draenor and there's only 1 spawn up at a time in the whole zone. It can spawn pretty much anywhere in the zone, so it might take a bit of time getting the one you want, which would be a rare Power/Speed version.

Just been doing this pair on my alts today, and I'm finding the following combo working every time.

My pets:
Iron Starlette (P/P)
Menagerie Custodian (H/S)
Sky-Bo (S/S) - never used.

Start with IS, go:
Wind-up -> Supercharge -> Wind-up = Opponent dies.
Toxic Smoke x n until IS dies.

Bring out MC, go:
Shock and Awe -> Lock-On -> Lock-On = Opponent dies.

Never needed the third pet.

- if bad/unlucky RNG, Rukus may kill the IS on first round, in which case cycle your MC through Shock and Awe/Lock-On (aim then fire) which should see off the opponent.

Lil'Ragnaros/Rocket Chicken made pretty quick work of these two. There are probably better options than Rag but I just love that pet. Rocket Chicken however is a good choice here. Good luck!

Wrecked both with Iron Starlette (Windup, Toxic Smoke, Supercharge) and Darkmoon Zepp (Missle, Bombing Run, Decoy). Did windup, supercharge then windup again, hit first pet for 2577 each run. Should be able to finish off the 2nd guy with the zep after starlette dies.

For this fight I use Pandaren Water Spirit, with spells Geyser, whirlpool, and Water Jet and Chrominius with Bite, Howl and Surge of Power... the third pet is of your choice. When Brutus spawns cast Geyser then whirlpool. Immediately switch to Chrominius and cast howl. If Brutus does not die, cast Bite. This will kill him and Rukus will enter the battle. Switch back to your Pandaren Water Spirit and cast Geyser and Whirlpool. After casting whirlpool, your Pandaren Water Spirit should die. Go back to Chrominius and cast howl followed by either Bite or Surge of Power... This should kill Rukus and you've won the battle!

Here is my faster / effective / quickest / speedily / rapidly and easiest tactical without RNG:

Brutus & Rukus -->55 seconds
Ikky 1/1/1 + Tranquil Mechanical Yeti 1/1/2

If you can be faster than me, please tell me but be honest and minimizing the RNG, time is calculated from the first spell I used untill the end-animation :)

First of all, don't worry about a leveling pet for this one. It gets basically no experience.

I had very good success with Cogblade Raptor (2, 1, 1) and Clockwork Gnome (1, x, 1). The Raptor can basically take care of Brutus, and if you time things correctly you'll be able to put up Exposed Wounds on Rukus as well. This buffs Gnome Turret greatly, and it'll be able to kill Rukus easily.

Any good mech for backup in 3rd slot. I have Son of Animus, but anything is fine and mostly likely won't be needed anyway.

Just making sure people know that they nerfed the pet XP from this battle. Just did it with the Zeppelin strategy below. Only my leveling pet survived and I had the safari hat on and it is the Pet Battle Bonus Event for triple XP. My leveling pet got 180 XP. Sad face.

I decided to experiment by using Ikky, Iron Starlette, and Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling.
I had Ikky start with Black Claw and then Flock. Killed the first piggy easily. Same on second but then Ikky died. When Iron Starlette came in I started with Toxic Smoke. Only had to do one round and match was over.

You can do this quickly with Iron Starlette and Chrominius.
Start with Iron Starlette, Powerball, Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up. Brutus dies. Rukus comes out use Wind-Up, Wind-Up.
If Iron Starlette is still alive use Powerball, otherwise switch to Chrominius and use Howl, Surge of Power.

After the change, this gives so little XP that it's not worth carrying a pet. My unbuffed level 1 carry received 58 XP, barely enough to get to level 2. You would be much better off fighting wild critters.

However if you still want to try to carry, or if you just want a reliable kill strategy, the following worked 100% of the time for me on 10 attempts.

Ikky (x,1,1)
Carry Pet
Zandalari Kneebiter (2,2,x)

1. Black Claw
2. Flock (Brutus dies)
3. Black Claw
4. Flock (Ikky dies)
5. Swap to Carry Pet
6. Swap to Zandalari Kneebiter
7. Black Claw
8. Hunting Party (Rukus dies)

I'd imagine that this strategy would work with any two pets that have Black Claw + Flock/Hunting Party (although I haven't tested it.)

Too easy with just 2 pets: Ikky and Iron Starlette. Just do Black Claw then Flock then Black Claw on 2nd one just before Ikky dies, then Wind-Up with Iron Starlette and its over.

For the garrison pet battle against Brutus & Rukus:

I don't currently have any 25 mechanical pets, so I used three rare quality pets (Devourling, Blood Boil, Tranquil Wader) that could heal themselves and it worked- although it was close. Use heals whenever they're off cool-down. Brutus and Rukus both heal themselves often, although not for much.
