A nod to famous jeweler to the stars, Harry Winston. Mr. Winston passed away in the 1970s, but the name lives on. Most of the rocks you see hanging around the neck of stars attending award shows like the Oscars are borrowed from this jeweler.

I believe it's in addition to your hearthstone, and does not share a cooldown. Which is why it costs so much. The idea is it frees up your HS to be set somewhere else. Or set to Dalaran, thus allowing you to hearth 'anywhere' twice an hour, instead of once.

This item is, of course, practically worthless for shamans (Astral Recall), Scribes (Scroll of Recall) and mages (Portal: Dalaran), other than the stats on the item itself.

There is a ring meant for tanking. If you see a ring with 75 or more stamina, its meant for tanking. This one is coupled with expertise as a secondary tanking stat. The strength and crit are just added bonuses. I suppose it could be kind of a PVP ring, but the high stamina and expertise make it a tanking ring (although parry, dodge, def, or armor instead of crit would've been better). At least it'll help you get your TPS up a bit.

this is retarded, blizzard removed all the blue gems from the vendor and leaving only the epic ones... gg where can JC alts can level their JC with the crap load of badge i do have on my main! I hate when blizzard do that.

It costs 6800g at max faction with Kirin Tor for the 1st ring (which is iLvL 200) and then you need that ring and another 1000g to upgrade to the next ring (which is iLvL 251).

The prices listed here for Wrath-era epic gems are incorrect. They now cost 220 JP rather than the 110 that is listed here.

Edit: Why would this be downrated? It's completely correct. Currently Ametrine, Dreadstone and Eye of Zul are all incorrectly priced on the "Sells" page.

Harry Winston can be found in Cartier & Co. Fine Jewelry, a shop in the Magus Commerce Exchange section of Dalaran City. The entrance stairs is marked by large red jewels on the side.

Dr. Harold Winston was also where Winston from Overwatch got his name. Winston was raised on a lunar colony (floating rock anyone?).

I see this more of a nod to Overwatch, than to some jeweler that nobody remembers anymore.

Harold Winston sells epic level 80 rings, necklaces, and Kirin Tor rings with a Teleport Dalaran (Northrend) feature. Others also sell the rings and necklaces, but he alone sells the Kirin Tor rings. Each kind of thing he sells is available in a agility version, a caster damage version, a healer version, and a strength version, with a few second strength versions thrown in. You should only see the ones which are aligned with your class.

Though all his items are epic, and all are for a level 80 toon, they are tiered by item level at escalating cost.

The non-teleport rings are available with ilvl 213 and ilvl 245.
The Kirin Tor rings are available with ilvl 200, ilvl 213, ilvl 226, and ilvl 251.
The necklaces are available with ilvl 200 and ilvl 226.

These rings and necklaces were really great for their stats when the level cap was 80, but now, you will outgrow them soon after purchase. In particular, save your copper pieces for an heirloom necklace, which has no special purchase requirement, other than lots of gold, and includes a healing function, working like a potion and sharing cool down with potions. Since you can now only use one potion per battle, this necklace eliminates the need for separate healing potions.

Though by no means inexpensive, the teleport function on the Kirin Tor rings, however, might be worth your while. Think of it as a Dalaran-specific hearthstone. I have a toon that is doing the Jewelcrafting dalies; for that toon, a separate teleport to Dalaran is a nice ability, and I judged it to be worth the expense.

But I stuck to just the base ilvl 200 ring, and did not upgrade. The base ilvl 200 ring gives you the Ring of the Kirin Tor achievement, and the teleport to Dalaran capability. The Kirin Tor rings must be purchased and upgraded in sequence, and each step is expensive. If you must have the stats, the non-teleport rings are much cheaper than the upgrades.

Mages should already know this, but mages do not need a Kirin Tor ring; just train Teleport Dalaran (Northrend) (and Portal Dalaran (Northrend)).

Not the worst thing you can spend almost 10k on in Legion if you never got it. This can shortcut mount/gold grinds. granted if you can solo everything ;P

It's important to note, this is the vendor Harold Winston in Old Dalaran, which you can get to by taking the Dalaran portal in Pandaria. He's in the JC Trainer's building in the Magus Commerce Exchange.

There is one Harlod Winston, who is actually a character from Overwatch. It's one of scientist on the Moon station who took care of Winston, the famous Overwatch gorilla.

Does anybody know why so many rings / necklaces / trinks, are Unique Equipped?
It is kind of a bummer really....
I wanted to equip my Shammy with 2 of the Golden Beryl Rings, but Blizz decided that you could only wear 1 of them, and I am trying to get 2 good rings that I can have Intellect on. Every other ring that I have found anywhere with Int are either near impossible to get, and require you to play Blizzard's broken RNG game, crossing your fingers for no hope at all, or they are too low level to be worth it. I guess I could change out my Insightful Rubellite for a Int Gem, but they decided to make the good Gems Unique Equipped too.
Are they just trying to be cute, or what?

As of patch 8.3, he is in "Cartier & Co. Fine Jewelry" store in the Magus Commerce Exchange area in Dalaran. You can buy the main ring "Band of the Kirin Tor", which gives you a teleport to Dalaran, for 7,225 gold. The entrance is at 39.2, 34.9.
