Easy tank 'n spank. I think his only ability is a selfbuff which inscreases his damage, so just kill him fast.

Boss Fight (Normal).

He does a few abilities.

Consume: 1850-2100 AOE shadow damage to the group. also provides a stacking buff on Trollgore, increasing his damage by 2% for every person hit.
Corpse Explode:Infests a nearby Drakkari add causing it to explode for 3700-4200 nature damage to enemies within 5 yards.
Infected Wound: increases physical damage taken by the target by 15% for 10 seconds.

Strat:

Pull Trollgore to the top of the stairs, have your ranged DPS positioned down the bottom.
As the fight progresses. Drakkari invaders will come and start attacking Trollgore, they will be killed by his consume ability.
The body's of these adds will be exploded during the fight by Trollgore's Corpse Explode ability, Causing additional damage to your tank and melee.
This fight is a DPS race as every time he uses his consume ability his damage will increase from 10%-16% depending on the amount of players and invaders in the room.

For us, the Consume was much more of a problem than the Corpse Explode. It was pretty much a DPS race on Heroic.

For those who are going for the achievement, as well as on heroic in general:

The trolls coming down the stairs in a group of three have 2000 health. If you kill them before they reach him, he won't consume them, thus lowering the total amount he consumes by 3, which is significant.

It reduces his damage a lot, as well as makes the less than 10 achievement a lot more plausible.

Not altogether that difficult, on Heroic we tank and spanked him, no moving, no taking down adds. If your dps is high enough (and ours wasn't anywhere near epicced out or anything) you'll be fine. Our tank had also just hit 80 2 days ago

If you guys would check the boss' abilities better, you'd see the true horror that this boss is.

First of all, Corpse Explode is triggered when a dead mob is next to him. Nothing special in that.

Second, check the "Consume" spell better. It does not only have to do with the mobs. It is concerning the players themselves as well. Consider this as an Shadow AOE spell, that whoever gets hit will give the boss a damage increase. And don't think abot outranging it, it has a 50 yard range.

So, in short, the trick in this boss to get the achievement is not only to keep the boss away from the adds for at least 50 yards(they are enemies to Trollgore, so if they die he'll recieve the buff - try to give a 60 yard distance between the meele that kills the trolls and the boss, with the healer between them to heal both sides), but to bring your old SR gear from BT and do the fight, hoping for all the players to resist the consume.

Ofc, the tank must carry his full tank gear and carry on the fight. The boss will recieve a buff every time with consume by this, but at least the tank can live longer ^^

Shamans can make this encounter trivial - have the tank pull Trollgore to the bottom of the stairs and then to the opposite end of the room. While the tank does this, drop an Earth Elemental on top of the stairs. The Elemental forces any adds to attack it, and since they are non-elite and deal nearly no damage it should be able to dispose of them. If you're unlucky with the Elemental's taunt cooldown you should still have plenty of time to kill the adds before they get to Trollgore.

If you've got a Blood specced DK and you keep wiping, I think we've figured out why: Bloodworms getting hit by Consume give him the damage buff too -- for each one!

On Heroic this is a really, really big deal!

The best way to get the achievement. 1 DPS and the healer go to the top of the stairs. Preferably a melee DPS, or a hunter. The ranged DPS stay at the bottom of the stairs. The tank will pull Trollgore to the middle of the stairs. The melee at the top needs to keep the trolls away from the edge of the stairs where they will be in LoS of Trollgore. The ranged DPS will be dodging to the sides of the stairwell. Now, it will go like this. The tank calls out the first consume. Everyone then has to DPS trollgore as hard as they can. They DPS for 10 seconds, then pop behind the walls again. Tank calls out the next consume, and you repeat the process. If you trust your tanks gear, you should be able to do this with the healer dodging back as well. If not, then you'll have to hope that your DPS is up to the task of taking out his HP fast. If both the healer and the tank are in view, it's going to take an average of 1960 DPS from all players in the party to bring him down before consume reaches max stack. If only the tank gets hit by the consume, you only need an average of 1027 DPS to put him down.

All pets need to stay away from Trollgore. Pet dash will not be fast enough to get them out of the consume radius, and it will increase the speed you need to DPS him down at.
Never stay in longer than 10 seconds. Once consume is called out, you NEED to burn down as much health on him as possible, then duck back to cover. Stay right at the edge, so all you need is a side step.
Whoever is killing the trolls at the top of the stairs needs to make sure that none of them get passed to LoS of Trollgore. No matter what. Get one hit off on each as fast as possible. A ret pally or DK is best at this, though a hunter can make a good showing as well.
If you have a Blood DK, he HAS to kill adds out of LoS of Trollgore. Those Bloodworms will get him eating your tank alive.
This does mean that a combo of a BM hunter and a Blood DK will make things a little harder. In this case, the hunter will have to go up to the top with the DK, but will DPS ranged himself while his pet helps kill adds.

The only other way I know of is to tank Trollgore in the little alcoves beside the stairs. The DPS will duck around onto the stairs themselves. One DPS focuses on the adds, while the other 2 jump in between consumes. If the adds go down quick, the third DPS can hop in as well to help out. However, when I tried it like this, none of my DPS were willing to stay on add duty. They just jumped on Trollgore, and let the adds get caught in my consecration. Next thing you know, the occassional few would get hit with consume before they could be brought down, and I started eating corpse explosions. Ended up taking him down at 22 consume stack.

Remember to use your bubble if you're a paladin, during the first or second wave. If you party's dps is good, and you have a paladin, you can do an all-out attack and the paladin do a bubble a few seconds before the comsuption.

That's how i did to get the achievement for everyone in the party, along with some "TY"s ^^

Soloed as 80 Endurance DK (Imp Rune Tap, Crypt Fever, Glyph of DS). Just need to have 24k hp so that DS heals for over 3.5k each time. All quest/craft/rep blues.

Normal mode soloed as a lvl 75 ret pala with pretty much full sunwell gear.
Tried a few times with a more regular ret spec without success, afterwards I used my (empty) dual spec to make a somewhat odd talent build. I got rid of the - for that fight - useless talents and took 5/5 Divinity and 5/5 Deflection/Benediction, since both staying alive and mana were an issue.

If the trash only wouldn't take that long :(

Soloed as an 80 BM Hunter. Pretty simple really. Tank and spank with Rhino pet. Pet barely went below 50% health. Surprisingly easy
