No way they're gonna give Divine Star a cast time.
Finally! HOORAY \\o/
Making everything have a cast time doesn't make it feel more dynamic, it makes it feel like work, extremely slow work. It means raiders are at risk of dying during any movement at all. To boot removing filler spells means healers will be standing around waiting for damage to be taken. With nothing at low cost, healing becomes a reaction game instead of a proactive game.Except, if you were reading the rest of this, raiders won't be at a risk of dying because there will be less burst damage in the raid environment. You won't be at risk of being 2 shotted by a raid mechanic while the healer is taking a few seconds to move from point A to point B. That said, what the heck are you talking about? Healing is a reactionary game right now. Person gets bursted down, you heal them up, gets bursted down again, you heal them back up again. How is that "proactive"? Unless of course you're talking about topping them off between bursts. These changes do the exact opposite of what you seem to think they do.
So are they getting rid of Greater Healing Wave? That is one of the main things I use :cIf you actually paid attention to what they said. They are getting rid of "Healing Wave" and simply renaming "Greater Healing Wave" as "Healing Wave".
Holy Nova is Disc only? PFFFFFF...Screw that! Bring it back for Holy ONLY, that spec is the one that really does need some love...Disc gets *everything* nowadays. :/
Cast time on instant heals sucks hardcore and do not like it at all, I was also hoping they wouldn't totally cut low-throughput spells, merely making them actually dynamically usable with say faster casts and interactions.
I am actually confused on the heal efficency and throughput.. could someone like.. put it into lamemans terms?
starting to look like vanilla again when healing efficiency and mana management actually meant something.
I'm... I'm sorry, what? Halo and Divine Star are getting cast times?Blizzard, Shadow is stuck in place enough already, we really don't need to deal with this. Especially in a fight like Thok where Divine Star is the only useful contribution we can reliably make without getting interrupted.
So basically, they're trying to make WoD healing experience all about using the right heal for the right situation. Not watch one shaman constantly cast healing rain, or a priest constantly doing atonement healing? That may be for the best, Currently as healing it feels like I need to always keep everyone at max health because a single mistake from the player means they die. I'll be honest I'm one of those players who loves smart healing spells because occasionally me and another healer would end up targeting the same player and one of us would over heal. Smart healing spells very rarely over heal compared to me targeting a player and selecting my single target heal. Not overly excited about this, but I'll just wait and see how this turns out.
Great! They're taking even MORE mobility away from Shadow Priests! Good bye three global cooldowns for movement, hello two.
next step is to f**k up tanking and damaging and then, its all shaped up to be more boring game than its now already :D
wow. =/I can't say I'm happy about any of this. Pretty much dislike almost all they said here, but I'll reserve final judgement for when I'm actually playing the game. Who knows, maybe its not as bad as it sounds to me.Exactly my feelings. This major change could be game breaking. I hope they REALLY tested it before stating its a go to beta/etc because as I read it.... Healers are mostly going to be useless. Which makes me look at 3 of my characters with fear.
Awful, awful, awful changes. Giving Prayer of Mending and the level 90 talents a cast time is a terrible idea. I hate all tof these healing changes. Blizzard has a totally different concept of "fun" than I do.
I love you Blizzard! as a predominately melee class player, (Rogue, DK, War). I always hate going agains 2 specific healers, Disc Priests and MW Monks. This should hopefully balance out the annoyances of those 2 classes.
Everything looks good...cept the removal of most of the instant cast spells. Kinda feels like PvE is getting the shaft because of PvP again. That's all well and good from a PvP standpoint...but have you guys been paying attention to how much people have to move in raiding these days? You barely get to stand still in heroic...how in the world re you ever gonna heal anything?
Sooo, druids are screwed? Efflorescence is a giant aoe heal and most of their healing spells are instant. I wonder how they will fix resto druid.
Love all these changes except the 1.5 sec cast times for all my priestythings. D:I feel the same way. Now Inner Will will be useless unless it's changed completely.
Wow this is going to be interesting.Atm I'm roflstomping with my druid so I can;t say I dont enjoy this current form of healing.Oh well, every new patch is new things to learn / do so that is always +1 to me.I can't wait to try it out!
*sighs happily* now is an amazing time to be a warlock,i shall BURN those stupid know-it-all priests with GIANT,NON-CHANNELED,GIANT,GREEN FIRE FROM ABOVE AND THEY WONT EVEN NOTICE! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and then i shall cast havoc and chaos bolt and *mortal kombat voice* F-F-FINISH ITC-C-C-COMBO BREAKER
