kinda rare you get a 522 (which is normal ilvl o TTK) being neutral and just for 1250vp....is there a revamping on the VP system we havent heard of?This happened with the 5.0 reps as well, and the first one available as soon as you hit 90 was a neckpiece as well, from the Klaxxi. Assuming they liked how this worked, and are copying it in the patch.
I very much like this. Having the opportunity to buy a whole bunch of 476 gear for alts (so they, presumably, can get into lfr etc) without the need to spend months grinding the rep/vp is fantastic. I've been putting off levelling another character for this very reason, but now it's not so bad. The SPA rep is also great. I used to love being able to upgrade a certain item as you gain rep from that dungeon (Kara, BT, ICC), and the idea that as you do more raiding you have access to more gear is awesome. It means that if you've had a quiet few weeks (I went 10 weeks without any 10man loot from msv/hof) you can at least upgrade one item. I'm especially glad they have multiple rewards at each level of rep, since it felt a bit mong having to get so far along in FL before you got anything good. Even though it's a BC concept, I'm really glad they're bringing this back, particularly since there won't be a new tier of valor gear like in each patch in wrath/cata (yes I know, SPA is technically a new tier, but it requires boss kills rather than grinding dailies or trash farming). The only bad thing about these items is that there seems to be a significant lack on Crit gear for casters. All the cloth is hit/mastery/haste, and the trinket is haste too. Then again, it's just part of Blizzards move to force mages out of Fire and into Arcane... The real question is - are they going to reset VP when 5.2 comes out. Personally I don't see why they should, since you won't have access to more than 1 item until you get rep. Presumably it's going to take more than a week to get to friendly so....
Server wide progress ,nice. I hope that blizz realize there are servers with 1:9 Aliance - Horde population. If they do not care about this ,they should make it based on population.I hate this kind of great ideas.....It's been explained that yes, it is based on population. If your server has that wide of a disparity, Alliance will require less stuff done to unlock parts than Horde will (I'd have to figure 9 times less, but that's to be seen just how it will work). See Dave Kosak's tweet: 5.2 island server progression is weighted based on your faction's participation. Small-pop factions shouldn't be at a disadvantage. Also, regarding the "no Valor from dailies", Shieldwall/Dominance didn't initially give VP for their dailies on the PTR either. While it does seem possible Blizzard could change to a "no VP from these dailies" stance, I'd say it's just Not Yet Implemented, and wait til 5.2 is live to see just what's up, as PTR is testing, rather than Live.
are dead servers like burning steppes gona get boost on opening the new raid just like full servers get boost on mats spawn rate?
"a weighting system based on faction participation was in the works so small-population factions won't be penalized"Thank goodness, my faction is only about 1/4 of the population of the server :P
Is it just me, or are there missing VP helmet and boots? Also as there's always only one dps/tank ring and trinket each raid patch, I'd be better off upgrading my 496 ones. Really thought LFR would drop ilvl509/516.
I don't get why is the alliance faction called Kirin Tor Offensive. Kirin Tor is a neutral faction in WotLK so let it remain so. Alliance faction should be called Silver Covenant Offensive analogically to the horde faction.

I guess we need one from somewhere else.Cheers.
I don't get why is the alliance faction called Kirin Tor Offensive. Kirin Tor is a neutral faction in WotLK so let it remain so. Alliance faction should be called Silver Covenant Offensive analogically to the horde faction.Because it's being led by Psycho Jaina, who is apparently the new Grand Master of the Tor....either that, or Blizzard is just being lazy again.

Alliance faction should be called Silver Covenant Offensive analogically to the horde faction. If you'd done any of the Dominance offensive quests line you'd understand. After Theramore blew up, Jaina moved to Dalaran and basically took over the Kirin Tor. Then there was a massive fight in Dalaran between the Kirin Tor and the Sunreavers because she's a !@#$% (ok, she has reason to hate Garrosh, but don't we all?). The old Wotlk faction "Kirin Tor" still exists, the changes will only affect those at level 90.
another daily grind...
Very nice stuff :)
Lets have those VP ready for the 5.2!
Except... the Shado-Pan Assault rewards DO require Valor Points. It's likely that Valor will be rewarded for completing the new dailies, as almost every daily quest in MoP does. It would be quite a slap in the face for Blizzard to go "Hey here's this new faction we want you all to participate in because it unlocks cool features on Thunder Isle... but they won't reward Valor. I'm sure you'll all do them anyway though! ...muahahahahaha!"Actually, they very well might not reward Valor. =/Except............ that you gain valor by doing all 4 wings of the LFR. Think about this for one quick second: Currently, doing all 5 LFR raids available you gain almost 500 VP. And 5.2 is adding yet another 4 LFR raids. As far as we've heard, they're neither removing, nor reducing the amount of VP gained by doing the 5.0 LFR.Which means you can potentially gain up to 900 Valor just by doing LFR. And there IS a weekly quest in the new island that rewards with 150 VP (it requires 5 players though)Besides, WHAT IS THE FRIKKING RUSH? The Shado-pan faction has items that require valor, but they also require rep, and since you can only gain a small amount of rep per week its not like you'll be able to buy any of those pieces any time soon.So your argument is that, since they're adding more ways to get Valor (however comparatively inefficient LFR is if all you're going for is Valor), it's okay that they remove Valor from the new dailies? It's not a huge deal - it's fairly easy to cap Valor already and 1k is 1k no matter how it's earned. I'm definitely in no rush to cap VP. It's the lack of consistency that bugs me: every non-Pet battle daily quest has rewarded Valor so far in MoP, even from reputations without Valor gear. Why then the change? Would rewarding Valor really make the new dailies too efficient? There's still only a set amount you can do every day anyway. Also, unless each new LFR wing rewards 112.5 Valor, you can earn 810 Valor for doing every LFR, not 900.I would go along with an argument about the relative values of vp versus gold and consideration of the amount of vp you can earn doing the other numerous dailies already available across all the other factions rather than one that is based on someone not liking something simply because it's different or unpredictable.
- there is a typo in the tooltip. secnario instead of scenario :)
is it known how much rep we get from each boss?
I read that 5.2 is a Raid heavy patch....are we ever gonna have a solo heavy patch with GOOD things.I know this is a multi player game.I have played for years and have gotten past the raiding, fighting for loot, ect..can we just have a nice good patch that the non-raiders and solo players in the game can enjoy? I know I am not the only one. I have played since game began and have met soo many and we get tired of just starting new toons to do new stuff.ok my rant is over...
are dead servers like burning steppes gona get boost on opening the new raid just like full servers get boost on mats spawn rate? Who still plays on burning steppes lol most ppl i knew moved away anyway thats a good question actually how this is going to work.
So are the Guild Standards and DMF bonus and all that other cool little +rep stuff gonna work on these bosses?
