Three new spirit beasts, all reskins of a porcupine?
A healing pet? Could be nice in soloing difficult quests/fights. Any ideas on CD for the special abilities?Uhm... Hello? The healing spell has been around since Cata. The ghost porcupines are just normal Spirit beasts, not a new family.I think spirit mend came out during Wrath. Not really. It came with 4.0 which cata system with wotlk content
Truly my favorite moment was when I finally reached 80 with my first character.
I'm patiently (kinda) waiting for my tameable Xuen spirit tiger rare to be made available...^ This. Although it is interesting that they made a red spirit beast for once, when all the others are mostly ghostly (heh, I rhymed XD) blues and greens. People complaining that, "Oh no, not more spirit beasts for BM's!" they haven't given us any new spirit beasts since Cata, so my response to those people is - STFU, they're also adding non-BM hunter pets too, so quit your whining. :P
If you're going after the new spectral porcupines, I have a piece of advice for you. Know where you will be kiting them - I disengaged to give myself a little more distance and threw myself off a cliff.
stop complaining non BM hunters, this is the first (yes only 1 so far) Spirit Beast released in MoP, first release of MoP and 5.1 have been PACKED with tons of new hunter pet types and skins ALL usable by every type of hunter. U have nothing to complain about, and this isn't even that great of a Spirit Beast, most BM hunters probably won't even want it.there have been over 150+ new hunter pets added to wow since 5.0 that are all tamable by SV and MS hunters, Blizz has show plenty of love to u already
I always thought a "Healing" pet would be interesting, a pet that stayed by your side and just buffed you and healed raid members in a 40 yard area. I envision the pet's heals scaled with the hunters AP or DPS and it Crit heals when the hunter Crits. You could send it to attack the boss, doing little damage but healing and buffing the tank and melee DPS. Raids would love that! It could be a new fourth pet spec! What should that spec be named?...
"I don't see the big deal with the porcupines. I think they are HIDEOUS. LESS porcupines, more Other things please. A spectral crane would be cool."Spectral crane, I dont know about that... But yeah, there are enough tigers. Ops! Would love one of those Xuen things.Cant say I have seen anyone use porcupines. Its like that spectral crab from vashjir. I got it and never used it. Neither did I see anyone else.Arctrius? (spelling) Bear from grizzlyhills is still my favorite pet on a daily basis.
So ok you people are srsly going on about spectral pets when Blizzard is taking away the item upgrade npc's because they think the player base is too stupid to figure out how to spend their valor?GG player base. I understand why this has to be done if you people are so hung up on a pet.I don't think you actually grasp this concept, WoW's ment to be fun and ect. If people really wanted to upgrade their gear, they should of, and probably already upgraded it by now. Being a Hunter myself, I understand that pets are important (looks wise aswell, Porcupines are really uncool, atleast imo. Spectral Crane FTW!)
There are so many other skins people have been begging for in spirit beasts, but it's as if they aren't listening. One porcupine I could deal with, but three? Seriously, why not a dino of some sort? Or another solid-skinned pet like Skoll or Loque? /sigh...
ok, so they're going to nerf disc priests a little. That's fine. What about shadow, the aoe is back to being a joke. Multi-dotting only gets you so far. Mind sear is doing nearly the same damage whether I'm disc or shadow, that's not right. Shadow preists are a bit underpowered compared to other classes and need a little buff, at least to aoe. Also, why are hunters so hated that it's nearly impossible to get a weapon? I mean really, most of their damage output is based on the weapon and yet there are few drops possible and with a low chance to drop.
bliz is completely oblivious to how massively redundant daily quests are. i can handle doing the same quest maybe 4-5 times tops before it starts to just totally drive me insane. doing the same quest 10-20 times is intolerable. who wants to do 2-3 hours worth of daily quests each day for raid gear and then spend 4 hours in a raid that same night? hell freakin' no. i have my alani mount but there is no way in hell i am gonna ever get exalted with celestials in order to use it.then don't do dailies. the problem is this new player base that thinks they deserve all of the gear because they pay a monthly sub fee (would never have lasted in vanilla raiding). i grinded every reputation to exalted in tbc, and in those days the dailies were the same thing every day! it's so much better now, but because you can't get to exalted in 2 days the system is broken. yes it's work. seems like busy work sometimes, but it's not as bad as whiners are making it. suck it up if you want the gear. not to mention the gold, valor, and charms you get from every quest. if you haven't noticed, they made it easy for alts to get those reps as well with commendations. i was 8k into revered with the klaxxi in one day on an alt. tell me that's hard.
If you're not rading normal mode raids why do you really need a higher ilvl than 470?
the "casuals" here who are complaining about how hard rep grinds are on alts are being a bit overdramatic.you do not need to do every single daily in order to get into raiding. for one day you could do just the golden lotus, and then the next klaxxi maybe. switch it up a bit. maybe do 2-3 reps at a time if you feel like it. yes, there is a lot but you are not being forced to do every single daily every single day.when i first hit 90 on my priest i focused on the tillers first. after that i went to revered for golden lotus so i could get the rep buff and start on my druid. it all comes down to you and how you're going to commit. yes, the dailies are a bit tedious sometimes (coughcoughshadopancough) but really if you just take a couple days or weeks you'll get done with it.and no, no reps are required at all for getting into RF. i only bought maybe one piece before i started doing it on my priestand for the spirit beasts- i think the porcupines are really nice, cant wait till my hunter hits 90 and i can tame one
God, I agree with the white text on so many counts."Even if you are a paying customer they really dont care what you say about this topic, they think the solution to Cata problems are dailys times 25 a day."Oh, please. The solution to Cataclysm problems, if you look at what's been added since then (4.0), is:-Pet Battles, Scenarios, Raid Finder, Daily quest reputations, Item Upgrades, The Tillers farm (and how you can use it for Cooking), Brawlers Guild, Black Market Auction House, World Bosses. It's just not objective to go and argue that everything that's been added it's dailies.I did dailies 25 times a day for 2 weeks+ on the Isle and in BC to get epic flying. I vowed never again.I don't know what "Cata problems" are, perhaps apathy after completed content..., but Pet Battles, don't care, Scenarios, what, all 2 of them I know of?Raid Finder, This was in Cata, and would have been implemented earlier if it was easier to do I'm sure.Daily quest rep? Did that for just about every stupid faction in BC and Wrath, and hated every minute of it, but liked the rewards. Didn't even care about the money, just took a single percent of the sting away from all the time lost.Item Upgrades, stupid.Tillers Farm. No. Unless I can grow Tiger Steak, no.Brawlers Guild? I don't even know what this is and should I be educated later, Probably bottom of my list, but above item upgrades.World Bosses- Oh you're finally doing something like bringing back the Green Dragons who used to guard portals? Oh. It's different. They're always up? Oh. How about a world event as crazy as the Demon invasion before BC, or scourge invasion before wrath... or the Scepter of the Sands insanity, spread over a month, without the stupid stuff normal people can't obtain? Leave the raid requirement out of it except at the end of the questlines. When there's so much content to do with your main, do you truly need an army of alts at the same level your main is right now? at this very moment? I can't quite wrap my head around the argument of being a casual and at the same time arguing you need to have a bunch of alts at the very same level your main is.Yes. Yes dude, I like to play the same game different ways. Or is there no difference of perspective when you play different characters? The game plays exactly the same? There's no point to level alts?I didn't see any of Cataclysm raids on my Paladin. There was too much catch up to do after taking the first year it came out off. No one was doing the older raids anymore unconditionally. I did only DragonSoul on my Mage.Since my 1year subscription from Blizzard's Diablo promo ran out in early November-ish, and it DOESN'T auto-renew, I had other things going on anyway, so I saved my money and my time until after the new year.Everyone in my guild from before is telling me "Good luck. We'll see you next expansion. You may get gear from Heroic 5 mans, but you'll never catch up to us on the Rep, so you will likely never see the first two raids at least."Lastly, what the heck is this?- We are going to nerf Divine Aegis for Prayer of Healing, but also lower the cost of Power Word: Shield (for Disc only) and increase the healing and damage of Penance. In 25 raids, Disc is using Prayer of Healing almost exclusively and we don't think the Spirit Shell change will be sufficient to change that. We actually want Disc to get back to using Power Word: Shield a little more, along with Penance. Disc's throughput is overall too strong in PvE, not even counting the fact that absorbs are often more beneficial than heals. You're changing something based on 25 mans? It's been all about 10 mans since Naxx in Wrath, except you put fancy dragons and a few achievements to encourage people to play the 25's. You did too well on Karazhan. That locked the "perfect" guild raid into a comfortable, controllable 10 people.Pugs or LFR, which is what a VAST majority of 25 man groups are these days, are not things you admit to influencing your decisions. They're using PoH too much? You don't like it? Ok.Buff the other stuff. Your total solution here is nerf, nerf. "And absorbs are often better, so we'll be watching to see if we have to nerf those," is what it sounds like.I don't have a lot of love for Disc, but I hear great things about Holy, and unless you hear a lot of complaints like people whining "PRAYER OF HEALING MAKES MY DRUID LOOK BAD" then I don't see how reducing a spell here so you influence people to use another one is good practice.Oh, but wait... Druid- We are going to slightly increase Resto druid healing across the board.
Blizzard does not make it easy. Hunters need more stable slots. I would be willing to pay for them.
ok, so they're going to nerf disc priests a little. I mean really, most of their damage output is based on the weapon and yet there are few drops possible and with a low chance to drop.1. On most realistic dps sims shadow is pretty damn low atm. To keep up with other classes atm you either need better gear or play at a higher skill level to match their dps (especially goes for mages, locks, dks in my experience). 2. My hunter has run lfr TOES the last 8 weeks, rolled on lei shi with normal rolls and coins every time. so that's 16 rolls. If what they said about drop rate in lfr is true (15%) then I must be extremely unlucky. No gun/no trinket for two months now. Still using a heroic gun even though I've had time to accumulate enough valor to buy all vendor epics/rep epics and upgrade several pieces twice.
If you're not rading normal mode raids why do you really need a higher ilvl than 470?Yes. I'll tell you why I need it personally. I am into soloing stuff, be it current content or old raids. The better gear I get the more possibilities are open for me to try soloing new things. You really think people who don't raid don't care about gear? Now I'm not trying to say that I don't have enough access to decent gear through grinds/lfr/valor etc. I'm well equipped for someone who quit raiding after DS (for now). But it really irks me when people bring up this BS argument that non-raiders can just walk around in greens because what they do isn't as important and doesn't require good gear. You don't know what people do with their gear, some raid, some sit around the city and some of us take on other challenges where gear plays a big role.
Now that we can't buy Valor Gear with the Same Ilvl as Normal Mode Raid Dungeons the only way around this was to gather up as much 489 and 2X upgrade it to 497 (+1 ilvl over Normal Mode Raids) In rder to maintain a respctable ilvl without raiding normal mode raids.Without the Item upgrader the gap you should be worrying about is the one between the cauals and the Raiders. It only serves to breed elitism and ensure that those who can't raid will never be close to having gear of the same quality of those that can raid. And here I was thinking you had decided to move away form this thinking. But MSV (a normal mode raid) drops 489 gear........ You claim to be a casual, but you are complaining about gear. Exactly what good is gear going to do for a casual who does not raid? I understand casuals would like to enjoy the game as well, but does keeping up with raiders in gear really affect your gameplay experience? What happened to casuals just leveling up alts, getting pets and RPing? Anyway in my opinion item upgrade was just silly, I'm happy that it is getting removed.Last thing if you would like to have 496 gear+, which drops in Heart of Fear and Terrace of the Something who Cares and heroic mode MSV,THEN JUST GO DO IT. Apparently you have 489 gear already from dailies and crap, so I'm assuming you have atleast 480 ilvl. A raiding guild will take that, and if you don't want to dedicate your self to that pugs will take that too. It's not like people got 496 gear then downed bosses, people I know from top 400 guilds killed heroic MSV bosses without full epics, so I know a "casual" with around 380 ish ilvl can kill normal mode bosses.
So ok you people are srsly going on about spectral pets when Blizzard is taking away the item upgrade npc's because they think the player base is too stupid to figure out how to spend their valor?GG player base. I understand why this has to be done if you people are so hung up on a pet.they counted out that if you had full epic gear including weapons, rings etc so it would take 6 full months to uppgrade full if you capped every week, so why is it so bad then? so i dont really understand why it is a big deal
