People arguing that it is possible to just go and load all stuff all at once, don't even waste your time. They know the difference from who did it honestly and who didn't. Just chill out and wait for it :)
So what's going on with the contest. They said they'd try to announce the winners last Wednesday and I haven't seen any updates since then. Just curious, that's all
I'm not seeing how it's even remotely logical to disqualify people for using resources that the administrators clearly stated were usable. It's definitely bad sportsmanship, but that doesn't change much.On top of that, it is *very* possible to get all 10 achievements legitimately in under 10 seconds. I know this because this is exactly what I did :Step 1: Figure them out.Step 2: Open a tab in chrome for each of them.Step 3: Realize that you aren't logged into your Wowhead account.Step 4: Open new tab and log in.Step 5: Go through all your answer tabs and press F5.I certainly understand how it's difficult to differentiate between somebody who did the above or something similar versus somebody who ctrl+clicked on the answers from an external site. That being said, it would be nice to know (next time) what's going to DSQ people, so we can avoid doing stuff that looks like we cheated.
@NathanyalI respectfully disagree, simply because I did it that way.Alt tab + F5 can be done EXTREMELY quickly. Also, labeling what many people did as "cheating" doesn't coincide with the context rules. Granted, finding all the answers online is lazy and is unfair to those of us who actually tried to figure them out... but rules are there to differentiate between those groups of people. If the rules aren't in place, there is no way to enforce the "honor" of the competition other than by setting a standard after the contest has ended.Just to clarify: I don't have anything against removing people who created multiple accounts or used an IP proxy. Both of those activities are blantantly designed to circumvent the rules of the contest. Using external resources, though many people used this instead of their brains, was *encouraged* by Wowhead staff.Edit: Ctrl+tab, not alt+tab... I'm used to having 3 different sets of Chrome windows up, so sometimes I donno what the hell is going on.
You can disagree all you want, but it is still impossible for it to be done in 10 seconds. It takes at least 2 seconds for the system to detect you found the egg, one for the page to load and another for the achievement to pop up. I had the page loaded and was looking at them, but it didn't get acknowledged until a second later that I found it. Times that by 10 for each one and that's a total of 20 seconds for all 10 eggs. You may think you found them all in 10 seconds, but I doubt you did.
I'm not buying it either, but you do have to consider that he *might* have hit F5 on the first tab and then went to the next before the first was finished loading, but for that to happen there would have had to have been intent to get them as fast as possible. I seriously doubt anyone accidentally got them all in 10 seconds.
I think its really sad when people cheat and ruin it for everyone else :/ i knew like most of the answers straight away and some other took a little loner to sink in! i remeber Blood Sucking er in deepholm.. because of that "GIT" Aeonaxx never spawning for me :( and it shared a spawn timer.. the tabard one i know like the second i was it too :D i wish the best of luck to everyone that legitimately entered Anyone excited for Childrens week? there is bound to be another competition to test your mettle and luck ^___________^
So. No one get's the prizes for what other people did? That's completely stupid and makes me not want to use WoWhead anymore if they are going to punish the rest of us for something some others did. Hell. I didn't even find them all and I was still hoping that I'd at least have a CHANCE at getting something good..
