i want cataclysm nao!
Some of these changes are for the improvement of the game as a whole. My understanding is that we are now going to be leveling more as a guild instead of solo (i.e. the change of leveling only 5 levels to end cap and then leveling your guild another 25 levels). However, some of the original changes force guild groups. In turn reducing the interest of those that solo or group up from different guild. From my point of view this is going to be substantially harder. It is imperative for Blizzard to improve cross-server raiding. Also, they should consider cross-server guilds. Meaning the possibilities of pulling more people from other servers to be part of the same guild for the same objective. Though that is highly unlikely due to the loads that the servers would experience, but then again Blizzard has been known to pull tigers (instead of rabbits) out of hats.On the whole I am really looking forward to the expansion as we all are.
The current heirlooms will stop growing after level 80. There will be a whole new crop of heirlooms for Cataclysm. Goblins and Worgen will be able to start using heirlooms immediately at launch.Does this mean that the equip effect of these heirloom items won't effect us after 80?
Aww...I was looking forward to following the Eonar path for the Path of the Titans (even though we didn't hardly know anything about them.) I think the medium glyphs would be a good idea because there is a lot of standardization when it comes to what is best in slot for people that are raiding, and it sucks that you can't really deviate from that without getting chewed out. Also, I like the minors because they canceled out a bunch of material components requirements for spells (a money saver) and were pure utility. I love some of the hunter ones. I like the glyph system (liked it when it came out) and think it just needs some reworking to get rid of some of the dumber glyphs (possessed str & pack, anyone?). If they meshed that together with PotT, it would be a bonus, though with it being axed, that's unlikely. I really like the idea of being able to see all of the glyphs available for a class on the glyph interface tab because getting a profession link in trade chat can sometimes be like pulling eye-teeth and you can't always alt-tab out to check Wowhead. As an occasional glyph seller (only when I remember), I'm torn between the permanent glyphs and the way it is now--I see the virtues of making them permanent and I rather like the idea, mainly because for characters just starting out, 50 gold for a glyph is unattainable when you're an unfunded lvl 15...or 20 or 30. Also, because I have characters on a server where I know no one IRL (not that I haven't met nice people in-game, but they are unlikely to give you lots of gold or make something for free), that's especially important because those early glyphs are a useful boost, however minor that may be. For the glyph sellers out there, that would really cripple 'em, but that'd probably be for the best for the server economies, as the AH rates that people are setting for the dumbest low level things is absolutely ridiculous and I can feel no pity for them. The gold mine that is the inscription profession would take a hit, but only on the easy gold...there are still the cards to make money on.I'm glad that they got rid of the guild currency and guild talents...gold is easier and picking out the talents would have left entire guilds fighting over dumb things when they should be out raiding. You get a handful of GMs that refuse to listen to the guild and only pick out what they want and you hear about it in the forums. Guilds would probably ended up splitting up if it got bad enough. It was a smart deletion. Fixing the lockouts is brilliant because then you're not glued to a single raid ID...if you have to quit for RL reasons, you can pick it back up later on with another group. No more penalty!I don't understand why they aren't letting the heirlooms continue to 85...seems like it would be a simple matter of building on what's already there. How hard is it to just adjust number ranges? That's really just creating more work for them because they'll have to come up with new heirlooms (or figure out which old designs to recycle at least) and stats and how much each thing costs. (I'm sure they'd probably use whatever new badge they implement.) Seems like a lot of hassle for only 5 levels. Frankly, I'm praying for heirloom shields for everyone that can use one--we have weapons. Shields are important too! All we can really hope for at this point is that the new stuff isn't going to completely outclass the old, making all that stuff we already have obsolete, and frustrating us completely. Like I said, it seems more of a headache than a bonus. Not quite sure if grinding for guild rep is in the exact same sense as the rep we usually grind for every faction in existence...on the surface, it seems like it is. If it's like that, do you start out neutral? Hostile? Good lord, anything but hated! It would seem rather ridiculous to have such huge stretches for each level (21k for revered, etc.) unless you were getting rep from pretty much everything you do in the game. At least in most of my guilds, anything I can't use or think would benefit someone else gets dumped in the guild bank, so isn't everything I do technically benefiting the guild in some way? I think for me the major question is what quests reward guild rep? Ones to do with raids? Are they dailies? Quests that only reward guild rep and nothing else? I just hope it's not all centered around 80-85s, otherwise those starter guilds won't benefit from anything. And that would be sad.Archaeology is sounding pretty cool, despite still being rather vague!Hope they do something to kick the LF Raid interface into being more useful...I've never had any luck with that pitiful thing and it seems like it's just taking up space. Wouldn't it be weird if they put in a system for raids like what there is with the heroics? O_O People might actually do more old world stuff! The idea of cross-server raiding actually never occurred to me…probably because raids are naturally more complex than 5-mans.
This sounds excellent! I love it that Blizz actually scrap or delay stuff like PotT.It would just be too intense to increase 5 levels, professions, expore all of the newly changed world AND the new world, run dungeons and raids, and do archaeology. And WotLK had 1000 new quests. Cataclysm has over 3000!I am so excited./summon Cataclysm
I'm disappointed with the removal of Path of the Titans... I was really excited about it.
Meanwhile, in the Halls of Blizzard...
I'll be happy as long as they keep the tree of life as it is. Not as with a cooldown.
