What do I think? I think it's a tad late for an April Fools joke.
Terribad choice, this is a video game,,,Do I have to remind everyone of the Final Fantasy movie?Remember when they came out with that? No?My point.
Thrall will be in the movie. It will be told primarily from the Alliance point of view The time of the movie is set about 1 year before World of Warcraft begins. The film is mainly about cultures in conflict. It won't be an adventure movie like LoTR, more of a war film.(Source : BlizzCon 2007) There you go
The absolute BEST decision ever for director of this film. Raimi will make this world his own and he will go crazy intense with something like this where he can let his extreme vision of horror and fantasy let loose.
I think it's funny all these naysayers are suggesting it's gonna be horrible because:a) It's a movie based on a game.b) Sam Raimi is directing it.The thing is, if you love Warcraft in any way, shape, or form, how can you NOT see this movie, even if it turns out to be bad? By the way, did you know Legendary Pictures is going to produce it? These are the same people who made 300, Watchmen, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and several other blockbusters. I highly doubt this will be a bad film. They won't let this be a bad film.In regards to Sam Raimi, I am a bit biased. I find his films horrifically funny and exciting. Evil Dead II, imo, is the greatest movie ever made! He has a fun and different way of creating films, and it's a style some people are turned off by. All I can say is, Raimi + Warcraft = orgasm. :)
I didn't catch the typo in the press release... did they fix it or am I having a WOOSH moment? :(
Everyone go watch Evil Dead 3: Army of Darkness. It will give you a taste of how the WOW movie will look.
Yeah i hope the movie are just as awesome as the movies Raimi does. And we know the movie its gonna be about humans, because its gonna help the marketing, rather than have and orc or undead as protagonist and scare the people.Maybe something about how the King-of-humans got "Tortured" by those evil and green abominions, obviously showing how they are the bad guys and stuff.I want Cuddly orcs.Having from the point of view of the Orcs/Undead would be awesome, especially since Humans get so much publicity.
Ok yeah ...I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it!...but then again Someone metioned this will be a video game movie...video game movies do fail hard core...The only good video game to movie (I've) seen is Resident Evil.
They have so much lore to work with, I wonder what story from WoW they'll use.Personally, I'd love to see Arthas' descent into madness from the WC3 campaign.Except that the movie takes place one year before WoW.The movie is based on the Warcraft Universe and NOT on WoW?
From the press release:"Sam's passion for 'Warcraft' is undeniable and we know that he will create an incredible film worthy of Blizzard's phenomenal franchise."Really? Passion? .. link his main, I'll decide then.OK, I'll probably own the DVD .. but still .. link his main :)
here's hoping for the third war, tbh.

Not Warcraft 1, 2, or 3. But World of Warcraft game.here's hoping for the third war, tbh.Say it with me, "One. Year. Before. WoW."I don't get why I have to repeat this so often . . .
I can see it now, Raimi begins playing wow for "research". Three years later still no movie and come to think of it nobody has heard from Raimi since the last time he went to the convenience store to buy more game fuel.
Wow this is crazy.Just 5 minuites or so before I logged on and read this I was telling my Girlfriend about there being a wow movie and that I thought Sam Raime shouldbe the one to do it lol.
I reeeeally hope this doesn't end up like that DBZ movie ...I will be such a sad panda. I remember when I first heard about a DBZ movie being made years back. I was pretty hyped about it and then it finally makes it's way over here just to bomb. Please don't bomb on us WoW movie. I don't mind waiting years but the final thing have to show that it used those years wisely to make something awesome! :)
I'm excited.Sam Raimi is a really good director, despite the fact that Spiderman 3 kinda sucked.
He's done horror movies and Spiderman.AND THAT'S IT.Oi vey.......and won many award for them? What is yourpoint? He's proven he can direct movies outside of his favorite genre with more than spiderman btw. Besides if a director chooses to stay in one genre does that make him bad? Better phone Rob Zombie and let him know he needs to do a Dragon Ball Z Movie
I always thought Warcraft movies would be CG only, im not sure how it would look like to see an orc in live action (if he plans to do it live action)i personally have my fingers crossed for a cg moviemaybe its just me...on the other handTake this Uwe Boll ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!sorry i had to spit it out, wiki him and pity him :)
I remember reading somewhere that they aren't going to stick exactly to the game plan so it interests the general public more than the WoW player's themselves. I know, stupid right? But (I can't remember who) said that us gamer's are the "downloading type" and we're subject to downloading it instead of actually paying that ticket fee.Once again, I cannot remember my source... so chances are it's outdated. But I think that statement is fairly BS right there. I think it's best to take this press release with a grain of salt and not get your hopes up to what it should be according to WoW. Instead I think we should think about it as but what it should be according to the media and the general population of white-knuckle-intense-action-sequence so they generate more revenue.Personally, I think if they choose the latter they are running a risk of basterdizing the franchise of Warcraft. But that's just my two-cents.The full quote is "To be honest, the real gamers are the typical download guys, right? They don't pay anything for movies, because they illegally download the movies. So why please these guys? I need the normal audience." However, the person who said this was Uwe Boll, the filmmaker Blizzard refused to sell the rights for the movie to -- giving me hope that Blizzard doesn't share his views.
