The thing that killed wow for my husband and I was the dumbing down of the game, especially the talent point stuff. We probably won't ever be back.

I could be playing for free?
Wow is such a wicked game, i dunno how it could be losing so many subscribers. Personally, I think the pandas are gonna be awesome :D
Azazel: Cataclysm worse than Wrath? I think not. :P
I'm still subscribed mainly because I just put so much into my characters and cause close friends still play. I'm still deciding whether or not to continue with Pandas, just seem like a weak expansion.SWTOR was good. It's not gonna be as big as WoW but it's still a good refresher when you get bored of WoW. I hit 50 and I already started to cut back my play time.Really the only thing that kept me from playing WoW is Skyrim, but those are two different things LOL ;)PS. friends around me who have quit WoW say that their last expansion they played was WotLK. ie they consider it to be the last good expansion so far.
A lot of people are leaving due to the "GUILD DETHRONE" policy currently being auto-enforced. Yeah it was done manually by Blizzard Customer/GM service previously but now it's automated since Pathc 4.3. . .I have read many horror stories about guilds that have been around for years are now suddenly gone or taken over by mostly malicious players who intended to join a guild with the purpose of literally " stealing" the guild from under the guild members & guild master. The current "GUILD DETHRONE" policy is a paltry 30 days of guild master inactivity and the guild master is not sent an email (real world/outside the game) warning you of impending doom of losing your guild.Sure it is the responsibility of the guild master to ensure someone can take up the reigns in his/her absence but every situation is different. People have life occurences to tend to and most people put real life ahead of this game. (Sorry Blizzard Stockholders) Some people have family emergencies, deployment obligations and many other happenings that could & may prevent a guild master from logging on 30 days consecutively. As well, most people are not apprised to the current policy regarding guilds and have settled into a comfortable notion that their guild is safe from thieving players.I sympathize with guild masters whom have lost their guilds and I am shocked that Blizzard would impose such a shoddy short time period for inactivity by a guild master. If a player's inactive account can stay in database storage for months/years - why can't a guild master be offline for more than 30 days in a row and retain their guild? Just seems so unfair that people have worked so hard to build their guilds for many months/years only to have all that work yanked from them due to a policy that shows very little compassion to the person/players that have supported this game for so long.Perhaps this is one of the reasons why WoW subscriptions are dropping? How would you feel if you came home from a 30 day vacation and found people living in your home and claimed that "you weren't home for a while, so we took over your house?" Would really suck and you're damned sure to call the police.Blizzard have a heart, fix the "GUILD DETHRONE" policy to allow guild masters a 60-90 day offline/inactivity period and SEND MULTIPLE WARNING EMAILS to that guild master's real world email. I guarantee this would placate most players (and stockholders) into staying with this game.BTW - I am a guild master as well as an Activision Stockholder.
OMG ... really i missed wotlk and BC
It's trendy to hate, didn't you know?
