YESSS I love stuff like this, exciting asf! At least the place will still exist in older expansions, so go ahead, more huge consequences and moments plz.
There were some leaked photos on the WoW subreddit earlier, one of which showed a damaged but still largely whole dalaran. I suspect its more likely that part of the city will be destroyed/collapse but that it will largely remain standing.
They always make sure Dalaran Mages have SOMETHING to do at least every 2nd/3rd expansion otherwise they might fly away with that city into the nether, never to return back! 🤭
My eyebrows just shot through my hairline...
Gotta make that Light vs Void war just as black and white as possible, I see.
DADDYGHAR better be ok.
No, my favorite city
RIP Dalaran, the best city HUB. What could possibly replace it as an equal?
If they KILL my honkin DAD I'm gonna SCREAM Dalaran is fine, we've spent a lotta time there, I'm happy to lose it - sometimes you've just gotta let material things go but - but Dadgar. My only father figure. Please Blizz
Dalaran getting destroyed sucks but its over the top to kill yet another major lore figure for cheap shock value.
CITIZENS OF DALARAN!will becomeCORPSES OF DALARAN!
<Your vision swims as you slowly regain consciousness. Distant shouts and screams echo in your ringing ears. The last thing you remember is Dalaran, the great, floating city of magic, plummeting to the earth--then nothing but darkness.Mixed in with sounds of shouting and battle, you hear a strange, insectoid chittering. The nerubians were waiting for you.You must rejoin the fight, but first you need to free yourself from the crushing weight of the rubble piled atop you.>It sounds like the BG3 narrator !
Can we PLEASE STOP destroying iconic places for shock-value openers? It's like WoW *hates* worldbuilding; it's so shortsighted.Cataclysm wrecked Southshore, Taurajo, Basically all of Darkshore, The Loch Modan Dam and we've still seen nothing done with that; Pandaria blew up Theramore and we only received hints of what the area's like in BFA, WoD destroyed Nethergarde Keep and I doubt many people even remember that, and thetn BFA ruined Darnassus and the Undercity and it took them 4+ years of trickle-feeding content for people attached to those places to feel any kind of closure. All these "the enemy is such a big deal, look at what they destroyed!" openers do is create a vacuum for story content, or at worst they get ignored / forgotten about. It's exhausting and I can't believe the Blizzard Writers are still leaning into such a trite storytelling method.
RIP Dalaran. I hope we see rest of the Ruined City besides just Towers near the shore like the whole body of the city itself destroyed in ruins.
