My most epic dropi ever got happened to be the first time i went to Karazhan. I just hit 70 and started asked my guild to run Kara . After what seemed liked months they agreed and while we worked our way up to Curator and killed him my T4 gloves dropped. At that very moment something clicked in the back of my head that said " this is what it means to be a 70"
/sigh...This story, MIGHT have been about gaining some phat lootz, but alas, it is not.So, i just hit level 80 this weekend (woot) and i've been a little busy bee trying to get some heroic/raid gear. Yeah every group i have been in has crashed and burned thus far, almost never making it to the last boss and if we do we either wipe and give up or someone is DC'd or called away. Anyway earlier today i was in heroic Violet Hold group, and we reach the Dreaded Zurmat the Obliterator.... and like leaves in autumn we fall. wiping over and over again, cursing those void sentries with every curse we know. until... we succeed, bolstered my party and i finish the instance with renewed vigor and defeat Cyanigosa with ease! and what's more! the epic Azure Cloth Bracers drop! and the group says i can have them! more than happily i press the need button and watch everyone else select pass... except for one.... the hunter in our group selected need, and took my prize from me... so instead of getting epic loot... i got epic anger. But do not worry! i informed the hunter ninja's guildmaster and there's one more guildless hunter in the Azgalor server.Thank you for your time. Taygin, Human Mage of Azgalor.
My most EPIC loot, was in fact a cobalt ore. Yes, you heard me, a Cobalt Ore. I was questing in Coldarra on my Prot pally. I saw a node on the map, and ran by an alliance death knight and an alliance ret pally to get to it. I mined it once, and got an ore. The Death Knight ran behind the hill to where i was, and started attacking me. I Hammer of Justiced him, and finished mining the node. The ret pally then came, and after making the death knight watch me mine, i killed him, the pally, and the death knight one more time when he respawned as a ghoul.I then learned the awesomeness of being a prot pally and teaching the death knights to play a real class.Lucky me :)
It was pre BC. Pre a lot of stuff actually, black wing lair didn't even exist. I was watching the video world of roguecraft (part 3 i think). My friend showed it to me, telling me how this lvl 60 lock rolled a rogue just to show people how rogues can win without gear. Anyhow, he makes mention of the Headmasters Charge, a staff that dropped off the last boss in Scholomance. The character in the video spoke of how this was the only epic weapon made for warlocks, and once i saw it, i knew i had to have it!I ran Scholomance countless times, and this was rough. We didn't have Molten Core gear to get us through it, the world was mostly populated with what you could scrape together from UBRS runs and Crafting. I was rocking my mooncloth robe with style!I never did get that staff. As the character in the video said, it was put in more as a joke. And my buddy told me he had only seen it twice, and both times it was on a mage!Fast forward to about two months ago. Me and another friend of mine are farming up Argent Dawn rep for the achievement. We run undead strat in about 25 minutes, then go to scholo for a quick slaughter there. The first time we entered and summoned Darkmaster Gandling he drops the Headmasters Charge!I FINALLY GOT IT!...on my Shamanbut I will cherish it for ever!
Demon Stalker Gauntlets. I thought that were so awesome, until WOTLK. Now they suck.
The most epic was the first epic I found, which was Hurricane. Found it with a friend, and since I was a hunter he let me have it. Unfortunately, I equipped it instead of selling it for tons of gold!
When I first started playing during the first few months of release I had hit level 60 and I was farming to get an epic mount. I was in the first batch of people to hit level 60. While farming some random mobs for gold Taran the Icebreaker a level 50 epic dropped and I sold it for a ton of gold. I was one of the first persons on the server to get an epic ram. If only I had kept the original one than trade it in for another. But nonetheless this was the most exciting moment for my time playing WoW. I remember when the epic item dropped, I was so unbelievably excited. Everything since then hasnt been as exciting but of course its been alot of fun. And Id love to get a rare mount for once! Thanks for reading.
Back in Vanilla WoW, I managed to - somehow - get to Revered with Thorium Brotherhood without gouging my own eyes out. As a leatherworker, it was the biggest thrill standing inside the gates of BWL, where few had yet to venture at that time, and making my first Corehound Belt. The other druids in the raid went mental, and for months afterwards all the guilds hit me up for the craft, as they needed the FR and I was the only one on the server dedicated (or mental) enough to get the pattern. At the time, it was amazing for FR, and was better than T2 for +heal (the most important stat for downranking HT, ahh those were the days...), so it filled me with pride standing in IF with my fairly unique item and having people in guilds even further advanced than ours drool over it and almost beg me to help them out. Then BWL became farmable, MC was pugged, everyone and their mothers had Fiery Cores and such to get rep easily, and suddenly it wasn't that big a deal. Big ego-deflation.Still, at the time it was amazing.
Our raids first real attempt at Illidan resulted in my winning of the Cursed Vision of Sargeras. And if that weren't epic enough, I beat a good friend by less than ten points in our DKP system!
