I got the ring of power drop on the Isle then 2 days later got an epic mail head piece from the same area.
Most epic drop would be Bloodrazor for my rogue.
Mine would have been back pre-BC after I had just dinged 60. I was trying to get the money together to buy my first epic mount. I was about 400g away, and it was taking forever. I was going through all the zones trying to pick up all the quests I could.. I was questing in Azshara, killed a ghost, and looted a Precisely Calibrated Boomstick! I think it sold for around 350, I managed to muster up another 50g and finally bought my Swift Frostsaber, who remains my primary ground mount, 3 years later =). So that item was probably the most significant thing I've found in the game. I've since looted better epics and sold things for more money, but I've never found anything that excited me as much.
The first time i ever fought the Darkmaster Gandling in Scholo. My level 70 warrior had tried to get to him a hundred times but due to my lack of any elemental damage, i could never get past the physical immune shadow guys. So i drug along our new level 60 priest, and two manned it. When he started teleporting us around, i was sure we were dead, but three close calls for the priest and some heavy rushing on my part, we finally downed him before he killed her. And she got the Robe of the Void plans out of it. So she was happy, and i finally got to kill him, lol.
My most epic drop of all time was first going through Molten Core and finally defeating Ragnaros... after all the fun that was had we finally got to the loot. And Perditions Blade dropped for the Rogues! I managed to have the highest points and finally got the sweetest dagger at that time! The drop + the down + the fight in it's entirety was what made it truly epic!
There I was in Stormwind City's Old Town, a druid searching for a diplomat that the humans had misplaced somewhere. Well, I meet up with this dwarf who was supposed to have some information for me. Of course, he's not in a talking mood and calls some of his minions to rough me up. Unfortunately for them, I proved tougher than just some cat. After they admit defeat and the dwarf agrees to give up the intelligence on the missing man, one of the guys just couldn't let their defeat go.Well, he starts something and I beat him up just like I did his boss. In his haste to escape, he dropped the fabled Redbeard Crest, which I claimed as my own for the trouble. That fight also gave me a level of insight into being a druid. I sold that to a passing Warsong Gladiator for enough to pay for the training for my very own Frostsaber and to pay my friends in Moonglade to continue my training and still have some spending money.(Non-story version: I was doing The Missing Diplomat http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=1447 and one of the adds attacked me after Stonefist reset and had the ? over his head. After he died, I dinged to 30 and the add dropped the Redbeard Crest twink shield, which I sold and used the money for my mount training and to catch up on spells.)
It was a week or two ago.It was my first raid that I've been in. It was a raid group some people made to take Nagrand back from the Horde. After a number of bombing runs, we eventually killed the guards, or weakened them enough for us to storm through and to tank and spank. It was Zul'Gurub, and I was a lvl 57 rogue. There were just enough healerz to have one healer in each group, some tanks, and a lot DPS. It was fairly unorganized, but we weren't wiping. It was almost exactly like an Alterac Valley Battleground. Stay with the main group and you'll be fine. Get seperated from the main group and you're screwed.Eventually, we were going into on of the temples. Me and about three others (I think a mage, paladin, and a priest) ahead of the main group. We eventually entered a medium sized room with a gong at the opposite end that we entered in. I had rushed in with sprint and was looking around for mobs, but all I saw was a gong. When I noticed it was clickable, I approached it (still with my sprint boost), and... Well, I clicked it. The entrance to the room was sealed immediately, just before the rest of the raid group could enter. Confused, I stealthed, and it was just me and the other three. I could here the people sealed off shouting "WTF!" and before I could understand what was happening, stealthed cats began pouring into the room, along with a boss, and the battle had begun. It was an intense fight as we slaughtered the cats and began wailing on the boss. Luckily the paladin was able to keep aggro and tank, the mage AoE'ing the cats to death, me mainly DPS'ing the boss, and the priest keeping us healed. I don't know we stood there, but the cats were constantly pouring in while the boss' hp kept getting lower and lower. First the mage ran out of mana, and eventually so did the priest. Unable to keep healed, the paladin had to use the last of his remaining mana to heal himself a few times. The paladin kept fighting hard, and I noticed the boss had only 15% hp left, but the innevitable finally came and he was finally overcome. Next were the mage and the priest, who had ended up wanding the mobs. The hundreds of cats shredded the cloth users in an instant. With the other three players in the room down, the boss and the cats turned on me.- *VANISH.*
Well so far this week i've been saying that my Recipe: Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops has been my most epic drop, but finally 2 nights ago my Tome of Poly: Turtle dropped, on my 48th ZG run, I'm one happy mage :-)
