Onyxia. 40 man Pre-BC tier 2 helm drops. I spent more hours in there than in a gym....I craved for my hunter helm. That would have marked my 5/8 set bonus and stat increase but it just kept on dropping warrior, druid, and shaman. One night, I was late for the raid because of a school...something. The raid was full and I was 1st in line if someone else bailed. I was in their vent channel getting the play-by-play. Eventually, I hear them engaging Onyxia... It at first sounded like a wipe, but they pulled through. Like every other Onyxia kill, my heart was pounding. I just had to hear the results. Then I watched the spam of "grats" in guild chat to my lower seniority hunter. I was devasted. I almost couldn't bear to sit down and gaze at the chat flow. Let's just say that I left a permanent hole somewhere. What seemed like a huge portion of my time spent, was just a stopbyandloot to a fellow hunter. So for the continued time of pre-bc raiding, I was jealous of that hunter. I learned to not trust drop-rates....slowly.
My most epic loot back when I was noob was anything that dropped while I was in shadowfang keep. best. place. ever.
I like my pet Mojo the frog, lol, best pet drop ever!
Most epic loot for me would be just my entire first time in Karazhan with my guild. I'd been having bad luck with gearing up with loot from heroics for my pally, while everyone else in the guild that was 70 had been gearing up pretty well. Finally respecced to holy, and started havign a bit of better luck gearing up, but was still pretty undergeared compared to everyone else. Since there were already two healers htough, they decided to take me along as a tagalong third healer. So glad they did, because every single boss up through Chess event dropped gear for a holydin, and I went from the worst geared to best geared in the guild in one evening. It was a great feeling.
Back when I first hit 60, I went to MC a bunch with my guild. I had been getting DKP for showing up on time, and killing the bosses, but the only times my tier 1 set dropped, I lost the DKP additive rolls. About 6 weeks later I had yet to get a piece of tier 1, and my guild decides to do BWL. (back when Razorgore was DI-able.) So we go in and 1 shot Razorgore, and low and behold, my hunter bracers drop. Because I never won a single piece of tier 1, I had the second most DKP for hunters, so we roll off, and I roll a 100, add my DKP, and BAM! I won the roll. so my very first epic was tier 2 bracers. It was awesome!
Day : 1 day before wotlk came outGoal : to get atleast 1 misplaced servo arm for my 60 shaman twinkwas me (shaman) a war tank, shammy healer, and a hunter. what basically happened was we were trying to get me a servo arm. so one dropped i was all happy. then we went to patchwerk and the severance dropped twas a great day. so the expansion comes i log onto my shammy to do some av... what i see is that my shammy is now 1 xp away from lvling to 61... So i complain to a gm and there's nothing i can do. The End very sad day for 60 twinks...btw.... I am a tank on sand.
I think the most epic loot I ever got was The Decapitator. I got it in one of my only Kara runs, and it was my main hand weapon until I just could rationalize it against WotLK loot. I definitely won't give it up, though. I've still got the macro that throws it and says, "Axe to the face!"
I know i use this one every day but i have never been so excited about anything in the game as much as this ok so yeah The Horseman's Reinsit was my first seasonal boss fight ever and i had barely broken my bank paying for my epic flight training and did not have enough to buy the actual mount to fly! so i was off to get a broomstick mount to get me by (for 14 days) !so there we are second round of headless boss, broomstick in the bag and Bam there it is in big purple letters "The Horseman's Reins" ! it was calling to me i cast my need roll ....... with a 99 .......Marz rolls 17 ........Pach rolls 33, Nciteful receives "The Horseman's Reins"....... Victory I Won so I ran off to Brill to pumpkin head people atop my mount ! MWAHAHA
I'd have to say the most epic fight I've ever been in was the first time I ever went to Magister's Terrace. I was a druid, resto-specced before WotLK and before the talent rearrangements, and the group only had Kael left to down. I kept the group alive pretty well, considering I was undergeared and had never done it before, but eventually, one by one, the group died, leaving just me and the prot pally. I managed to keep him up for a while, but my HoTs just didn't heal fast enough. He fell, and I was about to give up... When all of a sudden, I glared at Kael on my screen. I glanced down at my reflection in my little iMac's apple logo, nodded, and placed my index finger on the 4 key. I hit that key as fast as I could for about three minutes, spamfiring Kael straight to the end of his 5% hp. I didn't stop to heal or put on my boomkin weapon. After the pixels had settled, I finally took a breath and grinned wide, watching the text fly by in the chat window from my group, cheering and saying "Res the pally! Res the pally!"The stupid 2-handed axe dropped, along with the Cloak of Blade Turning, but I had gotten the most epic loot out of anyone present: I spamfired Kael'Thas Sunstrider's ass to death.
