I would have to say my most "epic" drop would have to be from the Dire Maul set of instances, out of Dire Maul East, was not an epic drop by any means, infact far from, but the comedy from this item, and the humor it brought to the game for me made it epic in my opinion, and it was the "pocket lint" drop I had, and I carried it for several months, never got old having some good ol' pocket lint in my characters "pockets" (aka bags).
The most epic loot i ever found was Pet Rock... It looks happy and that makes me happy... and happy is epic!
My Mature Blue Dragon Sinew. Took 2+ weeks of farming several hours a day before that mofo dropped.
My most epic drop was my Tier 3 Frostfire Shoulderpads (mage Tier 3)I had been running 40 man (level 60 Naxx) for several months, as a level 70, and been running with a pug group, for the purpose of getting old Tier 3 pieces. Originally, I ran the instance run to get a shoulder enchant for my twink, and, after getting it, decided to run for the sake of earning some nice money on the side (When an item dropped, it went up for bid. The winner payed the raid leader the winning amount , and then received the item through master loot. At the end, the raid leader divided up all the money amongst those who had not spent money on an item ).So, I ran for money. Several runs after I first started going, about mid-summer of 08, I gained two Tier 3 pieces with a random roll (gloves and bracers). And then ended up buying two more pieces for 50g ea (the minimum bid). I figured "why stop there", and ended up getting six pieces all together, all for less than 500g.We'd all heard that Naxxramas was getting moved to Northrend in patch 3.0, so our runs were suddenly very limited, there were only about 10 runs left. The very next run I got the Tier 3 pants for 700g, and all that was left was my shoulders and the ring. I really, really wanted the shoulders, but they hadn't dropped yet.About this time, a lot of competition began to show up for the shoulders, a lot of wealthy players who still needed their last or 2nd to last pieces. One of them, a mage, was rumored to have 20,000 gold at his disposal, and he was still in need of the shoulders. I was a little worried, as I only had a few thousand of my own money, maybe two thousand. The run before the last, the ring dropped, but I did not bid on it, still gunning for the shoulders dropping, but, alas, they did not.On the very last Saturday before patch 3.0, we started our last run of 40 man naxx ever. It went well, with some nice drops coming out left and right, even some I had not seen yet. We came to Patchwerk and Grobbulus, the two bosses that dropped the shoulder tokens.Patchwerk died first, and he dropped the rogue/warrior shoulders. That meant there was only one last chance left for the Tier 3 cloth shoulders.I had 3.5k of my own money saved up, and a friend in the raid was going to loan me 3k if they dropped. We fought Grobbulus, and almost wiped, but we killed him....Alas, he dropped the shoulders! Instantly, I bid 1000g, and the other mage put up 1025g. The price kept climbing, at first slowly, but then it went faster, soon going up in 100s. As we neared 6k, another mage whispered me and said I had up to 2k from him, and he cheered me on, telling me to go for it.6.5k...7k...7.5k...And, as the challenger put up 8k, I put up 8.1k, knowing that 8.5k was my limit...And...through some miracle...He said "I give...Take them...They are not worth that much. Take em..."For a few brief moments, I knew what it felt like to be God. I also earned myself a 4.5k debt, but...It was so worth it.In the end, I only ended up getting 8 of the 9 tier 3 pieces of the Frostfire Regalia. I never did get the ring, but I was very happy with all that I did get, in the course of a few runs.It was, indeed, my most EPIC drop ever.http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=526#screenshots (for some screenshots of my mage now; please note I am not the one with Atiesh)
Honestly, there's been a lot of epic drops in the four years I've played WoW, but the best one definitely had to be getting my Heroism set. I spent forever learning the gauntlet in Stratholme, getting prepared for it. Then it finally came out, and me and my close friends worked at it.Back then, we had nothing but non-raid blues, perhaps a few crafted epics, and still we spent all the time that we had working at it. Flasks, practicing each route until finally we managed to figure out what was best for us.The day came, and we ran inside, flasked up, prepared to go... then we opened the gate. By the time we took out the three bosses guarding the ziggurats, we were behind... several unfortunate fears, along with the eyes finding us invading the city caused us to have to ressurect several members. But we stood in front of the final stretch, the abominations. We had just a few more minutes, and all of us were feeling anxious."Come on guys. Let's show the server that this is not too hard, that *we* can do it." The priest said. "We have the skills, we can do it!"We charged. And pulled the Baron with less than a minute to spare. The cheering we all did back then still rings in my ears anytime I pick up a new piece of gear that I worked hard for.
Well I was a lvl 57 Rogue when my guild decided to do the Leeeeeeeroy! achievement. I tagged along and while we were there, they were killing Warchief Rend Blackhand and then Felstriker dropped. Everyone was like WTF. They were saying they used to try to farm that TBC cause it was one of the most epic daggers back then. I was like awwww yeaaaaa.
The most epic loot to drop for me happened after I just joined a raid guild. On my first run of Black Wing Liar we did a full clear. On the fight of Nef the Bloodfang Chest dropped and I was the only person to not have one. So I got my first piece of Bwl loot!
The most epic drop I had was the epic dagger from the Prince in Kara!
I was doing dailies with my husband and well he is a hunter and he tends to get a bit kill happy, anyway after the third time of him clearing the boats and I am getting really annoyed becuase we still have to do the off island dailies.. I am complaining that i still have to go cook and we have to leave, he says we can just order food the very next kill after he says that The Ancient Scepter of Sue-Min droped. Then my husband says to me see even wow thinks we should just order dinner.
my most epic loot was in The Storm Peaks was spamming my macro and i spotted Time-Lost Proto Drake. i spotted him after like 2 weeks i flew down and aggroed him and doped using my shield i gridded from uldaman but i noticed that thare was a ali watching me i mean i was thinking he was going to gank me and steal my kill. he came down and tryed to kill me but i poped my cds and my healing trinket got my kill and my mount =)))
