Nighthold is Legion's third raid, a large instance with 10 bosses, scheduled to open on January 17th. Our
Nighthold loot guide is up
organizing the loot by armor type and slot and relics by type. The guide also covers Tier 19 armor sets, special loot like mounts, and other rewards.
We've highlighted some important gear and mount information below, but check out the
full guide
for a detailed loot breakdown.
Edit: Our raid strategy guides are also up!
Check them out here
.

Gear Overview
Note that our full
loot guide
links to the 7.1.5 PTR versions of items, not the 7.1 versions. This is because
Nighthold loot is changing
in 7.1.5. Many items are getting
changed stats and item levels
, and all items are part of the secondary stat rebalancing project. The gear you can look up currently in game via the Dungeon Journal is different than what you will be seeing when 7.1.5 hits.
Nighthold loot has a progressively higher base-ilvl as you progress through the instance.
Skorpyron
,
Chronomatic Anomaly
and
Trilliax
are ilvl 855 LFR, ilvl 870 Normal, ilvl 885 Heroic, and ilvl 900 Mythic.
Spellblade Aluriel
,
Tichondrius
,
Krosus
,
High Botanist Tel'arn
,
Star Augur Etraeus
,
Elisande
are ilvl 860 LFR, ilvl 875 Normal, ilvl 890 Heroic, and ilvl 905 Mythic.
Gul'dan
is ilvl 865 LFR, ilvl 880 Normal, ilvl 895 Heroic, and ilvl 910 Mythic.
The bosses who drop Tier 19 loot are:
Elisande
: Helm
Krosus
: Chest
Tichondrius
: Shoulder
Star Augur Etraeus
: Gloves
Gul'dan
: Legs
Trilliax
: Cape
There are six tier pieces, up from the usual five, but only 2 and 4 piece set bonuses. Nighthold loot looks the same as Emerald Nightmare loot, but drops
additional items
so players can acquire a full transmog look.
Some notable loot includes
Ring of the Scoured Clan
referencing Draenor Gul'dan's clan,
Lionshead Lapel Clasp
referencing Varian's armor, and
Warchief's Shattered Tusk
referencing Vol'jin.
Mounts Overview
Nighthold is related to several mounts, which we've made modelviewer videos for below. Other fun rewards of note include:
is a title for defeating Mythic Gul'dan.
Chronomatic Anomaly
drops the weapon illusion
Illusion: Chronos
.
Glyph of Twilight Bloom
: Modifies your Lifebloom to appear as a large blooming twilight flower.
You can also click on the mount links below to go to the page in our database and view them in Wowhead's modelviewer by clicking on "View 3D."
Living Infernal Core
, following the pattern of mounts like
Reins of the Blazing Drake
, should be a low drop from all difficulties save LFR.
Fiendish Hellfire Core
, following the pattern of mounts like
Felsteel Annihilator
and
Ironhoof Destroyer
, should be a 100% drop on Mythic difficulty.
Steelbound Harness
is from a Blacksmithing recipe from
Tichondrius
.
Glory of the Legion Raider
requires special achievements from both Emerald Nightmare and Nighthold. It rewards the
Defiled Reins
moose mount.
Arcanist's Manasaber
is a reward from
Fate of the Nightborne
; this is the final quest in a long series from
Insurrection
.

Since my guild has once again died down again halfway into an expansion, I guess I won't have a chance at any of them except for the Arcanist's Manasaber. :(
We are 4 months in, not close to half way. But you are right, fastest exodus of players in an expansion i have ever seen in 11 1/2 years. Its Christmas Holiday and there is if lucky, 5-6 other players at the daily cache rep WQ,s to even help if needed, the number of groups for anything is HALF of what they were in the last six months of WoD.
So sad.
Anecdotally, I saw a greater exodus in MoP and WoD. Legion has held the attention of more people than most that I've seen.
Same here. Several of my friends are still around this time who had definitely taken off by this point in WoD.
My own guild is at its peak of activity atm. There is plenty to do. Our goal is 7/7 mythic before NH release.
