When i first heard about 31-point trees i was pretty excited but after seeing them i think blizz should stop trying to be innovative and just give us 5 more talent points. and BRING BACK FROST TANKING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! they allow no room for choice the only decision is what are the 2 most useless talents which u can skip. there is no problem with the current talent trees but blizz wants to cater to noobs who are like DUH.... what is this "spec" you speak of?

The trees overall are nice that they've gotten smaller and it's a decent talent set to start off with. my only issue is that 5 points per tier just seems too much with the few trees I've played around with. I felt myself having to go back up the tree and put points in things I feel wouldnt really benefit my character in a pve situation because I needed to get lower.. essentialy the same situation we're in now. I dont think it needs to be reduced to 3 per tier like the pets have but maybe 4 per tier might be enough to get the flow feeling right.
I have to say that even though this is a first pass, it's looking a bit disappointing.I love the idea of not having to dump talent points into trivial talents just to get to the next tier. But with the tree reduced so much, it's essentially boiled down to "dump points into everything in one talent tree." I messed around with a build like what my frost mage currently has -- and there are only a handful of skills I skipped in the frost tree. Wasn't this supposed to be more flexible?Talent calculator bug: I couldn't finish making my feral kitty druid talent tree. The skill that is dependent on Rend and Tear isn't showing a tooltip, and spending a point there does not count for the number of points I've spent altogether. I'm not sure if there's only one point available there or if that skill has multiple levels. And even if I could spend all 30 points needed to unlock Berserk... I never use that skill so I haven't spent a point on it for my current feral druid. But I'd have to spend that point to unlock the Restoration tree? Disappointing. Especially since we will have so few talent points to work with. This is another case of "well, I want to get to the next tier of talents, so I'll just dump skills in almost everything." Consider the first whole tier of feral druid talents -- zero choice at all, you must spend five points to open up the second tier.I know the druid tree is one of the ones that needs more work, but I didn't see Omen of Clarity anywhere on there. This would be a pretty significant loss to Feral druids (assuming it's one of those "spec into restoration and automatically get it" kind of skills).Of course I'll be happy to reserve judgment until we see the final versions, but after looking at this I'm not optimistic. The revised talent trees don't look horrible, but I don't see the quantity of improvements I was expecting.
I looked at the trees for characters I have. Pretty much, I'm disappointed that it seems you have to follow a pretty definite Tank or DPS or Healing spec. It feels like they don't want you to mix or match. For Feral Druids (Mainly Bear form), I'm disappointed. There's no Damage Reduction talent like the other tank classes. Also, it looks like they've removed too much of the 'Bear' talents. It seems like Blizzard wants F.Druids to go cat..Prot Warriors, I'm actually liking. A couple new & interesting talents. Blood DKs.. No more Heart Strike? :(S.Priest, I'm liking. It seems like they just mashed the Shadow tree down so that it didn't take too many hits & changes, but is now more compact. Resto Shaman. Again, I like, but I also liked to have a few points in the Enhancement and Elemental trees, whereas in Cataclysm, I cannot. That kind of saddens me, but I still think Shaman will remain amazing healers.I'm very happy with what Combat Rogues are looking like! Finally, I can have even more fun with my Rogue :PI can't load the Paladin talents for some reason.. so i'll do that some other time. I just hope they remain OP :)
I liked it better with the 76 points and the variety to choosenow its just too simple and the talents are more obligatory too
