Ugh.. I'm mixed with this whole idea. While i love the fact that those who can manage legitimate ways to make the coin to bid on said items, I have to loath the idea of a few snotty nosed people can and will simply buy the Gold required (as we all know it goes on) to get items a lot of people have spent an age grinding out, forming groups, coming to terms with deals to be bartered. I'm aware that most of the items can still be obtained, can still be farmed, it just narks me a little to see (to be honest) a good couple of years down the pipe, for someone who can pick these up on a 'quiet day' at the Black Market.Let's just hope that for some items, the FoS isn't given!
Also just to Add (after reading through a few pages on the subject)Some are saying this will balance out the economy. Really?Players will sell items for even MORE inflated prices, because they will want their hands on the luxury items this 'Gold Sink' will have to offer. I can appreciate that the 'Gold Capped' ones amongst us may have nothing better to spend it on (complete horse crap btw.. I used to (and will start again when i return) every 2 weeks i spend 20-30k on the AH on Mazrigos and hold public auctions/give aways to help some others out.. extend the hand a little)Shame... but i do feel this will boost Gold Sales, sorry if a lot disagree.Regards
Some of this I'm okay with, but the possibilities of items being put up for auction that really shouldn't be.Among items that should never ever be put up on the auction house would be the Corrupted Ashbringer and obviously any legendaries. Now I have no problem w/ tier 3, vanity pets are fine, mounts, well some i have a problem with. I'd sorta like to not have the deathcharger or ashes of a'lar just because it devalues the mount for those who earned it the right way. Now it may be a no factor though, depending on how often items like that are posted. 1 Ashes of A'lar every 2 months is reasonable.I know some may disagree with me, but I'm of the impression that past achievements of those who earned it should not be devalued just because someone was able to farm gold enough. For example, my favorite mount is the raven lord, I ran sethekk everyday for 2 months for it, and it finally dropped. I associate the most value of all my mounts to the Raven Lord along with my netherdrake. And I enjoy being one of the very small minority of own one.Again, its a decent concept in theory but I fear that the system will over extend its bounds once people get tired of whats already on there, and items that should never even be considered for posting will be posted. The one item I most hope not to see on the Black Market Auction House would definitely be the Corrupted Ashbringer, easily the most valuable item in the game. Why is it so valuable? Because it had a low as hell drop rate and dropped off the 4 Horsemen in Naxx 40, and very very few guilds ever got even halfway through naxx, many getting stuck at Patchwerk let alone had the sword drop.Anyways enough ranting, all in all, decent idea, I feel that it will overextend its bounds eventually. That is all.Edit: And I heavily agree with the person above, having massive sums of gold has now become more valuable. The price range of the BMAH was said to be 10k-20k, well guess what numbers gold sellers will be advertising most then.....
Bullcrap, utter complete nonsense. Gold sellers haven't gotten their supply from farming since early TBC.Hacking. That is how gold sellers get money, that is how its done, the easiest and most efficient way. Do you think people hack others for fun? Take all the money and DE the gear for sport? Hell no.Gold sellers do not help an economy. You can say lower mat prices but then that hurts sellers at the end of the day. If they helped the economy, then why is gold selling against the terms of service? Now your experience of rolling a new character and being able to afford the flight training is interesting, could you look at your time /played on that character? It has to be atleast a day or 2. And it can take a hacker a matter of minutes to snatch that money right up because its far more efficient to do that then it is to do it the right way.Sure people complain about AH prices and economy, the thing is, yes its the majority, the majority of people on every server hate their economy and its completely unreasonable because in this regard no matter what server they go to they will not be totally satisfied. Kind of like how in battlegrounds people on the alliance say the alliance sucks at pvp, and likewise on the horde. They are insatiable. So in theory, all the economies are good. Now another point, you said that most people are buyers not sellers, so its a sellers market. Fair enough. That can't really change, as most people prefer production professions vastly over gathering. Thats how it will always be, gold farmers stealing people's money cannot and will not help that. P.S. I understand where your coming from, but it seems Blizzard more often listens to the vocal minority than the silent majority, thats why wrath of the lich king was so bad in terms of raid content, oh look Ulduar, a decent challenge, and a week later its nerfed into the ground because people were so used to facerolling Naxx, went into Ulduar, got pummeled, and whined and !@#$%ed about it.
because you don't seem to understand not everyone plays the game for progression or high arena ratings. some people just play for the vanity items. This idea here will ruin that for those players. people who spent time and time to get a beautiful ashes of alar mount, only to have the guy next to me who sits in org all day and buys gold online acquire it with one click of a button. its ridiculous and it makes me want to quit the game very much.
I like this.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
So in other words, WoW veterans or players that have patiently and tirelessly farmed mounts or gear have nothing to be proud of anymore. This is the final straw. I quit.
*personal Feat of Strength earned* =P
The fact that you are quitting over something you never have to use and won't impact your personal play time at all is still very petty.
Oooh. Interesting.
I'm not sure I find this novel or funny.I earned my Tier 3 the hard way. Why should some shmuck who plays the AH get it too? I didn't think development would curve towards gold farming the same way it does on Diablo 3. Sure, it's not progression gear or anything, but now it'll be hard to tell if anyone really got their Trophy / Achievements simply by BUYING them.It devalues the whole meaning behind obtaining them.
