Mine would have to be the wizard of oz event in Kara, between random bosses and the Ruby red slippers drop, lol, it was just a fun, and funny, boss fight.Although all of the Kara bosses really stood out to me, it was my first major raid.
My favorite encounter would be a cliche, it is most definatly killing the Lich King for the first time and the feeling of importance and success when he is being held in the air by all the souls that were previously in Frostmourne and utterly demolishing him then that final cutscene. That is by far my favorite encounter.
i really enjoyed doing conclave of wind Heroic dpsing Rohash, i really enjoy this fight because not 1 pull is the same, you always need to pay attention to the whirlwinds and the wind blast + burst the storm shield to survive. This makes it a really awesome fight for me
Anub'arak in Trial of the Crusader was my favorite encounter. The roaring of the crowd pierces your ears as you overcome the last challenge issued to you and your raid which really gives you a sense of accomplishment, that you will get to march with the Argent Crusade to Icecrown Citadel. When the Lich King throws you into the depths below the coliseum, to end up face to face with one of the Lich King's most powerful minions, you can't help but to quickly brush off any intimidation you might of felt from this crypt lord, the previous challenges had clearly tempered your mind and body, you gladly accept the Lich King's challenge and engage this crypt lord... Looking back on it, many people did not seem to enjoy this encounter, but if you take a moment to realize the thrill of excitement people went through when they finally beat this guy, you might find that you had a good time! I know I enjoyed this fight a lot.
Malygos was my favorite of the bosses that I've done. It was the first huge dragon I killed with a raid and the fight itself was just awesome. My favorite fight that I never did was Algalon, the setting was just awesome. I'm a sucker for that cosmic space-like feel.
I'm actually going to say the last phase in Halls of Reflection to be my favorite encounter. Skirting around the Lich King and Lady Sylvanas while being oh so tempted to take a shot at Arthas :)"Guys, my pet could totally kick the Lich King's.... No! Fluffy!"

Having done the first part of Ulduar for the very first time last night, I have to say the siege battle is my favorite encounter thus far. I panicked at first because I generally hate vehicle quests, but this was fun. Even though we were trying for the achievement to not repair our vehicles, I didn't find myself stressing out over any section of it. I was almost sad to see it end. Before Ulduar, my favorite was probably the part everyone hates - the drake battles in Oculus. Granted, I haven't tried flying the emerald or ruby drakes, but it's still quite fun to me.
XT-002 I just love his voice.
I feel like such a copycat for saying this, but obviously the Chess Event in Kara. It's so fun!A close second is the Romulo and Julianne.
My personal favorite encounter of World of Warcraft...this is a rather tough one for me, but I will have to honestly say it's Lord Godfrey from Shadowfang Keep--and I'm talking about the lower level version, not the heroic 85 version. When I was leveling my first character (A warrior, protection spec), I found out that there was a thing called the Dungeon Finder thanks to one of my new guildmates when I was level 18. I decided to use it, and was placed in a group for Shadowfang Keep. I was both nervous and excited. Because the healer and DPS were mostly in heirlooms (Like I knew what that was back then) the run went very smoothly...then we reached Godfrey. Sure, in comparison to other encounters named above and possibly below this post, it would look like a simple tank and spank. But to someone new to this game, this had to be one of the toughest fights I'd ever encountered. It also wins my vote because..well my warrior's a Worgen to begin with, so seeing Godfrey and the other two Lords was actually a nice surprise for me. The fact that they linked the two zones together like tt made me very giddy inside, and is one of the reasons I kept playing...although I swear if I have to go through Outland one more time...
by far illidan. im such a fanboy of all tbc raids but illidan is by far the best and epic encounter they´ve ever done. all the lore about him just everything about him
Honestly, I'd have to say the Shade of Aran Karazhan boss fight. We did horribly, yet I started saying "I will not move when Flame Wreath is cast, or the raid blows up..." and every verse one other person joins in. It was awesome!
Kil'Jaeden. My cousin and his raiding guild were going to do Sunwell for whoever didn't have the achievement and they happened to be a dps short so I got to come. Just the epic way he entered the room by crawling out of the swirling pit of firey doom in the center of the room has stuck in my mind ever since.
I love the gauntlet in Heroic Deadmines. It's so much fun, especially the Mario-esque lightning hallway. Its nice to get a little backstory of the bosses as well.
