Ooo, great guide! I didn't know about treasure chests giving xp now, that's new. Also, the +5% int boost for clothie casters wasn't something I had linked to the other classes's armour specialisations - now it makes sense, well d'oh, but it never clicked in my head till I read it here.Just a few small things I noticed.. normally I don't nitpick like this, but since this is a guide people will refer to for (hopefully) a long time I thought I'd mention these things - with the intention to help out:- the reward for random LFD changing to JP isn't at 70, but at Wrath level. My level 69 alt can already get JP if he queues up for a random WotLK dungeon, whereas all BC dungeons still give satchels.- regarding the dungeon quests, "tend to die out once you hit Outlands" isn't entirely true - while they no longer appear at the start of the dungeon, there's still numerous dungeon quests found while doing the quests in the appropriate zone. Blizz only revamped Azeroth and its quests, making dungeon quests easier obtainable for levelling toons, but Outland remained the same with its "do x quests before we send you in there".- in the buffs bit about Brewfest Enthusiast, Mekkatorque and Vol'jin "grant everyone with this buff".. you might want to correct that. ;)- in the BoA bit, the first line states "mailed to any of your tons".- in the BoA bit, "wands and fast agility daggers still prove elusive" - doesn't the same goes for relics, or have I completely overlooked the part where they are mentioned?- in the RAF bit, "as long as they are within 100 yards and 3 levels of each other" - they also have to be in the same party for the triple xp to work.- in the rested bit, "make sure to hearth back to an inn before logging out" - rested bonus is also gained within capital city boundaries, so while in places like SW or Org it's not necessary to step inside an inn.- in the socket bit, you state that BoA heirlooms have made engineering goggles "somewhat obsolete" - with respect, I beg to differ: my lvl 62 caster goggles have been quite the improvement over my Tattered Dreadmist Mask until level 68-69. And using the comparison tool here on Wowhead, I notice that the Visage Liquification Goggles, which I intend to use at level 72, will remain superior up to and including level 80. Of course, it might be different for other classes, but I suspect that all engineering goggles are preferable over their BoA heirloom counterpart for quite a few levels and are as such definitely not even remotely obsolete. :)- I missed the armour kits in the enhancement bit.. you briefly touched upon them in the legs section, but I think they deserve a mention of their own as they're a really cheap way to get some extra armour/stamina for several slots and worth the silver for that extra bit of survivability.
Older comments--Rare mobs and their additional experience is found at the end of the 'killing mobs' section.Green quests: I guess it's your call really. If you're going to fly around the zone a lot for straggler quests, and then get low-level items, I don't think it's worth it. If the quests just turned green and there's a cluster of quests nearby, go for it.Thanks for the suggestions, Mael :) I've added most of them into the guide. I still maintain that an item which does not grant increased experience is sort-of obsolete next to one that does. You can make it for fun, which is why it is mentioned, but you are missing out on 10% xp and taking extra time to pour gold/farm materials for a BoP helm (time/effort may not be as important to some players). I have a friend who made it a point to get epic goggles for all of their 62s (and the earlier epic helms even sooner). Since the addition of heirloom hats, none of the more recent toons have bothered. I made one of my alts the Sunwell goggles, put her aside for a bit, and when I played her again, got lots of '??? why did you not wait/equip the heirloom hat?' If a player is looking for an efficient way to level, they'll want 10% xp and a helm already there. Of course, if you are looking to twink out a toon for a bracket, goggles are better, but that is beyond the scope of the guide. Arguments could be made for replacing all heirlooms with slightly better items (a tier chest from Black Temple, for example). If you are looking to mostly level by instancing, a dungeon quest that requires additional questing or zone exploration like Outlands won't be much help. They definitely exist, but are harder to find. (The original version just said that there were dungeon quests obtainable for all levels, and I got cries of 'not true! the old model dies out in Outlands, they're not just sitting there in the instance!) A person leveling the traditional way will eventually find them through a mix of questing and instancing, but pure instance levelers will not.Relics...hm. Yeah it seems Blizzard doesn't care about them at all for the bulk of the 1-60 experience save for some higher-level BoEs/instance drops/AQ. I imagine that when BoAs were first implemented, relics had unique spell enhancements, so it was too much of a headache to come up with BoA versions. Now that relics have been changed to stat boosts, maybe there will be some. Blizz does a pretty good job of putting in quest and crafted relics at higher levels, and with the 365, 378, and upgraded 391 relics available from the Molten Front/Firelands, I think we can see better ilvl distribution for relics in the future. But yeah, as of right now, no real way to get one as a low-level.
If you are worried about stats, just wear your regular gear, but when you turn in quests put the BoA stuff back on.
Most impressive guide, perculia - I'll be sure to utilize this the next time (whenever that may be) I decide to level a character. Judging from how extensive this guide is, I'm sure the process will be sped up considerably =)
In the time it takes you to kill four elites rares I've gained four levels.
Awesome Guide.Just one thing under 'Quests'.Maybe add something about Fishing and Cooking Dailies. They grant experience equal to current level quests, and are fun to do first thing (because you ported back to main city for rested exp) before heading out to quest again.Cheers.

Just putting this out there:With the new perk that rare mobs give you a crap ton of XP, you can do the following at around level 50 or so.1. Travel to Blackrock Mountain.2. Find Scarshield Quartermaster.3. Kill him.4. Wait approx. 60-90 seconds.5. Repeat steps 3-4.6. Enjoy.
Fishing and cooking dailies is something to definitely mention.I wrote the guide after a lot of my friends had either leveled in strange ways or were debating making another alt. I'm glad others are finding it useful!
I know that i'm really late, but for anyone using this guide - 4.3 will have Outland and Northrend dungeon quests starting inside of them. :)
at lvl 50 i was in brd killing the 49 rare loot over 4g and the 51 elite possible tailoring loot soulbound 1 after the other major exp plus exp off mobs in brd aswell as doing randoms
