I've purchase the Epic edition, though for the other goodies. Not much interested in the 3-days early access or the beta access.
Such liars.Nobody wants this. And this is coming from someone who has bought it. Do yourself a massive favour and dont get your new expansion off to a bad start. Walk back the decision and throw in a cosmetic or something. You will do yourself a big favour.Nobody is stopping you from being greedy. The reason you have done this is you know people care about the initial week playing with their friends so you capitalise on the fomo. Its disgusting. We as a community need to keep the momentum going to get this reverted.
Miserable decision to ruin the launch day experience. We should blame Blizzard and the whales who eat this stuff up.
Early acces will not. Beta acces will. Imagine the difference in m+ when you have 6 month to train the runs before the release ;)
Nobody really thinks that in three days you can get an advantage which holds up long-term. People (including me) think that paying more for early access is a @#$% move and the game industry should stop it.It bothers me even so because I WANT the collector's edition (if it ever comes out), but it bothers me because it will signal Blizzard that I love this idea and happy to pay for it.
"Blizzard added early access to help players with less time, who might fall behind during the initial launch week of an expansion and miss out on dungeons with their friends."Destiny 2 said the same thing when they added the option to pay cash to complete the Season Pass immediately...like why would Blizzard charge this specific group MORE money to play the game? It doesn't make sense except when you realize it's essentially required for most of the player base now. That's alongside the fact that the lower tiers no longer give game time and give less tenders. So, is it to punish less financially comfortable gamers? Or to make the barrier to entry for a new player into wow even higher? Or just to nickel and dime a shrinking playerbase by dangling early player power? Any case it's predatory af.
Whether or not the early access is a good idea, whether or not it is good for the game or players, I absolutely hate it because of the way it's being sold. They're using FOMO to push people to buy the epic edition, even if those people don't care about the collectables that come with it. I would rather see early access be it's own product charged at $10 a pop than being locked behind the most expensive game option. While it may look like "even more value being added to the epic edition!" it's value of different types to different people. I know a lot of raiders and progression focused player simply don't care about collectibles, but who will begrudgingly pay for the epic edition anyway because they do care about early access (whether or not there is a tangible power advantage) The only players this actually works out for are those who planned to buy epic anyway, regardless of what it actually included. If they actually cared about the player's experience and accommodating more players (rather than extracting as many $$ as possible from each wallet), they would simply start the season a week later, and give everyone an extra week in that early leveling/exploration stage.
So not only will this be garbage for those who can't afford to pay extra, it will also be garbage for those who do, because there will be literally nothing to do since they'd rather sell their mother for a quick buck rather than risk making something actually decent that might earn slightly less but generate some good will and more revenue down the line.
"early access won't give long term advantage"by the time TWW releases for everyone, players will already be max level and have high tier gear.sadly this is the response Blizzard got from Diablo 4 EA, they saw it sold pretty well so they are deciding to do it with WoW.EDIT: it's pretty funny that even after this 3 day EA, when it's over everything will still crash and have long loading times because Blizz cannot simply prepare for a large influx of players.
It's near double the price for the convenience of playing during the weekend instead of 4 straight workdays. We all see what this is.
Can anyone help me to understand why this is not possible for everyone? Why does this have to be locked behind a paywall?
Oh gosh all those comments...Guys if you don't want to spend money for something just don't buy it, is useless to complain about everything, just start to make more money if you can't afford something that you wish that much. Also this is a great idea because all the lag of the launch day, in this way the split will make the game better for everybody. But then why can't you simply be happy for those players who perhaps have a hard job that takes up a lot of their time so that in this way they can better manage the leveling phase?
You killed release day! Who cares about gear?
