Hmm, adding an 18 slot bag in this day and age seems weird... it's a long shot, but could this be related to a system increasing your basic backpack's size?

These are bought from various supplies vendors around the Broken Isles. They cost 200g.

I always gave vanilla ^&*! for having 12 slot bags for 10g.

But somehow this exists, who thought that anyone would pay 200g for an 18 slot bag?

This appears to be the first bag in the game larger than 16 slots which DOESN'T SOULBIND. This means when you're done using it, you can mail it to an alt or sell it on the auction house.

The other day, I sent a lowby Alliance alt to New Dalaran just to buy a few of these (on a server that my high level characters were not on). Jenny McCree sold them for 170G. Yet, there was no Horde vendor in New Dalaran. All the Horde vendors still have them for 200G. What is up with that?

Went to do a World Quest Razing Hel. Ku'ku just inside entrance to the right is selling this bag for 160 gold. Possibly my exalted reputation with the The Kalu'ak is making it cheaper.

blizzard has been making stealth changes to the 18-slot bag explorer's prior to patch 9.0.5 and on the patch

prior to patch stealth changes
- alot of vendors that where less than 200g are now 200G
- for a low level players the bags were changed to show dark red, flagged as unusable (prior to patch) yet useable

after patch 9.0.5
- the bags at some vendors are flagged requires level 20, and at others requires level 45

example:

Riala the Hearthwatcher along with other 200g vendors thru out legion show requiring level 20

Yasmina Nerossa bag is at 160g shows red for a low level requiring level 45

these type changes were also in BFA content vendors selling these bags. this makes no overall sense, players as low as level 10....

1. WOD, can make garrisons and start setting up to make 30 slot bags
2. Legion start farming mats to make 24 slot bags at level 1 tailoring
3. equip 30-32 slot bags with no issues

WOW shadowlands still needs alot of work, it befuddles me that someone at blizzard is worried about the prices of a 18 slot vendor bag, along with what level players can equip them, doing dart board changes. why should i care? why should there be such changes being made? all my players have 30 slot bags, i would like to see blizzard focused more on classes, specs, and content, not a bag from 4+ years ago

As of patch 10.01, these bags are available to buy and use from level 1, I have many on low level alts. Also, many of the vendors are affected by Rep discounts, so the higher your rep with that faction, the better your discount will be. Honorable usually drops it to 180g on most vendors. Neutral will keep the bags at the full price of 200g.

BUT! Wildercloth Bag 32 Slot Bag are averaging around 7g on the AH as of this post, so it makes more sense to buy them instead. These bags are only good for F2P accounts, since the AH isn't accessible.
