i take mining and JC because the prismatic gems we get are just divine for any occasion. However, herbalism and Alch are pretty good

If you do have enchanting and JC when whoza, you gain a lot However you would need around 6k to level it, or an alt with Mining

I have Tailoring as Discipline.
The cloak enchants are nice and it's certainly is nifty to keep your pants enchanted for almost no cost.
I currently use the Spellweave Robe and actually prefer it over either T7 robe. It allows you to go for more Crit on other gear and still have plenty of Haste plus a ton of spellpower.
I've just finished making the Ebonweave items for my shadow set and right now I'm seriously considering dropping it.
Tailoring is really nice while leveling if you can keep up with it to always have available gear, but after you've crafted the epics there's little reason to keep it.
As for me, once I make myself a couple of leg enchants I can put in my bank, I'll probably drop it and go for a money maker.

If only...
The tailor-only
leg enchants
are not only bop, but you can't store them. You embroider them directly on your pants. Works like an enchant before they gave us scrolls; you couldn't store an enchant for later application, you had to apply it directly.
but after you've crafted the epics there's little reason to keep
Those epics are boe anyway. Tip one of the silly people (like me) who haven't dropped tailoring like a hot potato. Thank them for being foolish with a shiny 50g coin. And something to
cheer them up
, or to
drown their sorrows
.
Disc Priest has Tailoring 292, Enchanting 270 but I am really hating leveling up both.
You're still early enough in the prof-leveling game that you can switch fairly easily. Leveling just stinks on any profession, though some are of course worse than others. But don't feel like you've invested so much that you can't switch, especially if you have the gold to support it (anywhere from 3-6k for a full power-level).
If I had to start over, I'd pick JC/enchanting without a second thought. JC is (at the moment anyway) crazy imba because it allows you to bypass any meta gem requirements. (
For
example
...blue gems ftl.) Unfortunately my tailoring is 445, and though I have the money to switch to JC I just don't have the will or the desire to spend the time doing it.
The good news is that with ez-mode raiding, the min-maxing that we used to do in BC is no longer strictly needed. So having one awesome prof (enchanting) and one blaaah prof (tailoring) won't mean you'll get booted from raids or anything.
TL;DR (sorry, I'm feeling very long-winded today) -- level JC if you have the money and want the best benefits at the moment. Otherwise keep tailoring, which is bad but not
that
bad.

The Tailor-made enchants that require a Frozen Orb are not bound and you can buy them in the AH.
Brilliant Spellthread
for example. Currently they're the only money makers Tailors have right now, and frankly I'm not impressed.
I plan to save up those before making the switch.
And next time, do your homework first before drawing conclusions.

Ease up! I intended no disrespect. My response was based on your original comment --
As for me, once I make myself a couple of leg enchants I can put in my bank, I'll probably drop it and go for a money maker.
It sounded like you wanted to bank them for your own future use, not for selling. Because, as you said, they're not exactly huge moneymakers; not bad, but not particularly good either. And of course, the ones you can pre-make don't have tailor-only benefits.

Right and right. They are the only money makers tailors having for being the only caster leg enchant.
I planned to make one or two for myself before dropping tailoring so when the day came that I switched pants I could promptly enchant them.
My hobbies also include wine, women, and song.
