I'm a level 42 tauren warrior and have taken the Arms - Twohander approach to DPS PvP but there is mixed opinions, some say DPS warriors suck compared to other classes in PvP, and others say they're amazing..what should I really be using a warrior for?

Anyways, an Arms warrior is quite dependent on burst damage, due to the long swing time. Since it's so slow, you might have the trouble of an opponent dodging your attacks by LEAVING YOUR RANGE (I don't know if this is true, but since you have to make every attack count, I think it's worth considering.
I found this piece rather interesting. I actually do the opposite, although this may be tricky for some. You'll need a swing timer, first and foremost, so you know when your next swing will be. Using a swing timer will enable you to move towards/away from your opponent between your swings, timing it so that you are out of range from their attacks for a few seconds, but making sure that you are always in range to hit them when your next auto attack comes.
This is very tricky, but it's helped me quite a bit in PvP. Of course, this only applies towards melee opponents, and will be much harder to do if you are slowed/snared.

Arms Warriors are great in PvP, due to MS and burst damage. Fury isn't as good, as it has more consistent damage. Thats probably what they mean when they say dps Warriors suck too, as Fury is the dps tree (Arms being PvP).

Pose a simple question: How can a
DPS
warrior possibly suck at
PVP
?
The answer is semantic;
damage per second
is what makes PVP as we know it.
The real topic of discussion should be why you're reading such garbage material from people who continually complain about their problems in public forums, yet do little to actually find a solution or alternative method, but I digress.
Having said that, warriors are the top-notch choice for end-game PVP scenarios.
I think you would do well to read some of the following links about talent builds & how to utilize them while leveling:

Be sure to check the stickies for reference information concerning any other questions you may have (I hear they're useful, hehe).

Not all rogues can stun lock effectively & to say one sucks without any knowledge of the situation is ignorant.
Without going into detail, menace22, your statements are very subjective & would have better served as questions as to how it was accomplished rather than condescending remarks.
It would be reasonable to say it takes less than 10-15 seconds to swing 5 times against a target...cut in half by Sword spec.
