There's a random chest piece as well that gives 10% exp. It might be PvP (I can't remember) but it really doesn't matter.
I leveled with the cloth shoulders and chest, one of which was PvP, as ret from 1-80 with no problems at all. Once I had DS/CS/SoComm I could pull three or four, plough through them, insta-FoL, and keep going as fast as anyone. I also usually topped the meters in normals, even with +spirit items.
If there were super cheap heirlooms that had 10% exp, 0 armor, and 0 stats, I'd still take those. 10%-20%(-25% if you're one of those crazies who actually likes fishing) exp >>> all. If you plan on leveling lots of alts, pick up the cloth ones to save emblems.
Edit: Oh ha, this was a mini-necro and I didn't even notice. Well, only a week old, so hardly necroing at all.

The random chest is the one that goes with he shoulder, the polished breastplate of valor. IIRC the only PvP heirlooms are weapons and shoulders (as I believe the trinkets are emblem).

I would lvl prot or holy, since if your using the LFD tool, you are going to get groups a lot faster. This will keep your gear up to date and make lvling a breeze. It goes by faster in my experience than questing.

Rolled a pally first and kind of forgot about him as I kill everything as a hunter. Going to get these boa's / chants for him and give him a go. Thanks for the advice above.
Now, how do you play a pally? I'm thinking of going Prot the whole way...
