Viscous Hammer
. Good luck getting it tho, as it's a random world drop. In general all 2h maces / staffs "of the Monkey" or "of the Tiger" are good. And if you want
something to dream about...

Here's the problem. At 70, the best feral weapon type is staff. By far. In fact, there is a whole line of staves designed for the druid, with huge ap bonuses while shapeshifted, and great strength/agility/stam bonuses. Earthwarden is ok, but there are better staves. And if you did not know, it is extremely difficult to level a druids weapon skill. Go with a staff now, and let your weapon skill naturally increase while you level. Here's how it works. As feral, your weapon skill increases 5 every time you level. If you use it. With everyone else, it is based on hits. So if you fall behind on weapon skill as a feral druid, ie. use a different type for 20 levels, in order to level the original weapon type's skill, you will have to do it manually by hitting things...in caster form. Which is a huge pain in the butt.
I have absolutely no clue what you're on about. Why would you care about your skill level with a weapon since a feral will never actually hit with their weapon??

but your staff/hammer skills mean nothing when in feral forms as far as being able to hit mobs. the only time it makes a difference is moonkin form when trying to hit to gain mana back

In caster form, weapon skill applies just as any other class.
In feral form (cat, bear), weapon skill DOES NOT APPLY. But, you do have Feral Weapon Skill, which is the "invisible" weapon skill you have, and it will always be 5 times your level (350 at level 70, unless buffs are equipped).
Weapon Skill doesn't matter, at all. I have fun by increasing my weapon-skill whenever I'm not doing anything by killing rats and such. "woot, 296!".

There are a lot of good feral druid weapons for low levels, you just have to be willing to spend some time getting them. Ask yourself this question: "would I rather level quickly and get weapons as they come, or spend more time getting items to help me level". If you have a high level friend to run you through instances where you can get some of these items you'll be fine running through the same instance a few times before you continue leveling.
Know a few things first: Chance On Hit: bonuses do not work in your forms. Stick with On Equip: bonuses and +stats. Agility/Str/Stam will be the best.
Keeping that in mind, here are a few of the neat little gems you can get as you level up.
Viscous Hammer
- Already mentioned, this is a solid lvl 30 weapon. Scan the auction house for one.
Loksey's Training Stick
- Drops from the houndmaster in SM Library. Was buffed in the 2.3 patch so the +AP is at all times, not just when fighting beasts.
The Pacifier
- Drops from a rare elite in Alterac, I tried unsuccessfully to get this for a long time. 36 feral AP and 70 hp along with decent DPS.
Ironshot Bludgeon
- Drops from Ironaya in Uldaman, I ran the instance twice before it dropped for me. Stat values were switched in patch 2.3 to make this a more obvious druid weapon. I have a 39 twink Druid that uses this and it's a very nice weapon.
Morgraine's Might
- You guessed it, drops from Morgraine in SM Cathedral. Changed to not suck in patch 2.3 becuase it formerly had 17 stamina and 16 spirit. 16 hit rating is worth 2% all the way to lvl 50.
Warden Staff
- The old friend of many lvl 60 druids. The stats aren't so great for grinding out mobs in kitty form but it does have a high DPS, but it is huge for bear form. This will last your bear tank needs until outlands (or Dire Maul Tribute runs, if groups for that still run).
The Rockpounder
- An excellent item for any level 40 druid (used to require lvl 43). You'll have to get a group to kill Archaedas, your high level friend and you won't be able to open the door to get to him without some help.
Blanchard's Stout
- A very nice mace for a Druid, should last you until the mid 50s.

The ogre that drops the pacifier is no longer elite.
