Awesome DK Macros

Been reading the forums without having beta for a while now, and now that I finally have been able to play some I've developed some macro's that others might find very helpful. It makes DK a lot simpler for me. I'm unholy specced btw. I don't have the code but these are pretty simple, if you've ever set up a macro before you will know what to do. I really tried to make use of any abilities that didn't activate the global cooldown.
Plague strike: I modified this to cast PS, then use both of my AP enhancing trinkets (you should have two of them that increase AP by 200), then cast rune strike.
Blood Strike and Scourge Strike: I modified both of these to cast BS or SS respectively, then cast rune strike. Adding rune strike to all my instant melee attacks makes it so I don't have to watch for the ability to become available, or pay attention to parries and dodges etc. I find this incredibly helpful.
Death Strike: I Modified this to cast Death Strike, then Blood tap, then Death Strike again. I wish I could make it blood tap only if DS was unavailable, but I'm not sure how. I find that DS is the only ability I use blood tap for, and its an ability I use a lot, so this helps me use it more often.
The reason I always cast the original spell first (PS, BS, SS, or DS) is because doing so makes the button act the same way as that spell. For example: for DS, if I had cast blood tap first, the button would be showing the cool down for blood tap instead of DS, and you obviously want to see the cooldown for DS on your DS button. I don't want it to look like I can't do DS when I really can, just because blood tap is still on cool down.
Please use this thread to comment on these macros or post some of your own.

ok, couple of neat things to help you out:
first of all, you CAN have the button show an ability you define. when you set up the macro, select the "?" icon as I'm sure you are already doing. for the first two lines of the macro, use this:
#show
#showtooltip
then you can put the abilities in any order like so:
/cast Blood Tap
/cast
and it will cast blood tap when available and then whatever else if not available. also as you are probably aware if the first ability in the list is not available it will go on to the second. if the first ability does not trigger the global cooldown they will BOTH trigger at the same time.
cheers,
~Neth

I use:
#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=nocombat Icy Touch(Rank 2), Plague Strike(Rank 3), Blood Strike(Rank 3), Blood Strike(Rank 3), Scourge Strike(Rank 1), Unholy Blight(Rank 1),
which casts all the stuff i would usually cast, just by pressing one button. :) Of course, you have to make sure you have the highest ranks listed and you can change the order however you like.
I also use:
/cast Death Coil
which simply casts Death Coil on my Ghoul without having to target him.
I found these macros on this website:

You guys have any other cool ones?
P.S. Anyone else having problems with macros deleting upon logout?

Or you can just leave out the (Rank ...) part and it will cast your highest rank of the spell. Then you don't need to edit every time you learn a new rank.
beat me to it... don't include ranks anymore. there is no need. they have done away with down ranking spells anyways and you will only be able to cast your most powerful version...

This happens if you don't properly log out of the game. Any settings changes you make including placement of spells on bars, keybindings, macros, graphics settings are saved when you successfully log out of the game. If you alt-tab out and close the window or whatever, then you will lose everything you changed in the last session.

I log out properly every time and it still deletes the macros... I even made my WTF folder not "read only" lol
btw thanks for the info on the ranks. That's gonna make it a lot easier :)

Make sure the account under which you play (your account on your local computer) has the rights to write to the folder where the game is installed. If you play the game under a user account, then the owner of the folder changed when you installed the expansion (you had to install it as administrator) and now you can't write to that folder anymore. Give your user account the writting priviliges to that folder (and all subdirectories) and the changes should start getting saved again.

One that i found fun (though not particularly useful lol) was this:
/cast Death Grip
/y GET OVER HERE!
just cuz death grip reminded me of that one guy from mortal combat...just thought id share =)
Also, @Phuntard: Why the empty set of brackets in the first macro? Just thought i'd ask out of curiosity

And the version that WON'T *!@# off everyone around you:
#showtooltip
/cast Death Grip
/script PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\HeadlessHorseman\\Horseman_Beckon_01.wav")
This plays the Headless Horseman's "Get over here, you idiot!" clip.

And for unholy, combine Death Grip and Gnaw to stun them. Turn off Leap with this macro (so the pet doesn't blow it's GCD/energy on Leap and not cast Gnaw):
#showtooltip
/cast Death Grip
/script UIErrorsFrame:UnregisterEvent("UI_ERROR_MESSAGE")
/cast Gnaw
/script UIErrorsFrame:RegisterEvent("UI_ERROR_MESSAGE")
Use this one so it automatically turns off leap:
#showtooltip
/petautocastoff Leap
/cast Death Grip
/script UIErrorsFrame:UnregisterEvent("UI_ERROR_MESSAGE")
/cast Gnaw
/script UIErrorsFrame:RegisterEvent("UI_ERROR_MESSAGE")
/petautocaston Leap
And btw, i use this one for my normal Death Grip button
#showtooltip Death grip
/petautocastoff Leap
/cast death grip
/petautocaston Leap
/script PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Creature\\HeadlessHorseman\\Horseman_Beckon_01.wav")
