Make a macro in game with this:
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("Need 102.4 combined avoidance. Currently at:",0.8,0.8,1)
/script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage(GetDodgeChance()+GetBlockChance() + GetParryChance() +5+(GetCombatRatingBonus(CR_DEFENSE_SKILL) + 20)*0.04,1,0.5,0)
END
Just copy and paste it.

That macro includes block chance, which isn't avoidance.
Use the tankpoints addon instead, it gives you each percentage for the level of enemy you select (default 73).

Like I said before, the tankpoints addon can make these calculations for you and against whatever level of mob you choose. I much prefer it over a macro (running out of macro slots anyway).

any far you get u'll never need more. from Kara to BT.
wait, what? since you can get that much naked, it appears you are saying avoidance is not useful...i disagree :)
block does change the combat table, but it does not help you AVOID an attack (hence the term avoidance). mitigating a couple hundred damage is not the same as avoiding damage completely.
a macro that includes block is useful for a pally tank trying to reach uncrushability, but is not of much use to a warrior.

I dont understand why you want to know avoidance without block, because avoidance as use to make you uncrushable and the only way to succeed is Shield block. The total avoidance you need is 102.4
A naked prot warrior holding a shield is immune to crushing blows when the shield block ability is up, and warriors almost never have anything to gain from stacking their way to passive crushing immunity.
Avoidance is for, like, avoiding those big hits that hurt. And for protecting your shield block charges.

This is why Ciderhelm needs to tone down the effective health rhetoric, because while he certain *gets* what he is saying, those that quote him often fail to grasp key concepts such as preservation of shield block, and fail to recognize the fact that while he doesn't specifically state it the entire theory of effective health hinges on the assumption that you have enough avoidance to minimize possible SB down-time, which is usually obtained by taking avoidance heavy pieces and gemming them for stamina.
