I am convinced that it will be quite similar. Just like at TBC launch, a few items from late raid instances may still be useful, but the vast majority of level 70 epics will be superseded by blues if not greens.

The old world instances aren't obsolete, per se. They're still a great way to waste your time. =P
As for when WotLK comes out... the current raid zone will hardly be run for anything other than fun and then (down the road) nostalgia.
My guild, like we did with Naxx at the release of TBC, will continue running BT/SP until we begin the level 80 raids. This way we don't get lazy/lose our abilities to operate in raid settings.
As for farming BT/SP for the legendaries: good luck there. I've been farming BT since last August and have only seen the warglaives drop a total of three times. It's such a crap drop rate.
I would LOVE to take a couple of lvl 70 buddies back to the blasted lands, and destroy that dang dragon that ganked me enough times there prior to heading to Outland...;)

I don't think Blizzard will do something quite
that
dumb again. Otherwise, WotLK may really be the death of WoW.
Also, things like the Legendary bow from SP will still be superior to lvl 80 beginner epics, at least, because of its uber low/high end damage.
Why would a new expansion mean the death of WoW? It's not as if they aren't adding a ton of new content to explore or anything...
Personally, I think the BC raids will continue to be played for as long as the bosses drop

. The reason the majority of players don't run the 60 raids anymore is because there's no material reason to go, but so long as there are badge vendors, and raid bosses drop badges, expect the Outland raids to be popular.
