How to kill a mistweaver monk as rogue

Every time I face one of these in arena, 2s or 3s, we always have an almost impossible time killing them. Stuns aren't viable, and their mobility is insane. The only thing that works 'ok' is glyphing into a 4 second garrote. Anyone have any strategies for taking this class down?

as far as i can tell that's just a bad match up, they have cds that realy counter rogues hard. i play a rogue myself and find monks to have a supreme advantage vs a rogue. they will often dodge/parry your very much needed autoatacks and can generally out your cc you with defensive cd's and disarm and stun you to disrupt your burst damage. the best advise is to hang back and not drop everything on them all at once, they get out real fast and can re-counter you with equal force and cc. AND BE KNOWLEDGEABLE about your opponent. count your foes cc's to determine they style, particularly in the lvl 60 talent tier, i find that to be an important thing how a monk does his cc's, if he ring of piece you know hes not gonna aoe stun or range stun your teammate. so keep a defensive cd to get out and survive the downtime. try to avoid ANYTIME the xuen tiger hits the field. as its constant hard hitting dmg that makes you pay for any time you dont spend on the move. as a rule try to make sure you get a full uptime on them cuz they will outlast you in the longrun and have a much beter active healing factor. so make sure they waste a good cd or two b4 you go in fully committed. after that they are like any other melee class except they think they can outrun you if they need to backout real fast (lol yeah right, burst of speed FTW). just keep up the autoatack and get that stun time in so you can get a hold of him and not let go. in summery be cautious cuz you cant use the same tactic on all monks or your gonna burn for it.

Are you guys talking 1v1 MW Monk and Rogue? With what does the Monk hit the Rogue that much that the Rogue eventually loses? The Jade lightning? Seriously, I want to see that video!

Yea no one can solo a decent healer or they would be pointless. But if you're doing arenas were healing is nerfed a bit and the healer isn't completely focused on healing himself a good sub rogue or an assassination rogue can pressure a mistweaver to oom if you roll with Burst of Speed which makes rogues almost impossible to shake 1v1. If you're rolling sub for 2s i would suggest switching to assassination because i think they are a bit stronger for it and rely more on pure dps and not stunlocking like a sub rogue so you can put out high damage without having to stun them. Trust me the sustained dps of assassination is a lot higher than sub when bursts and stuns are on CD.

almost impossible to shake 1v1.
Jet Turbine Kick and Nitroroll have something to say about that.

I normally run a warrior in 2s with a disc priest partner. I have found the only way to kill a MW is to get him away from his statue, purge him down and get a long silence on him. Do that, and he drops like a sack of potatoes.

I play enhance shaman so I have the benefit of being able to purge their buffs and snare them with frost shock, in addition dishing out killer damage. When I'm running 2s or 3s and encounter MW monk, either I or a teammate takes out the jade statue right after they drop it. It's on a 30 sec CD so that's the kill window. With the statue up, it basically doubles their healing so ignoring it and hoping you'll burst them down is a foolish plan.
As far as beating them once the statue is gone, it's mainly a matter of cornering them CD-wise. MW will typically run away from whoever is attacking, so when they do, switch to their teammate instead of chasing them. At the same time, move further away so they can't heal from the other side of the arena. Try to LoS them which forces them to blow their mobility CDs to come back into healing range (either that, or they let their teammate die). I think they get 2-3 charges of chi torpedo, each with a 15 sec CD...whatever it is, it's short so you have to be fast.
At that point, you can either CC the MW and try to finish their teammate, or swap to the MW. Obviously you don't want to blow your DPS wad early in the match until you have a chance to gauge how well the MW plays. Some of them are really bad.
The key to dropping them is putting enough pressure on them without using big DPS CDs to get them to use their bubble, while timing it so that you unload your DPS after they bubble and while their statue and mobility are on CD.
Lastly, stunning them may not be viable as a way of damaging them, but you can use your stuns as cast interrupts.
