Is it just me or is the Shaman fight the worse in LFR? I have tried it twice with 2 different toons and have gotten a 5 stack of determination on both toons and the raid group still couldn't down the boss past 30%.
Is it my luck that I'm getting this groups? Or Should I just stop even trying to gear some of my alts and just level a few that I haven't gotten to 90 yet?

you're just in bad groups for this encounter.
first week when i did it took us 3 stacks too down it, 2nd week we 1shot it.
most people had gotten a basic idea about it by then and roughly knew what to do and what to dodge.
making ir go down faster. ofcourse teams mostly build up of people who were carried in the week before remain and they keep struggling on these kind of fights.
might take a few weeks before it becomes trivial enough everyone can do it in a 1shot, just like it took some time before durumu was done within 1 attempt on LFR.

unfortunately for you, you have been in bad groups like most of what lfr is full of now. for every 1 decent player in there theres 5 bad ones. i only lfr for valor now as flex is easier and you can pick your group not get thrown in with a load of people that think zerging is the best tactic

Getting people that think anything or want to do any strategy in lfr is already a good one. From my experience people in lfr dont think, dont look on chat (unless they are typing to cr them), dont know what to do, have no clue how to play their chars/roles, dont care about anything else than loot.
Shamans have a lot of "move out of crap or die" mechanics and require good tank positioning. Even if you get a good pair of tanks half of baddies die on first bad thing and than there is waste of time cause of soft enrage. Its just like sha of pride, where you dont need any good tanks, just one who can keep aggro and survive while standing in one place.

I have been having the same problem. I don't have a lot of time during the week so when I do LFR, I prefer a good group but lately haven't been able to get one that can go through wing 2 all the way. It is so bad, that here we are in week two in the third wing and I have to continue to it because I can't get a good group to beat the shamans. Both tanks always quit right before the shamans and everyone gives up. I know I have been having bad luck, but this is ridiculous! This stupid mechanic of having to beat everyone at least once in the wing is preventing me from even doing LFR at the moment.
I beat Nazgrim about 4 times too to top it off, very frustrating!

Both tanks always quit right before the shamans and everyone gives up.
They quit because they se the future in dark colours. Dont blame them, if they are half decent they pretty much know what the group is capable after killing two pretty straightforward bosses. This fight is very demanding for a tank (lots of movement, target bouncing, positioning/stacking bosses, dodging stuff, switching from single target to aoe etc) and there is little to no stuff you can do to prevent poeple from dying in stupid #$%^. So you are basically pulling your ass out and there is no guarantee it works. Whats worse tank is usually the first person blamed if the wipe occurs.
Those top dps that tell you to stack bosses and get offended when you tell them that its not always possible because of the fact one is a typical melee and the other one is melee/caster and they are tanked by two different people at each time and you have to run out of group when you get geyser on and face bosses proper way so the ashen wall doesnt spawn in middle of raid group. But they call you noob and nitpick that your dps is low (because apparently high dps = being right, low dps = being a nub; regardless of a gear, role or class). Asking them to q LFR in tanking role if they want to tank their way or shut up usually does the deal.
I mean i can take it, if i got time and am in the mood, but some people just want some fast loot and dont want to work hard for it, while being bashed for everyone else mistakes. Thats includes people in tanking roles because they wanted faster q.

Been trying to get the trinket from Galakras since I'm not having any trinket luck in Flex, but it's impossible to get in a Wing 2 LFR that's not sitting on Dark Shamans (or very rarely, Nazgrim), so I've just given up on even trying to queue.

EU-horde i can help tankwise, other than that i think you have slimmer chance of getting in progress run if you already landed at in progress run before and killed the bosses.

I'd probably have a good shot if I were to finish, but I don't want to spend 45-60 minutes on 2 bosses I don't need anything from, followed by a new 45 min queue.
I'm on the US servers, so thanks for the offer but alas.

As a tank, I have massive positioning issues for Dark Shaman. After getting the achievement, I have skipped Dark Shaman almost every time I do LFR Wing 2. If I start at first boss, I'll do the two and leave, and re-queue. Usually, I'll get Nazgrim, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm done with Wing 2.
If I do get Dark Shaman as first encounter, I'll usually ask for a 3rd tank. If not, I'll leave.
