At the moment I have 3 tokens for t15 tier pieces sitting in my bags ( head gloves and legs ) .
I also have bought today the 522 vp legs ( was capped and had to spend on something ) and won the 522 chest that Oon drops .
My question is :-
Is the bonus from equipping the tier pieces worth more than just going with the straight 522s and offset raid finder gloves .
This is my current setup
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/Nagrand/Sulakin/advanced
.
so basically whatever I do will break my t14 bonuses but I am assuming that even the straight 522 setup would be more DPS then the T14.

I am going to double post here because I don't want this information getting mixed with the question itself .
I just did some runs on female dwarf and was greatly surprised by the results . common to all was SV spec , cat pet , 250 latency , no additional raid buffs . gemming for socket bonus . 5 min fight length
run 1 set up as is in link above
run 2 . I changed out current chest for Oons chest and current legs for the VP ones . This resulted in a bit over 2k dps improvement . not bad
run 3. kept the Oon chest and swapped helm and legs for the tier 15 raid finder ones . This resulted in a FURTHER 2.6k ( so total 4.6 over run 1) .
Run 4. gear as run 3 but adjusted hit and expertise to near caps ( hit slightly under , exp slightly over ) . This resulted in a further 1k dps improvement .
Female dwarf also reported that the two piece t15 bonus was worth around 5.5 k dps .
So it would appear that what I have been telling my Guildies for the past couple of expansions still holds true - tier bonuses more than make up for stat differences for offset gear from same tier .
Has anyone else got similar results with their testing /therorycrafting?

"tier bonuses more than make up for stat differences for offset gear from same tier " does not hold true universally, though for dps its really should (sometimes they just miss the mark).

I was just on a same question yesterday as there wasn't any usefull think to buy with VP anymore. I am survival, and from 2-3 bosses on LFR i saw that the arrow proced by our tier 4 set bonus makes around 4% DPS, which is considerable. Make some FD tries and it showed that replacing any of the tier items (502 ilvl) with 522 VP items leads to 5-6k DPS decrease.
What I don't know is the effect of our 2 set bonus, as I don't see what the DPS of this "flying thing" which spits occasionaly is. If there is such DPS this means that set bonus is even more important.
Haven't try to replace all 502 set gear with 522 VP gear though.

Just simulated myself on Femaledwarf (ilvl 520) and got 133902.96 combined dps, for both 2 and 4 set bonuses, the results are these:
Your Steady Shot and Cobra Shot have a chance to summon a Thunderhawk to fight for you for the next 10 sec. (Battlegear of the Saurok Stalker 2pc bonus) - 5086.32 DPS
Your Arcane Shot, Multi-shot, and Aimed Shot have a chance to trigger a Lightning Arrow at the target, dealing 100% weapon damage as Nature. (Battlegear of the Saurok Stalker 4pc bonus) - 3996.05 DPS
So on a quick math, 2 set bonus is 3.8% and 4 set bonus is a 3.0% increase on dps.

Then your simulation was flawed and means nothing sorry. Enable 'best raid buffs' and 'best raid debuffs' if you want to see an accurate comparison, unless you're looking to see which set of gear is best for soloing!
It may still show wearing the tier pieces to be better, it may not, but unless you have buffs set to the same as you'd have in a raid, plus pieces reforged as they'd be and gemmed properly (which doesn't always mean for socket bonus although with most MOP gear it's right to do so) you're not going to get a proper comparison.
As an example, with the settings you used, you don't have 5% stats, which means the extra agility the higher ilvl pieces supply isn't boosted by 5% as it would be in a real raid usually.
Femaledwarf is a great site. But to get accurate figures you have to set it up accurately.
Normal raid buffs are default in female dwarf , so they were applied mate ,the no additional raid buffs that I said meant that I didn't change the default .
All gear was simmed with and without proper reforging , and yes the reason I gemmed for socket bonus was because gemming for them was the best option with those pieces of gear
