Elder Charms of Good Fortune...seemingly useless now?

My alt toon is a protpally trying to gear up to be able to do the 5.0 LFRs . No problem, I say, but when you get into the 5.0 raids, you will no longer have the ability to do those 'second chance rolls', since the Elder Charms are no longer obtainable until you reach 5.2 content on Isle of Thunder.
This is the only possible flaw I see with the currency change from Elder Charms to the Mogu Rune of Fate. While still doing 5.0 content in the progression of MoP, the 5.0 currency should still be purchasable, via exchange quest, for the 'second chance rolls' in the 5.0 raids to be effective and beneficial. Once the toon enters into the 5.2 area of MoP ,
then
should the currency conversion/change go into effect.
This may be doable in 2 ways: First, phasing could be utilized, I think...not sure how that works in the first place; Second, have
both
Elder Charms and Mogu Runes of Fate currencies available for purchase from the questgiver at Shrine of Seven Stars. The same controls of 3 coins per week can be kept in place. Maybe the Mogu Runes quest option cannot be revealed until the toon reaches the point of quest progression that will take them to Isle of Thunder
Any and all thoughts, please...
Edit: Oh geez, I meant retpally at the top of this post, forgive the stupid fingers curse..8\

Just running the
Troves of the Thunder King
solo scenario will easily net you 10+ Elder Charms which is enough to have a bonus roll on every MSV boss and the two world bosses. It's a solo scenario that is just about looting as many chests as you can within 5 minutes, while avoiding dangerous things. Gear doesn't factor in at all, meaning a fresh 90 can do just as well as someone who is in full Heroic gear.
The key needed to do this scenario has a very high drop chance from Rare spawns on the island, and with the faction tap system anyone can kill them, as there are always other people fighting them (unless you are on a completely dead server).
By the time you get 470 iLevel and are able to do HoF/ToES, you will also have no problem doing the dailies on the island, at which time you'll be getting so many Elder Charms that you'll be sitting at the cap most of the time.
Short of it taking a little longer, and having to be careful not to pull more than 1 or 2 mobs, you can do the Isle dailies even as a freshly dinged mob too.

Do the dailies on the Isle of Thunder..? You can access it as soon as you hit 90, afaik. Then you might get Elder Charms from the bag reward and also the epic key for the scenario where you loot chests and can get loads of charms.
Or do you think your character is too badly geared to do those dailies? If he's prot, it should be no problem to do some AoE pulling.

Keep in mind that the Sha of Anger and Galleon still accept elder charms for bonus rolls. Sure, you may not need the gear they drop, but they both have mounts on their loot tables as well!

Are the mounts loot? I thought they were an extra thing independent of a roll. Well darn, if they're rolled loot then I guess I'll be spending that extra coin each week too!

If its in the dungeon journal you can bonus roll it. Meaning you can't roll raid mounts (i.e. elegon, horridon, ji kun.) though you can bonus roll world boss mounts. I personally know someone who has bonus rolled the galleon mount.

I am afraid this isnt a rule.
There are certain things that are in the journal yet cannot be bonus rolled for - this includes pets and BoA weaponry from Garrosh.
Not 100% on the BoA weaponry, but pets can definitely be obtained from bonus rolls.

Does blizz have any ploans to someday make the elder charms Usefull. I am constantly deleting fortutous coffers because I am not able to carry any more of the elder charms.
I am able to convert some of my thousands of lesser charms into warforged seals ( I have no idea of what they may be be useful for) but the conversion is limited and I have no idea of how long it will take for each toon to convert a few thousand.

You can use Elder Charms to buy items to use in the Treasure Trove runs; rather then deleting them, spend spend spend.

In addition, you can also buy
Sunreaver Bounty
/
Arcane Trove
with them (15 Elder Charms a piece) that can contain reputation boosts for Shado-Pan Assault and Kirin Tor Offensive/Sunreaver Onslaught, Ritual Stones (sell for 20G each), Motes/Spirits of Harmony and Key to the Palace of Lei Shen for even more chance at loot. There's also always gold in them, so you'll always be making a profit.

You can also run the old LFRs and use your coins to roll on loot to vendor/de. It's 30+g per coin usually, or a Sha Crystal if you're an Enchanter.

Unless you are desperate for gold or absolutely love LFR, that would be a horrible way to make a very small amount of gold.
