I can't get a forum post deleted, what do I do?
Return to board index
Post by

Specifically,
this post
.
I have e-mailed wowreportedpost@blizzard.com twice over the past 5 weeks (the second after waiting and getting no reply to the first). I was told that's what I should e-mail if I just didn't want my post up anymore.
I've asked them kindly both times, but I never got a reply, and I'm getting pretty impatient about it. I know they're busy, but they always get back to people a lot faster than this. Apparently I must have e-mailed the wrong thing; that or they just refuse to take it down even at my (the author's) request.
Does anyone have any ideas with this? I'd really like the post gone, but I'm at all loss currently.
Thank you.

I suppose if you really don't want it on the boards any longer and are getting no satisfaction having it removed you could always edit it to delete the entire contents of post #1.

That isn't an option, there has to be another way.

I know how to get banned, but I don't know how to remove a highly rated stickied post other than what you've tried, although possibly submitting a battle.net ticket might move you closer in the direction you want.

Eccentric, I don't know if I'm supposed to say this here (I can't find rules stating otherwise), but I am perma-banned from WoW forums.
I HAVE ticketed this, and they told me they don't deal with forum matters.
I don't have any idea what else I could possibly do. You would think they would jump at the request to remove a post by a perma-banned user.

I wasn't trying to pry, although I suspected not being able to edit your post indicated that you couldn't access the forums. Best wishes getting the resolution you desire.

Thanks Eccen.
I was thinking there might be an alternative e-mail I could try, but I haven't found anything yet. I suppose I could always try e-mailing again, but if it didn't work before it probably won't now.
If anyone else has an idea, I would love to hear it.
Edit: I tried ticketing through the site - the first time was in-game. We'll see if this works, I guess.

Hi there,
I did some poking and could I please ask you to email
forum@blizzard.com
about this? In case that doesn't help then post back and I'll nudge a US Community Manager about it. :)

It's a helpful post to new players...why take it down?
Since you are banned, it's not like you will see it everyday unless you go lurk there.

Thank you, I will try that right now. :)

Since you are banned, it's not like you will see it everyday unless you go lurk there.
I originally posted it into general forums where there was no character limit. It got moved to where it is now, where this IS a limit. I literally can not edit it at all (even if I wasn't banned) because I'm way over the limit, and I can't do it in multiple posts because I'm banned.
If you check out the link in my signature, you'll see what it has the potential to look like. I know someone willing to do a better job than what it looks like now, and the players reading it deserve that, too. The only problem is that can't happen with my non-editable post still up, so it needs to come down.
For anyone wondering, this is the response that I got to my website ticket:
Hello,
I know you mentioned that you've emailed WOWREPORTEDPOST@BLIZZARD.COM, however this is the method that you should continue to pursue. Account and Technical Services has no control over the forums. I've listed another email below as well that you may try, however these are your only two options.
For concerns about the World of Warcraft forums:
All other inquiries:
Sincerely,

Gontier, just to keep you updated - I have still not heard anything about my forum post, and as you can see it's still alive. I realize it's only been 2 days and it's soon after a patch so I
might
still hear back from them, but I doubt it. It seems I'm getting ignored all around, except here.

It's now been over a week since this topic and my last e-mail, and over a month since I've been trying to get the stupid topic deleted.
It's very frustrating that none of the people at Blizzard will even bother
answering
my e-mails; I used to get at least that. Now I'm getting zero responses, period. I guess if you ignore something it goes away? There's literally no where else for me to turn at this point. +1 Blizz...

I don't think the fora have a large staff at all, and the staff they do have has their attention divided between the forum, twitter and fansites.

It just seems like, since I haven't been answered in a month (or a week for the other one), I'm not going to get an answer.

It took almost three months for my sticky Cataclysm thread to be removed as a sticky...
I sent two emails in total, never received a response from either but they did eventually take it down.
I guess all you can do is wait and/or forget about it.

OfLegends, do you have an email address that you can write here in the thread so I can email you? The US CM I nudged gave me his work email for you to use so it has to be taken in private.
If not then email me at Removed with some kind of proof that it's you. :)(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##Gontier##DELIM##

It's nice to know that it at least happened eventually.

I'd rather not type it into a thread, so I will e-mail you. As for the proof, I'm not sure how to go about "proving" that it's me. I guess we can handle that via e-mail though.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##Gontier##DELIM##

Thank you so much everyone.
I have been in contact with a CM who has removed the thread. :)
