Breaking roots won't save you from Deep Freeze. I've got a 90 frost mage. Deep Freeze can also be triggered by the Fingers of Frost effect, meaning you don't even need to be rooted. Burst of Speed isn't even that good. Burst of Speed has now been made into a talent to help you quest faster or move around fast while stealthed, its not that great for combat.

You got rooted -> trinket it out.
You blow your trinket that willingly? If you're worrying about a mage, trinketing the Deep Freeze is a lot more important. In general, the trinket is better used almost anywhere else. Don't forget you also have CloS, Vanish, and now double Vanish.
With Prep being baselined, it was inevitable that BoS got its root-breaking removed. 4 consecutive root breaks (trink -> CloS -> Vanish -> Vanish) is something only druids should be able to do. We also have decent control to turn the situation to our advantage.
Yes, root-breaking was nice. But it's not necessary. You have a larger toolkit than just your immediately obvious abilities. Rooted? Don't just reactively hit your anti-root ability; use a tool more appropriate to the situation. Shuriken -> Deadly comes to mind in many situations to effectively shut down your opponent while you regain your mobility.
Making us use a wider toolkit makes the class more interesting a fun. A lot of people rolled rogue when it was easy
because
it was easy. Not every rogue wants this, and the developers definitely don't. Trickly and clever play is the endgoal for many of us.

And you claim that you know what you're talking about, when all I can see is senseless whining and no cognitive grasp of subject matter.

Correction to SniffetySnif... BoS removes (most) slows.
@Tush, You have multiple things you can do defensively to soak damage if rooted, read your abilities and use them. Don't be bad.

this is quite the opposite that i have seen, BoS is really strong rite now, finally a class that CAN ( not necessarily need to) compete with other classes that seem to come off more speedy. dks and pallys ( don't get me started on monks )have always been quite speedy and now rogues got something to stay in melee insted of just useing it to break roots. witch BTW i think is lame, this talent is for those rogues who don't wanna be left behind while stealth or enjoy having more time in combat and less time positioning one self for a gank. rogues BoS change in my humble oppinion the best idea for rogues in a long time. a lot of people think they are a fast class when they real are kinda slow by comparison to other classes. a sprint on a cool down was all we had( ontop of being really slow if you wanna use stealth) and now we have another option instead of being that slow guy that can only engage people when they alone or week. buy allowing us the CHOICE to rely on our own speed instead of cc's/stuns to keep us in the melee we can now play a more aggressive roll instead of the passe hit and run of old. in short i ABSOLUTELY LOVE the new changes to BoS, allowing us to use it in a more active way instead of purely using it to counter roots and slows gives me a warm feeling, i simply love cutting across the field and engaging in the fight more and more. i feel like i participate more and have a more confidant and useful class to bring to the game. it rely brightens my time as a rogue. and that i hope blizz and everyone feels the love i bring cuz they need to know that we ( I ) beleve they did something rite and need to keep on this track without breaking the system and know that this is a good direction to go in.

Best time to cos is when they burst, so when do they burst? when you are not hitting on them and not able to int them, when is that? when you're kited far away and possibly stunned. so learn the game, learn your abilities and learn about other's.
stop being bad.

Ret.
Case in point.
Blessing of Freedom
That's about 6 root breaks from emancipate followed by 6 seconds of immunityx2 uses.
By then i'd say DR would make you unslowable anyway.
