I immediately opened a ticket with blizzard explaining what had happened, how it was a misunderstanding and tried to clear my name. I've been playing this game for over three years now on this single account. I've never once had a suspension/ban. I'm really just wondering if there is someone I can contact via e-mail or phone call so that I can sort this whole situation out.
I'm afraid there's no phone support for the account administration team so it has to be dealt with through tickets.

i have read about tons of people calling blizzard support too get these sort of things sorted.
so that should be an possibilty.
A few years back when I got hacked, the hacker managed to get my account banned within 5 minutes of the theft. After I recovered control of my account I had to deal with a separate department to unban the account and they dealt with me only via email.

Hi Fallen, please be sure to
submit the ticket
requesting a review by our Account Administration team, we'll do our best to have this looked at as soon as possible, once the ticket has been submitted.

That is the magic phone number for Blizzard that is buried so deep in the forums it took me 45 minutes to find it. Store it in your phone, write it down, memorize it. Their ticket system takes forever to get anything resolved and the IM System has its ups and downs.
Personally, I like to talk to a real life person.

When you are in the process of submitting a ticket and select the option saying you've been banned and wish to appeal, only the submit a ticket option will be available, and there's a reason for that.Lower traffic servers tend to have quicker response times. Try opening a trial account on a very low-pop server and, if it's not in the afternoon or something, you could get a response in less than 10 minutes. Even if it's just to redirect you a few times, that's pretty quick! If you're online when they are they sometimes even open a chat with you.
There aren't any server specific Game Masters and they all pull tickets from the same list, so creating a ticket on a low populated server will not make you receive an answer faster. Certain tickets do get answered faster than others depending on the issue and priority, though.

The exact same thing, but different location, happened to a mage in my guild. She lost a few days but what she did was submit a ticket via battlenet, not in game (via a different account or friend) and also asked that once found innocent if they could expunged her name. She asked that because when she called (she got no where) the service rep said she had to request her record to be expunged because something like this isn't a perma-ban offence (normally it's a few days to a week ban) but it does leave a record against your account and if it happens a second time it's perma-ban time regardless if it was a mistake the second time.
So please don't freak, it happens, submit a ticket, explain to account admin the situation and ask if found innocent if they could strike the record against your account because it was a honest mistake.
They're not evil nor will they turn their backs on innocent parties. Something like this is just a umbrella protection to safe guard against botters and unfortunately, at times, innocent parties fall victim. Blizz understand that and that's why they will hear you (appeal) out if you reach them via a ticket.
To appeal (if you haven't done this already)
Click
scroll down to How do I contact Account Administration?
Account Administration can be reached through Support Ticket only.
Click the link "support ticket" and then just follow the prompts from there.
Best wishes for a speedy activation of your account.

A word of warning, if you have a rogue, do not use killing spree in the first couple sets of mobs inside the Brewery, to avoid a possible wallhack accusation like that of this Blinking. I tapped wrong keybind and KS'd on the first set, where there are 2 mobs inside a very small room. I somehow KS'd right through a small fence, into some water, dropped through the floor, and ended up swimming underneath the instance for a second before getting a disconnect. Logging back in, I was in the same place, underneath, and DC'd again. I had to wait until I got kicked from the group before I was able to log back in, so it would place me at the beginning of the instance.
A few of these instances have some very thin walls.
