Hi,
Just got to iLvL 461 on my Ele Shaman over the weekend, after getting the 463 piece from Axe of the Thunder King.
So, I entered LFR yesterday for the first time.
1. Comment
I'm one lucky dog. We killed one boss, and I got a 476 Shield :)
2. Question
We fought one boss only, then people dropped group. Is that it? It was a Troll boss IIRC. I looked at the achievement and it looks like there are actually 3 bosses. How does that work? If I queue again, am I guaranteed to get one of the other bosses?
Thanks.

This topic was just addressed in another thread. I'll sum it up for you:
"Guardians of Mogu'shan" is a Raidfinder "segment" of the raid Mogu'Shan Vaults (or MSV). There are 3 bosses per "LFR segment" of MSV - chances are you entered after the first boss was cleared, killed the 2nd and 3rd, and then people left. Guardians of Mogu'shan is the first of the two segments, so there are other bosses (3 more), but it's a seperate queue for the content.
odds are you killed the 2nd and 3rd boss.
1st boss = 3 quillen (stone dogs)
2nd boss = mogu spirit
3rd boss = troll
if you killed the troll, the gaurdians of MSV was over in LFR.
Edit: The way the new LFR queue works is like this: If you queue and get an already-in-progress LFR, the NEXT time you queue up for the same LFR segment, you're almost guaranteed a fresh instance. Keep in mind, that you can only loot each boss once per week (excluding bonus rolls from elder charms). You would probably want to finish out the instance though, as you will get the 45 Valor for completion (although if you don't care to stick around for Valor, you can drop group after the 2nd boss instead).

First, you are right saying there are three bosses. After a boss is killed, it's typical for some players to drop, or they are AFK and get booted by the group. When that happens, the LFR system will grab someone from the queue and put them in the LFR. So the fact that you only killed one boss means someone left the group after the second boss, and you were chosen to replace that person for the last boss. If you were to re-queue, it's the same situation. There's a chance you might get put in a fresh run, or there's a chance you might get thrown in some point after.

Thanks. So, it looks like I got in on the final boss of the segment. So, when I queue again, I'll more likely get the first boss. Got it, thanks.
Cheers.

After they changed the LFR queue visibility to not knowing what the progress was, there was a lot of concern with not getting into fresh instances. Several dev's noted that after you've completed a partially finished LFR, it's almost guaranteed that you'll get a fresh instance. I have found this to be the case - I enter at 1/3 or 2/3 on my first queue, and when I requeue it's always 0/3.

BTW guys. I did get a fresh run of the first 3 bosses with LFR last night. Then I did the second set of 3 bosses. Now I have 3 items from LFR by using ECOGF. Fun times.
BTW: LFR must be easy. I went in not knowing anything about the bosses, and we did fine. We wiped only once, on the Spirit bosses, but overall it seemed pretty easy.
Cheers.

LFR is meant to be easy if you got a group who can follow the forgiven mechanics.
blizzard implented it too allow people who cant raid due too what ever reason. too still experience it.
if you had a lot of fun raiding in LFR, you could prehaps start looking into a guild that raids.
these however often have a schedule when they do it (make sure you are able too attend regularly before trying too join them).
also dont aim too high if you wanna start doing normal modes. if your new too the raiding game then dont bother trying too join heroic raiding guilds. they arent interrested in you since you lack experience.
however lower progress raiding guilds (ones that are running normal modes) are often a good fit for new raiders.
be warned some of these guilds have ridicilous high demands before you can raid with them, just avoid these 99% of the time they're actually quite bad themself (else they would be doing heroics where demands are higher).
