It is added to the database more or less regularily, but that may take (my personal guess, I have no official numbers) 2 or 3 weeks, especially when there is a lot to do on the website (as has been the case ever since 5.0 launched)
Also, I believe there is some kind of treshold rule, certain data needs to be submitted by several users for it to be counted as valid, to prevent the intentional or unintentional (private server) addition of incorrect data.
Again, this is just what I assume how it works, no guarantee :P

Ok, so how about a response from someone thats not just trying to pad their post numbers. That was an absolutely useless post.
More or less, Nulgar was correct in his response. Submitting a report claiming it to be spam and making ridiculous accusations about "pad post numbers" is unacceptable as it's clearly not the case. Nulgar has been here since 2007 and doesn't have nearly as many posts as several other newer users here. The entire statement was unwarranted.
We appreciate the contribution our users provide to the database via the Wowhead Client. The information submitted doesn't alter the current live numbers in real time. That information is compiled and when a sizable enough amount of information has been collected that data will be sent to update the live data. There is no set time table for updates to occur to the database.(##RESPBREAK##)12##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

Raid bosses have their loot inputted via the Dungeon Journal, so that information is available the day a patch goes live. When we have enough user data, a droprate is added to those loot tables.
We do have threshhold rules for things like Vendor wares, so someone doesn't give one corrupt upload and then we've got tons of bad entries to fix as a result. If something is still displaying unclear data after many user uploads, we'll manually fix it (which will be reflected in a push).
We generally do a push every one or two weeks. Even if there's nothing really new, we still do pushes since the pushes also fix bugs or add additional database content that's manually generated by staff, such as new transmog sets or marking removed items as no longer obtainable. The pushes take some time to finish, plus there's a good chance they'll break something random, so we can't do something every day.
