alright friends. im bored waiting on maitnence to finish. who wants to play best race & profession match for each class? im in a altoholic phase and trying to start on a alt family as i have never had anything other then my orc warrior. im loyal to the horde but may do some alli toons on another server one day so feel free to do a alli or hord list or both. im looking for ideas before i start leving mine or reasons i may should change something i maybe missing or dont know about. Ideally i want engineering on as many toons as i can. Plus all my main has to fuel anything is Mining though that should help fuel there engineering one toon at a time. My primary spec will always be tank unless its something like a rouge & all specs are DPS. In those cases i will try a little heals and DPS when i have to to cover each class. I dont know how mportant the stam buff will be for mining on my tanks so i may have to switch some things up to mix more mining in?
Orc - TANK Warrior - Zen master Mining/Eng - Main Level 90
Tauren - Death Knight - BS/Miner - Level 59
Pandaren - Monk - Alchemy/Herbs - Level 21
Tauren - Paladin - Skinning/LW (Really want to drop these 2 toons with this is enough) - Level 20
Troll - DPS Hunter - Skinning/LW - Level 20
Pandaren - DPS Rogue - Skinning/LW - Level 20
Blood Elf - Priest - Eng/Enchanting - Level 1
Goblin - Shaman - Eng/JC - Level 20
Undead - Mage - Eng/Tailor Level 1
Undead - Warlock - Eng/Inscription Level 1
Troll - Druid - Eng/Mining Level 1
Any ideas that might help me down a better path before i start leveling these guys? i got all my BoA for the Pandaren Monk so my Brewmaster tank is the only one i really want to keep with the herbs/alchemy but any race or profession changes u guys think im crazy or drowning in noobness and need to change for some crucial reason? thanks for your time friends

I like to pair Enchanting up with Tailoring. If I were to do it again I think I would also pair BS with LW and have a toon or 2 to feed those profs. Same for Alchemy - Inscription and Eng - JC. If one of those duel prof toons becomes a main they should be set. Like you I paired the gathering prof with crafting prof except for Enchanting - Tailoring. Other than my Alchemist my other toons are maxxed in there profs for the most part but are only feeding the basics to my main and other alts.
Kinda sad but maybe someday I'll switch things up.

Well the one key thing about professions is to make sure you have your main resources covered at the top of your list.
IE:- Don't roll an Alchemist / Scribe on your main if your Herbalism toon is way down the list of toons you plan to level/play.
I always make sure one of my main toons is a gatherer, I enjoy tanking so it comes natural to me to have my Tauren Guardian be my Miner and Herbalism guy. (Simply cannot beat a Tauren Druid for herbalism anyway)
You only need 1 miner, 1 Herbalist and technically 1 Skinner, although of course Skinning is so intuitive that there is no harm in keeping it whilst leveling because you never ever have to go out of your way to do it.
Engineering is an awesome profession, not only useful in terms of tinkers, but mailbox, bank, scrapbot, blingtron, mounts, pets, just my total favourite must have profession on my main.
Beyond that, For Enchanting you really aught to have a crafting profession too, Tailoring / Enchanting are the perfect bedfellows.
Right now my priority list would be:-
Mining
Herbalism
Blacksmithing / Eng
Alchemist / Scribe
I've covered my BS, Engineering, all spare mats/crafted are filtered down to my Enchanter/Tailor
I have my trinkets from Inscription now, Plenty of potions, no missing glyphs and shoulder enchants.
I also have full crafted sets for all my plate wearers and my Hunter who is my skinner/LW is pretty much done on the Mail + leather sets.
My Enchanter/Tailor is maxxed out just from mailed mats, and I have an abundance of dusts and shards to make whatever I need.
i know what u guys are saying but here is what i heard for example and correct mr if i heard wrong?
"Dude you got to do LW/Skinning on your Rough BC it gives u a crit bonus like the stam bonus you need on your tanks"
If thats true im wondering how crucial is it to pair certain professions with certain classes to cover all my tanks and still have the buffs where i need them. Also i understand i dont REALLY need the gathering (mining, herbs, Skinning) on more then one toon but how crucial is it that i have "mining" on a tank or is it ok to skip that buff on alts? and what about crit bonuses for rouges like i said etc?

im about to dump allot of time into my brewmaster monk tank as i just got his last piece of BoA at DMF last week. I really want to do herbs and alchemy on him but im wondering if i should do herbs and mining and do alchemy later so he has the stam buff :( keep imagining leather armour on A TANK and thinking that little +320 or whatever it is well every little bit counts?

The Stam buff from mining and the crit buff from skinning are not worth having at max level. If you are serious about min/maxing your toons, you would look at the crafting profession.
Blacksmithing = 2 extra slots for your primary attribute
Jewelcrafting = 3 of the better gems
Enchanting = Ring enchants
Inscription = Better shoulder Enchants
Engineering = On Use procs for gloves
On my tablet at work right now, or i would take the time to list the difference of the benefits out in number crunch form, but I know several of the number crunch sites have listed it out and show that gathering profs on a "hardcore" take that term for what you will is a waste.
Personally, I have:
JC/BS on my paladin (Main 1)
Alchemy/Herbalism on my warlock (not a raid toon..just a flask monkey)
Tailoring/Inscription on my priest (main 3)
Engineering/Mining on my rogue (PvP only toon)
Mining/Herbing on my druid (this guy gets no love)
BS/Skinning on my shammy (getting ready to drop skinning for Enchanting) (Main 2)
Skinning/LW on my hunter (gets no love either....just not fun to me atm)

thanks so much for takinng the time to give such detailed and good answers guys. im serious about maxing out my alts and i do believe im going to try to end up with maxxed engineering on all of them. also after what ive seen here im thinking i wont wory about making sure all my tanks have mining and just have 1 of each of my top 3 mains to do the gathering professions. thanks again
