Mistfall Village - Lost Quests

A couple of days ago I was progressing through my series of daily quests in Valley of Eternal Blossom.
At the Golden Pagoda, after turning in few quest for Golden Lotus, the NPC Leven Dawnblade sent me on my merry way to Mistfall Village - but I am not positive about the quest title...
I arrived at Mistfall Village, turned in quest, and picked up few dailies quests. I even started to collect some items (Pomfruits) for one of the dailies. I had to call it a night, parked myself into a building, and logged out.
Logged back in yesterday morning, and the village is under attack (Shao-Tien NPCs). The series of quests I had in my log has disappeared. I still had quest items in my bags (such as Pomfruit and Pomharvest Firework).
To make a long story short: I ended up submitting a ticket, but the answer I have is that I am probably missing some quest... and I should check with great sites like this one.
Well, I am not sure how I could be missing quests when I did picked up those dailies and even have quest items in my bag.
Could it be that I am stuck in some weird phase? Any ideas on how to get back to the set of quests in Mistfall Village...?

Mistfall has 3 phases tied to it. (calm, mogu attack and tricksters running around) To prevent issues they randomly select one phase per day and the quests tied to it are the only active ones in use. To accommodate this the quests follow the reset timer that other items do (aka reset on midnight). The items are flagged to a permanent status however so they will stay in the inventory until actively turned in (a function usually reserved for items you can gather an excess of).

Thanks for the reply and the very simple explanation.
I really wonder... why wasn't this explained in the reply to my ticket? This is one thing that can quickly turn away some players...
Where is this information available? It may be buried somewhere in some database... but how many players even know of the existence of sites like Wowhead?... and how many players have the patience and the expertise of digging into those database...
Thanks again, friend.
