So after over two years away and completely missing cata i am back playing from two weeks ago.
I got my main in pandaria and my other two at 82 and 73.
I can see now that you can have a horde and alliance on same server and am thinking of making one as an alt (obviously).
Couple of questions though
1. can my alliance and horde characters interact, like send mail etc or is there no way (black-market ah)?
2. is it truly the same server with all the cross over zones etc?
Sorry for the noob questions as i have tried searching and cant seem to find anything anywhere.

1. You can only send heirlooms through the mail to another toon on different faction that is on same realm. If you want to send items/gold you would need to use the neutral ah and would either need a 2nd account or a trusted person to help you. This is because you can't buy your own auctions.
2. The CRZ (cross realm zone) is only for all zones from classic to cata. This was mainly to make new players feel like they are actually in an mmo and even as someone who has played since TBC, I like it. So in these zones you would see people from lots of other realms.

There is another way to transfer gold.. using the new ´caged pets´ feature.
basically you buy something like an azule whelpling for 5k on the AH on your main faction. You learn it. Your alt of the opposite faction has access to that pet.. your alt ´cages´ the pet and lists it on his AH for 5k. You can even make a profit with a little research.
