Shadow stat-priority confusion!

Hello there!
Been a while since I last posted here. And, I'm afraid, the new class guides on wowhead probably decrease viewership of the various class fora... probably both for good and ill. (Good, because you probably have fewer inane questions like, "
Do I wear leather or plate?
")
My problem is trying to figure out the stat-priority for spriests. As of 5.x (and generally, even now), Icy-Veins.com was the only useful resource on new changes to classes, specs, rotations (especially with new abilities and changes to previous abilities) and stat priorities.
However, Icy-Veins.com lists Crit as greater than both Haste and Mastery. Mr. Robot, on the other hand, affirms that the old order (Haste > Crit > Mastery) still holds. They cannot both be right. (Can they?) And, unfortunately, Shadowpriest.com doesn't seem as useful right now with having been acquired.
---
Also, I used to skate under the hit-cap on my shadowpriest, in order to pull more DPS by forging into more of another useful stat... something you can't do on every class or spec. However? It seems like my priest is much more sensitive to the hit-cap than he used to be.

i am hit cap and may haste is 24% but i only have9% crit what do i do
Do nothing. Your weighted stats, in order, are:
Int (1:1)
Spell Power if found (0.8:1)
Haste (0.45:1)
Crit (0.43:1)
Spirit and Hit until you get to 15% cap (0.43:1)
Mastery (0.40:1)
Don't forget that Spirit and Hit, once capped, will actually
lower
your
effective DPS
if you keep stacking them, because that means you are not reforging into a better stat.
Also, while Spell Power is listed, there are almost no items left in the game that have that stat, with Int being the replacement. Since Int boosts both your spell power and crit (small caps intended), Shadow Priests, like most DPS casters, gain the most from it.

I'd like a source on those weights so I can be source critical - they differ from the onese posted in other threads.

WoW forum Shadow Priest guide also says Haste -> Crit -> Mastery.
Cheers.

I tend to keep my Hit closer to 14%, since Spriests can fudge on Hit, and rarely miss anything. It gives me more room for Crit, after the Haste cap.

On the contrary...with the 5% shadowform buff...it is imperative now more then ever not to miss on anything. Cap that hit.

Sorry, I don't entirely follow. How does an increase in the damage of our shadowform buff alter Hit mechanics? :-?

Nah, 5% is a substantial increase in capability, even if it might not seem like it. It applies to every one of our abilities (as long as we are in Shadowform) and can add up to a lot, over time. Most "proc trinkets" you acquire add only 1-2% total damage over whatever trink you just replaced.
At the same time, they nerfed SW:Pain, which makes me want to kick puppies. Blind, three-legged puppies.

You should never gem for Haste instead of Int. Int is straight up spell power with some Crit. No other stat competes.

Hey, even though I've been playing for a while I still don't understand most of the math with stats. I know about hit chance should be @15%. and that's about it. I really like my shadow priest and don't really play much else I've looked up different rotations and different ways of reforging but im just not satisfied with my overall dps. don't know if im expecting to much. Only once in a while I will get someone telling me I suck but not to often. I don't use a dps meter because I would obsess to much and then I would be scr#$ed.I think my rotation is good, but can someone look at my toon and let me know what else to do, I just got my hit chance down from 24% to 18% im just so frustrated thanks for the help/ Fathershemp on kargath.
