This is a simple trick used to hide programs from your parents, friends, or family. For example, you share a computer with your parents and you do not want them to know you have WoW installed. Well... this is what you do.
Go to Start or open Run. Type in
regedit
and hit enter.
This is for Windows 7 users. It works for any Windows OS, but the navigation may differ.
Navigate to the following.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > CURRENTVERSION > UNINSTALL > After you click the "Uninstall" folder, there will be lots of folders with sequenced numbers and letters, scroll down until you see the program you wish to edit.
Once you find the program you want to hide, simply right click "DisplayName" and rename it to "NoDisplayName". To check your work, open Control Panel, then open the program list. It will not be listed. To revert this process, rename to "DisplayName".
You can edit (rename) the following if provided.
DisplayIcon = ON
NoDisplayIcon = OFF
DisplayName = ON
NoDisplayName = OFF
DisplayVersion = ON
NoDisplayVersion = OFF
