So after much work on my WOW trying to figure out why for the love of god it wouldn't run any faster than 50 kbps I tried to disable Peer to peer and wouldn't you know all of a sudden my connection speed jumped up to the normal range of 200kbps. anyone else have the same issue?

Peer to Peer is indeed way faster. It is something on your end.
Downloaded at an average of 1.5 megs

hmm. Nothing I do my router is DMZed me I have my firewall off and the port range for wow is open so I shouldn't have a issue.

...but the port range for P2P transfers are different than the wow ones.
It could be as simple as your ISP bocking or limiting P2P traffic. That's why blizzard give an option to switch it off - because some people have trouble. I find the P2P to be amazingly good for me, always offering faster downloads.

Getting 3 mbps with Peer to Peer. Do you have all the proper ports set up?
Also, like Cyclops said, your ISP could be throttling P2P.

I've been getting somewhere in a range of 4-119 kb/s with peer to peer turned on.. with it disabled, it was approximately 4-25 kb/s, but I already know my firewall's screwed up. If you're having way too much trouble I'd just reinstall the most current version of WoW from battle.net.. it's what I've had to resort to after multiple download fails.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Gryphon##DELIM##Please no unnecessary text formatting.
