Usually indicates a problem with the battle group. Pops up every now and then.

No one here would know a solution, try making a GM ticket.

Has ANYONE resolved the issue of "transfer aborted : instance not found" by following the suggested steps by GM customer support? Has doing the following resolved this issue for anybody?
User Interface Reset:
1) Exit the World of Warcraft to your desktop by logging out of the game and exiting.
2) If you used an "installer" for a custom UI, see if it has an "uninstaller" and use it.
3) Inside the World of Warcraft Program Folder, rename the "WTF," "Cache," and "Interface" folders to "WTF-Old," "Cache-Old," and "Interface-Old."
4) Restart your computer.
5) Make sure that you are using WOW.EXE or LAUNCHER.EXE to start the game. Please do not run any UI installers beforehand, as we want to eliminate them as part of the issue.
6) Upon launching the game, you should see the Intro cinematic movie and be prompted to agree to the Terms of Use. Once you authenticate past the login screen, the "AddOns" button should no longer be visible at the lower left corner of the character selection screen. Both points mentioned previously must hold true if you should complete the aforementioned steps correctly.
If it does, I wouldn't mind doing the preceding steps, but if others have done this, without a resolution, posting that information here would certianly be helpful to many others, as this is apparently a wide spread issue for many players.

Wow, they're actually recommending renaming those folders now instead of deleting them?

renaming does exactly (almost) the same thing as deleting, but retains all the files contained in the folders. It effectively "hides" the folders from the program. You can also move the folders outside of the Warcraft folder entirely, even burn them on a disk as a back up, or just to a different location on your hard drive, to move back after a fresh install of the WoW client.
Which, saves a lot of hunting and trying to remember which add ons you had installed!

Additional Follow Up....
So having not gotten any further information regarding the effectiveness of the above steps, I took the best action, no action, until I had the required information.
Apparently, the steps given to me by Blizzard's GM were only a "keep busy" solution. I wish I could find a job that consisted of "copy / paste / mark resolved" Unfortunately, my line of work requires that I actually DO tech support and fix something.
The issue apparently has been resolved by Blizzard, as it has been over 30 hours with out a recurrence. Since I did nothing at my end, and since I know about network connections, and internet connectivity as part of my work, (So the connectivity issue at my end, and internet connections issues, that blizzard gms also suggested to be the cause of the problem, are also a load of ....... and were not even possibly connected to the issue), we can deduce that, just as most people suspected, the issue was in fact a problem with blizzard.
The moral here? Sure, contact blizzard with your technical issues, but don't let up on them, keep at them until you get the answers you need, and the issue is resolved, and don't take it for granted that the support GM is actually doing their job properly. A bit of research will save you a lot of time and pointless troubleshooting steps.

No one here would know a solution, try making a GM ticket.
1) GMs are idiots, that do nothing but copy / paste and wouldn't know how to hold down a REAL tech support job if their lives depended on it.
2) Saying "nobody here" is making a blanket assumption about what the users here know or do not know.
Now, in regards to what users here do or do not know, I have found a temporary fix to this problem.
You need to completely uninstall warcraft from your computer, using the uninstaller or from control panel. You also have to use something like Ccleaner to remove all warcraft remnants (file folders and registry values) or do it manually. THEN do a complete reinstall of warcraft, and your add ons (which you should make sure are up to date).
I call this a temporary fix for the simple reason that it lasts EXACTLY until blizz does it's restart or adds a "hot fix". Basically, when blizzard adds new files, it is corrupting the old ones, making the game unplayable.
And, just to show how inept blizzards GMs actually are.. they redirected the thread of "instance not found" to a "character not found" and marked it resolved. That was in March 2013, it is currently August 2013 and this is still an ongoing issue.
Even worse, when you get booted from an instance because of the "not found" issue, you now get a THIRTY minute "deserter" debuff, up from 15 minutes. The extra debuff is not a bad thing, but getting it for something beyond your control IS!(##RESPBREAK##)2060##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##I'm not sure why you felt the need to resurrect this thread; it's nearly a year old. Whatever concerns you still have regarding this problem, please take it up on the official Blizzard forums. Thank you.
